Pros: This hotel is clean, has updated and comfortable rooms, and the staff is friendly and efficient. The rate was very good for the area (about $50/nt). The breakfast was good, but not as hot as it should have been. Eggs, sausage, waffles you cook yourself, bagels, toast, coffee, tea, juices, cereal. This is our "go to" hotel when in the Beckley area.
Cons: Eggs and sausage were room temperature.
Pros: New, clean, quiet, great room.
Cons: A little out of the way for our destination; wife doesn't like sink in sleep area.

Pros: There was plenty of activities for us to do. My sons really enjoyed the pool, basketball court, and arcade. We wish we had more time to enjoy the free movies and to have used the bowling alley. Would have loved to walk around the park more. Located close to Winterplace and was easy to find from there. The free breakfast was way beyond expectations.
Cons: Do not order the pizza expensive and did not taste good. Wish the buildings were not so far apart the leisure center where pool and activities were was too far away to walk to. We drove everywhere within the resort. There was a shuttle but no one explained how often it comes by our room or if we were to call for it. if you like to save money bring your own drinks and snacks.
The Resort at Glade Springs features a free ski shuttle and puts you near winter activities like downhill skiing and snow tubing. You can visit the spa to be pampered with deep-tissue massages, body wraps, or aromatherapy, and Glades Grill and Bar, one of 3 restaurants, serves American cuisine and is open for dinner. 2 bars/lounges and a golf course are offered, and rooms have conveniences like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: Location! This is a very well maintain, newer location. We live staying here, knowing what to expect and our needs are met. We will be visiting again soon.
Cons: Only negative I could find was upon check in the front desk staff are not that friendly. The hotel cleaning staff was in the hallway both a room addenant and supervisor and they both spoke, very nice. Front desk staff dis not speak.
Pros: I'm not sure if this is a new hotel, but it seemed to be. Our room was very attractive, clean, and beds were very comfortable. We travel a lot and this was one of the best hotels we have stayed at.
Pros: The hotel is nine years old, but looks like it open earlier today! The staff is helpful, pleasant, and professional. Additionally, the hotel is close to the interstate, which makes it so convenient.
Pros: The location
Cons: The staff were not as friendly to my family as they were to other families. They did not speak when we walked past the front desk but spoke to other people. The shower had hair in it and the phone was dirt.
Pros: The location is great
Cons: I had to do a lot of online work the wifi on the second floor was not good at all. I had to use a mobile hot spot just to complete my work and check email. My room was located near the elevator so I would think the wifi signal would have been better.
Pros: The accommodations were very nice.
Cons: A piece of fruit or a muffin offered with their coffee in the morning would have been great. Just something in your stomach as you leave to start the day.
Pros: Clean and comfortable
Cons: No breakfast included
Pros: We experienced some unusual circumstances over our past few visits to Beckley and the staff at this Holiday Inn has been outstanding in helping us. Special shout out to hotel employee. They have our loyalty - wouldn't stay anywhere else!
Pros: Staff was excellent. Room very Clean. Manager had a happy hour with excellent appetizer and drinks (complementary).
Cons: Swimming Pool area and Hot Tub were not as clean as I would like. Hot tub had brown foam.
Pros: Non-smoking. Clean.
Cons: Missed complimentary breakfast that we usually enjoy (Country Inn and Suites).
Pros: They were very accommodating with bed choice. We asked for 2 Queens instead of a King room and it was no problem and no extra charge. We were also given a kids eat free coupon for the hotel restaurant upon check in, which was a pleasant surprise.
Pros: Hot tub
Cons: This hotel is in need of a complete overhaul. It is so old not up to par on technology. No USB ports in the rooms. There werected only two things I liked 1. The hot tub (too much chlorine) and the front desk person
Pros: good value for the price but pretty basic and a little distance from the interstate
Pros: Everyone was so Friendly, from management, desk clerks, housekeepers, bartenders, waitresses! I enjoyed the music on the back deck. It was a very relaxing visit. The atmosphere was very laid back and welcoming. Our room was recently remodeled, clean, and comfortable. The scenery was beautiful. I am already looking forward to our next stay with them.
