10.0 Excellent
Pros: We went for the 4th of July holiday and felt so comfortable in the small and warmly decorated hotel. Being such a crowded weekend, we never felt overwhelmed due to the hotel being near MIT and no school in session over the summer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel, a former firehouse, has a beautiful feel. The very opposite of a cookie cutter chain hotel. The staff were very friendly, and the room was large and comfortable.
Cons: The location, in the center of Kendall Square, is difficult to park in. The hotel does have a small underground lot (which is great) but the fit is right. Despite a warning from front desk staff, we still managed to nick the front bumper...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, great location, Wi-Fi hotspot in every room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: As an old firehouse, this hotel has great character and is a nice respite from typical chain hotels. The breakfast was excellent and afternoon wine was a nice touch. This hotel provides a wonderful experience for guests and is a very good value.
Cons: Parking was very tight
Kimpton Marlowe Hotel - Cambridge - Building
2
9.1 Excellent (1,647 reviews)
Overview Reviews
An alluring courtyard with an interactive celestial sculpture welcomes guests to our storybook getaway on the Charles River. While Kimpton Marlowe emphasizes luxury and lavish style, it also links the intellectual and innovative spirit of Boston and Cambridge. Guests attend to the mind, body and soul in rooms that feature deep hues and (often) sensational views; thoughtful amenities place a focus on staying fit, pampered and well-fed—thanks to Bambara Kitchen + Bar—while in our care.

The Charles Hotel - Cambridge - Bedroom
3
9.0 Excellent (1,142 reviews)
Overview Reviews
A stay at The Charles Hotel places you in the heart of Cambridge, a 3-minute drive from Harvard University and 9 minutes from Copley Place. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a 24-hour business center, and limo/town car service. Planning an event in Cambridge? This hotel has facilities measuring 18000 square feet (1672 square meters), including conference space. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service and superior restaurant. Very friendly staff who facilitated the check in and out as well as the luggage. I was in and out many times with my 7 year old grandson and he was always greeting with a smile. My daughter belongs to your health club and so they are used to going to your hotel. Overall, a well located, efficient and very quiet hotel.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The Charles is a perfect place to stay in Cambridge. It is well located, well designed with contemporary clean lines but still warm, and the Rialto is a fabulous restaurant in the hotel. We had a corner room which was quite spacious which we really appreciated as we were staying multiple nights.
9.4 Excellent
Cons: The room was very drafty near the windows- lots of cold air coming in
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent. The room was very nice and comfortable. Excellent farm to table restaurant and bar.
Cons: Although they had a parking garage, the elevator to the lobby was out of order so you had to take the stairs and the stairs lead to outside the front entrance. Very inconvenient if carrying any bags from the car and also because of sub-zero temps that weekend. Also no in and out access for self parking at $40 per night. If you leave you have to pay again.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Everything is within walking distance as I enjoyed a glorious autumn afternoon. I browsed endless rows of books at the Coop, watched rowers glide along the Charles River and ran stairs at Harvard Stadium while the football team engaged in a spirited practice. When I returned to the hotel, the room smelled great. They must have a special scent. I enjoyed the organic soap, shampoo and lotion that came with the room. Henrietta's Table is great for breakfast / brunch, and I highly recommend The Harvest for dinner. A very nice stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great with excellent service and nice trait ants around in the plaza
5.4 Okay
Pros: Well decorated rooms. Convenient to Harvard square
Cons: Officious front desk staff. Being told they couldn't change our departure and charges despite a family emergency because it was our fault we used a third party reservation service. Being told entirely dissimilar rooms were the same. Smelly comforter covered by clean sheets. No coffee maker in room. Ice available only on request from room service.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Charles Hotel is centrally located in Cambridge, so it's very easy to get around the town. We walked wherever we needed to go and got there quickly and easily. The hotel has several dining options and an actual fitness club, not just a room with some cardio equipment and universal equipment. The wifi works well and the staff were all very helpful. It's pretty expensive to stay here, but we found a good deal on one of the discount hotel sites. I'd return in a heart beat.
6.0 Good
Pros: Great location near the center of Harvard Square. Rialto is an excellent restaurant. Regatta Bar is great if you like jazz.
Cons: Hotel is in need of renovation. New England shabby-chic means it's just a basic hotel in terms of cleanliness and room amenities. Bathrooms are seriously dated and in need of complete redo. Service levels are mediocre. Business center is a joke (1 computer and an attached printer). Prices are very high: you are paying for the location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One great thing about Harvard Square is the high energy and bustle, especially when school is in session. What makes The Charles so perfect is that it is a tranquil respite right on the edge of all the happenings.

Pros: room was very clean, bathroom and shower were great. I loved the balcony. Check in/out was quick and simple. Hotel staff was very nice and accommodating.