Cons: There was really no bad thing with our stay. If you want a relaxing getaway, enjoy antiquing, or beautiful mountain scenery and plenty of fresh air, this is a wonderful place to go.
Pros: Room was remodeled and just as good as any 4 star hotel I've stayed at. The outside is not much to look at, but it is what it is. Would definitely stay here again in the winter to go skiing.
Cons: Rooms are small and outta date.. Hard to sleep on the 1st floor people above us were parting all night. Locals took over the bar at 8pm and turned the music way up. Restraunts food was a joke and over priced.
Pros: The location of this property is top notch. You can't ask for better mountain scenery
Cons: Beds could be upgraded
Pros: The hotel was very close too the ski resort. The staff was very helpful and considerate.
A great choice for a stay in Ghent, Skyline Resort features a nightclub. You can unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge, and the restaurant is the perfect spot to grab a bite to eat. Bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves are offered in all rooms, along with flat-screen TVs and free WiFi.
Cons: The toilet clogged up, the heat didn't work, and the furniture was very cheap and uncomfortable. I would have been more comfortable, spending half the amount of money I did and staying somewhere else in the same area.
I asked for a quiet room so apparently that really means putting me on the top floor as far as possible from the elevator.. Kids ran up and down the hall all night screaming. Overall a terrible experience.
Pros: Came late but had no problem checking in.
Cons: Staff was extremely busy.
Pros: Staff was friendly. Room was comfortable. Location was convient to the interstate
Cons: Power was out for most of the stay (not their fault) but detracted from the overall staw
Pros: Fair price
Pros: Every year we stop at this exact hotel as we go to and from the beach. We have three kids 7, 9, & 11 and this is a major highlight. The indoor outdoor pool combo is what the kids love the most, but the especially the adults love the outdoor hot tub. The front desk staff was helpful and friendly- exactly what we have grown to expect. You can't beat the price.
Pros: Friendly staff, clean room, easy access to highway and decent breakfast.
Cons: hotel staff gave attitude because we booked w/ you.they rec steakhouse they called cab we got stranded with no cabs and no ride home would have walked next door to diffferent restaurant .cancelled 10/2 night don't know if they ca with you.want the refund
Pros: Staff was great.
Cons: Hotel needs some upgrades, getting old.
Breakfast was no different than the competition hotels. From reviews we expected a better breakfast. For the extra $25 over the other hotels, I think we will try one of the others next time.
Pros: Roomy breakfast area, spacious bathroom
Cons: We were given a handicapped room to our surprise so I am not sure if other rooms would be the same, however, there was no hairdryer in the bathroom,no heat in the bathroom at all. It was ice cold in the bathroom, warm in bedroom.
Pros: They were extremely polite and helpful. I was traveling with my daughter who has autism and they were so accommodating and did everything possible to make our stay comfortable, as well as for the other guests.
Pros: Decent place to stop for the night while traveling.
Cons: Out of the way, harder to get to from interstate 64 than I would have liked.
Pros: The spacious room.
Cons: No comfortable chair to sit in - had to sit on bed all the time. No place to set anything down in the bathroom. Plenty of room for a shelf or vanity.
Pros: Eh, there's nothing outstanding about this hotel. The rooms were clean, and we mostly used it as an overnight on a longer trip. It was cheap and we got breakfast in the morning. Wifi was fast.
Cons: A second room that was being used by my parents had a really bad smoke and cleaner smell in it. We also had to ask for a set of bedclothes for the pullout, and they didn't have any fitted sheets. We made due.
Pros: staff was very helpful, and went out of there way to make are stay great, Went down to Beckley for a birthday party and to spend time with family I had not seem for a long time, the Staff went out of there way to make sure we was all take care of. The next time we come to Beckley we are sure to stay at Microltel,,,,
Pros: Stayed in a suite that was very nice, comfortable and clean. The pool was clean and was handicap accessible.
Cons: The bathroom sink and tub drain very slowly. So they are clean until you use them but dirty from then on out. The freezer part of the refrigerator was the size of two ice trays and wouldn't keep anything frozen.
Pros: The girl at the front counter was very good and directed us to another hotel when the section where we were to stay was flooded by a major break in the water line. We are not angry over this because things do happen and the other hotel was just fine for a one night stay. We travel a great deal and have always enjoyed Microtels. We will use Microtels again.
John and Mitzi Russell
Pros: Extremely nice and many confidences for the money.
Cons: I am always looking for a way to save money when on business. The hotel was great, breakfast was skimpy however. Bare minimum on what was served.
Cons: Microwave, fridge were not in room as stated on booking. Front desk offered use of both in hotel's restaurant, but declined due to public health reasons
Pros: Very nice that it was on the ground floor level for us. Very close to several restaurants.
Pros: What would have been a very nice stay was marred by a twenty something hallway fight that woke everyone up after midnight. The icing on the cake was the smoke alarm set off by one of the fight participants who tried to smoke in their room.
Pros: Breakfast was rather extensive and fulfilling for which we were glad. Room was easily accessible and hotel was near to our destination.
Cons: Shower didn't work in our room at all. The bed was incredibly creaky to the point where we thought we would break the bed if we shifted at all. When we checked in the AGM was haughty and slightly condescending to us as if we were wasting her time.
Pros: I have Celiac Disease and have to be 100% Gluten Free for medical reasons and I was able to eat the breakfast buffet which doesn't happen often.
Pros: We were in town for a funeral. The location was convenient. Ther ebrealfast was included, wifi, and a pool.
Cons: It definitely didn't t look like the pictures, the A/C vent fileters were no clean and smelled musty. I'm severely allergic to mold and dust. My daughter ended up getting a head cold after we left. I'm glad we paid military rate.
Pros: The location
Cons: For the SECOND time....Someone had slept in the bed. My 82 year old Aunt climbed into bed only to find a nasty wash cloth in the bed with her.
After driving 8 hours, I had to get out of bed, get dressed, go to the desk and get clean sheets, come back and make the bed. It was a gross event.
Not going back there again.
Last time you could tell someone had been laying in one of the beds and a drink ring on the table. We just used the other bed, What is up with that hotel?
Pros: Very convenient location - right off of the interstate.
Lobby and rooms were generally clean.
Cons: The mattress on our bed was old.
The hallways were unreasonably hot on our floor. Like the management didn't want to pay extra to keep them cool.
Letters on their neon sign were burnt out. Hard to locate on a foggy night.
Pros: Most of the staff was friendly. Housekeeping was super-friendly and terrific. I feel badly that we forgot to tip them. Free breakfast was judicious but still made it a pretty good value.
Cons: STAFF: Was abruptly told upon arrival that since I had made the reservation online, they could do nothing about giving a military discount. Staff is incapable of chatting on the phone and giving change for the vending machine at the same time. ROOM: The first night, they had us on the lower level, the 100-level rooms. It smelled so badly of mildew that we thought we would be sick. Even the a/c smelled awful. I can't believe it is not a health hazard. They agreed to move us to an upper-level room, even acknowledging the lower level smelled bad. BREAKFAST: Well, it was free. But if you get there 10 minutes before it closes up, you may find yourself with nothing but a muffin. A bunch of people came in close to closing time and they refused to put out any more food.