5.7 Okay
Pros: The location.
Cons: They offered none of the amenities that typically are offered free at any other hotel I have stayed in. Very low value for the top money they ask for. I won't be staying there again on my next trip to Cambridge.
7.4 Good
Pros: Convenient location. Clean room. Very helpful and pleasant staff.
Cons: It's shocking that for the price you pay for a room at a Marriott that Wi-Fi or wired Internet connectivity is not free. Really? Bathroom vanity was very small, too small for two people to be getting ready at the same time. The under-mounted bathroom sink wasn't installed under the granite, vanity top correctly...surprisingly low build quality or QA, again, for the price of a room at a Marriott.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location to the T- able to access the whole city from the hotel
Cons: Room was small for price
6.5 Good
Pros: wait staff in Champions was very good
Cons: shortage of drawer space. lighting was awkward. bathroom was poorly laid out. amenities were not very good
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Close proximity to T stop is ideal.
Cons: Bed was lumpy, hot water in sink was dangerously scalding.
6.6 Good
Pros: Nice view, good shower, renovated lobby
Cons: Room was old and unremarkable
9.3 Excellent
Pros: I was very pleasantly surprised at the overall professionalism and courtesy of the staff. The location cannot be beat if you're visiting MIT.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: All very clean. Great view. Great location
Cons: 1. Only one drawer 2. No desk or desk chair 3. Lighting was strange. 4. No "instruction" sheet.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the best service we've ever had at a hotel. The front desk staff, manager, and doorman were so kind and went out of their way to help us. The food was very good and the restaurant staff was excellent.
6.0 Good
Pros: Clean new
Cons: Noisy at night walls are thin
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is modern in design, with Euro-style bathrooms. Once you discover how the lights are turned on and off, everything is fine. We had a nice dinner in the bar. The staff are very pleasant. There is a bike-pedestrian trail (Minuteman Commuter Bikeway) nearby if you want to have a pleasant walk. Also, it's a short walk (equivalent to about 2-3 blocks) to the Alewife Station of the Red Line. It is only 3 stops to Harvard Square and also the Red Line will take you to downtown Boston among other places. There are few restaurants or shops in the immediate vicinity but we had a good dinner in the hotel bar. It does not serve lunch, however. For lunch, I suggest taking the Red Line (3rd stop) to Harvard Yard area, which has many good restaurants, shops, and museums. They do sell packaged sandwiches and other packaged lunch items in the hotel.
Cons: There is construction underway (Oct 2018) and since the office park is being built out, it's possible construction will be a feature for a while to come. The pile driving and other construction activities were kept to 7am to 4pm so it was not a problem sleeping at night. However, if you are going to be hanging around the hotel in the daytime, it can be obnoxious. Also, it can be a little difficult to find this hotel, which is right along the expressway. There are few shops or restaurants in the vicinity but it is a short walk (equivalent of about 3 blocks) to the Alewife Station on the Red Line, so very easy to get into Harvard Square area, where there are great restaurants, shops and museums.

Overview Reviews
The Royal Sonesta Boston understands the fine art of balancing work and play. Located only minutes from most of Boston
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The Royal Sonesta Boston was a great hotel. I especially liked the balcony in my river facing room. It looked like the Cambridge-Facing side did not get balconies. Their in-house dining experience, while more expensive than some other hotels in-house dining options, offered a great ambiance. Loved that I was able to get a self-park rate included in my hotel rate.
Cons: The express breakfast option was more limited than I had hoped but still more than satisfactory. The bathroom was also a little weirdly laid out. The door kept banging into the shower curtain rod, which made it somewhat uncomfortable to use the toilet

6.0 Good
Cons: Ok
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff are great. Good buffet breakfast. Very helpful Wendy sent things I left in my room by mistake.
Cons: NA
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Everything at the Hyatt is always clean & comfortable & the staff are terrific.
Cons: The prices for Boston hotels are over the top compared to the rest of the country.
3.4 Mediocre
Pros: Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. The pool was salt water? It was nice to not have dry skin after a swim because it wasn’t chlorinated. I books the city view room and the view was nice to wake up to.
Cons: $40 a day for parking and $55 a day for valet parking. The street parking is horrendous - you have to download an app to pay for parking and they still ticket you well before the two hours is up. You’re not even able to move to another spot if there is one that is open - you have to move to a different spot in a different zone - there is literally only two zones for the whole street which is about 3/4 mile long- you are timed out of a zone for 3 hrs so even if you manage to move to another spot now you can’t go back to the only two available zones in that area. It’s pretty much highway robbery. Everything is old and rusty. You can see the years of wear and tear in the furniture. To access the pool you have to go thru a walkway and it’s located on top of the garage - so it’s alittle inconvenience. There’s constant renovations so it was noisy during the night time.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was very good comfort
Cons: parking was an additional coast. We had two cars $80 total you can hear what is going on in the whole way and next-door room
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Hotel staff were excellent, helpful, and very accommodating when there was a mix-up with room assignments. We really appreciated their friendly and gracious service.
6.8 Good
Pros: The online description advised on-site parking, it sure was, at $38 a day, I could have stayed at the Marriott down the road with free parking
Cons: $38 a day parking, turned my $150 room into a $200 a night room after taxes, very deceiving
4.8 Okay
Pros: Easy about 1 mile walk to back bay.
Cons: Room smelled musty. First was given a room that wasn't cleaned properly. A shirt was in the corner of the room and a black mascara mark on the pillow. Then was moved to a room with a balcony which was nicer but still smelled musty and had eaten food(baba ganoush) left in the fridge. Housekeeping needs to improve! Will never stay again. Hyatt Regency in East Boston by the airport is way better!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Special thanks to Maria at the restaurant, and Roe, the omelette chef for outstanding service.
Cons: Nothing.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location. Views. Cleanliness. Mass
Cons: Massive parking and pet fee. No coffee or breakfast. Shop downstairs was way overpriced. Bottle of Pepsi was $3.47?? Overall I think this hotel was way too much money for what you get.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best experiences I've ever had
4.0 Okay
Pros: Good elevator security, location, friendly doormen, the staff apologized for not taking care of my water problem or leaving a note.
Cons: Didn't fix the loud banging noise when I used the hot water in the bathroom sink, mold in the shower drain, shower clothes line didn't work, no Boston papers available, coffee poor quality, Starbucks croissants were day old and cost $4+, I had a view over industrial Boston, obstructed by the gym. Even the gym faced away from the water.