Pros: The location
Cons: When I went to book this hotel, I picked it bc it said "Pet Friendly." When I got there, everyone had dogs. I thought that was nice. At no point ever through the registration process was I asked about pets; there was no indication through the registration process that there would be a pet charge. Mind you, I have no problem paying it, but the way the staff approached me was super rude. I called to ask whether or not the comforters were down (feathers) because I had woken up with a headache, runny nose and cough; I am allergic to down, so I figured they must be down. The lady picked up and I said, "Hi. I am wondering if you could tell me if the comforters on the bed are down?" And the woman goes, "I don't know, but I have been trying to get ahold of you ALL DAY. You have dogs in your room. Are you aware of the pet policy?" I was totally taken aback by her tone of voice. I said, "No, I just saw that it was a pet-friendly hotel, so i picked it." She said, "Well, it is $25.00 per night; so that's a $50.00 incidental charge." I said "Okay." and she said, "Okay, thank you, bye." And I said, "Um, what about my question regarding the bed comforter?" and she said, "I don't know." And I said, "Well can y ou ASK someone?" She turned and asked someone and they said no, so she said "No, they are not. Thankyou." And hung up. So, when I went to check the tags on them, they were. Then I called last evening bc I thought I left my phone charger in the room and the woman who answered said, "I have no idea about that. The people who are in charge of lost and found aren't here. They work again at 8am tomorrow morning. I will take your number and have them call you." Now, wouldn't you think that a lost and found list of items would be available at the front desK? Finally, when I was asking about whether a route 19 exit was north or south of our location, the woman talked over me and did not let me finish my question. Also, they took away the free coffee while the restaurant was open for breakfast. I do not think there was a continental breakfast, I did not see one, just a menu and prices for breakfast in the elevator. Also, they advertise themselves as a Hotel, but the restaurant is not open all of the time. No room service. Just unsophisticated customer service all the way around.
Pros: Some of the staff were pleasant, and the room was cleaned well for the first few nights.
Cons: Some of the staff was a bit rude and less than accommodating. The third floor smelled like a nursing home hallway (I've worked in some, I should know) which was less than pleasant. The continental breakfast was as basic as it gets and frankly quite lame. The pool area seemed barren and maintained by minimal standards.
When visiting Oak Hill, Holiday Lodge Hotel & Conference Center is a great choice to consider. After visiting the health club for a workout, you can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant or unwind with a drink at the bar/lounge. An indoor pool and a spa tub are other highlights, and rooms offer flat-screen TVs and refrigerators.
Cons: The smell of smoke though out the building. Bed was not to comfortable but pretty much the smell throughout the building was the biggest negative
Pros: Room was clean, they gave us way more towels than we needed, the people at the front desk were very helpful and friendly and housekeeping did a great job. Big mini fridge and microwave were definitely a plus, as was the decent sized flat screen.
Cons: The air conditioner made the room smell a little like soured laundry, but it wasn't bad enough to complain about.

Pros: Clean, good service, good peice, comfortable bed
Pros: Only good thing was the restaurants and eateries nearby
Cons: You could hear people on the phone in the next room, people walking above you, there were a couple of fights (hotel guests) just above us they were kicked out.they need a fridge in the room..didn't get no sleep for people running to each other's rooms..it was crazy.
Pros: Nice check inn
Cons: Way outdated
Bed wasn't comfortable
Dark parking lot
Cons: Pool was broken, but allowed you to go across the road to their other location to use the pool there. The breakfast was from 6:30 a 10:00 am but if you didn't get there first you only got what was left. No one was refilling the muffins, donuts, danish... you could make a waffle or eat cereal if you wanted. Apparently there was a limited amount of food available not based on the number of guests staying in the motel. That's poor customer service in my opinion. You could tell the motel was in need of some serious updates, the beds had recently been changed and I give them credit for making updates, I've stayed in other Baymont Inn properties that were better maintained. Overall, not a bad place t stop and get some sleep while traveling.
Cons: The shower curtain in the bath tub was covered with mold where it hung below the tub.
The breakfast bar was very limited.
There was a very strong cigarette smoke smell in the hallway.
Cons: The whole place felt like everyone was doing the least amount possible
Pros: For its price it was overall okay and fair.
Cons: I was turned down by the small talk that the guy at the reception was putting on me. He just didn't stop. He was wearing a plain white T-shirt that had stains. For me this is an absolute no go if you are welcoming people. You need to have clean attire!

Pros: Everyone was very friendly and ready too kelp in any way they could. Place that I will stay again.
Cons: This facility needs someone to update and do some maintenance. You are associated with Wyndham, so we were disappointed at the level of disrepair of this place. The area for the breakfast was way too small for the guest to use when busy. Overall I would never stay here again.
Pros: Like that they had a pool, plenty of parking.
Cons: Curbs were high and difficult to navigate for disabled everywhere but main entrance. would take 4 pillows to make 1 real one. the pool is missing tiles on the edges, but water was clear and chemicals appeared to be maintaining pool well. A/C had visible dirt caked in and on it but cooled the small room well. lighting in rooms was nonexistent. Very dangerous. had to get staff to make frig work. liquor store out front of building entrance appeared to attract transients / homeless.
Cons: The breakfast room was extremely cramped, and the food was minimal at best - cold cereal, muffins and bagels. No waffles, no eggs.
Pros: Free Breakfast and tasty orange juice
Cons: Breakfast food choice was limited. e.g. only 2 cold cereals, bagels but no bread, no waffle maker, little or no fruit.
Should be an extra pillow (4, not 3), and the pillows were too soft.
Pros: Air condition in room was great
Cons: Toilet backed up. Extremely small room. Ice machine on my floor not working. In-room amenities was poor, including no coffee maker.
Pros: It was close and the price was decent. Continental breakfast was the best thing.
Cons: The entire building smelled like cigarette smoke.
Bathrooms were not clean, linens had old stains on them
All applicances were old.
Pros: Polite Staff, okay breakfast, location to freeway
Cons: Obvious smoke from non-Smoking next room, cigarette hole and hair on sheets, old wore out mattress, half used shampoo bottle in bathroom (maybe they were going green), banjo music from the woods...
Pros: Very convenient location
Cons: The room was clean but the bed sheets and pillowcase were very uncomfortable. I wasn't expecting silk, but they were rough and uncomfortable.
Cons: No hit water in shower. Residual spirits arguing!
Pros: It smelled like cigarettes and the attendants were smoking in the back if they were not tending people, though they were nice lady's. the bedding had burn holes and one of the pillows had blood on it. the linens smelled like someone had slept in the bed before us. UGH... I will never stay there ever again. I will sleep in my vehicle. It was disgusting!!!!
Cons: everything. too bad it was so late at night, we would have gone elsewhere.
Pros: The price was right for a last minute trip and location was fine for the business I was meeting at.
Cons: I booked through a third party and they made a mistake and reserved me into a smoking room. I was informed on check-in there was nothing they could do (not even do an upgrade that I was willing to pay for) because they didn't have the ability to integrate with those systems, short of cancelling my original booking (which was non-refundable) and making a new reservation. After a long winded explanation from the counter about why he wasn't to blame for the issue, I ended up in the smoking room which had cigarette burns in the ceiling and carpet, smelled smoky, and seemed dingy.
Pros: The room was clean, linen was fresh, television worked well, heater/air conditioner worked well, bathroom was clean and everything worked well. I would stay there again.
Cons: No one was at the front desk when I checked out. I didn't stay for the continental breakfast because it did not look appealing--very skimpy offerings. The noise level was a bit high--the walls must be paper thin.
Cons: BE ALERT! Live bugs on the bed sheets, Smoker room and hotel, NO elevator! It was advertised as a non-smoker, but they gave me a filthy smoky smelly room. furniture was sticky and not clean. Toilet was stained brown, the whole building smells like ashtray. I complained and they refused to change the room nor to refund the money! I did not stay more than a few minutes and returned right back, Had to go to Marriott and gladly stayed there across the street from this hotel. they falsely advertised this hotel and things are not as what they say online! I would never stay there even for free.
Pros: Nice clean room. Good size.
Cons: Smoke detector in our room missing
Naked wires only. No elevator.
Cons: Guest service was rude. Rooms were smokey and dirty. Didn't sleep at all!
Pros: location was great, lots of restraunts to choose from and easy access to 77.
Cons: The nice young man at the front desk confused me ....He was dressed in a stocking cap and jeans and a coat , so I wasn't sure if he worked there?? The hotel looked like it needed tlc. The breakfast was the worst I have ever seen .I didn't feel comfortable with the cleanliness enough to even eat there.
