Loved the balcony outside dining area, and the wonderful meals prepared by the staff. As it is a small town, ideal for relaxing, and chilling. Parking no problem, access to the rooms, restaurant, local harbour area all easy. There is also a ferry trip around the lake which is something relaxing to do.
Rooms on third level of mixed use office/hotel/restaurant building fronting lake. The room was enormous with a small office niche and desk. One large window to European Union building across street. Ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, which has a fantastic shaded terrace we loved sitting on and overlooked the lake. The traditional Slvak dinner was wonderful, and food in general in Slovakia is much less than Vienna and UK, so great prices. Breakfast was eggs on ham. Slovakia doesn't have many fruit juices, but the coffee is strong and espresso-like we found excellent. When we did find the check-in, staff was helpful. Looked like family-friendly place with places in restaurant for kids to play.
We didn't have a lake view- verify if important. Check-in was unclear- no 'front desk', and street level businesses and small cafe closed; initially place looked empty. We found the restaurant on lower level, below street level. Unclear about parking, which is in front and a side lot. No air conditioning, so watch your seasonal temperatures- we slept with the windows open and learned how many dogs were left out until 23:00 and up at 5:00. Other than that a quiet neighborhood.
Incredible value with a hint of luxury even! Ask for a room with a lake view. Such a lovely small hotel. Definitely coming here back in the future
Reception was missing (had to find myself to the restaurant downstairs to ask for advice), no air condition in the room but it didn’t get too hot even though it was +30c outside. Breakfast is ”a la carte” and I’m more of a buffet person myself. The coffee was fantastic, though.
Small snack and bottle of water in room, clean rooms
Take the room with the lake view - definitely worth it - it's amazing. the room is wonderful and the location in this very small town is great. It takes 2 minutes to understand where's the reception but that's not a big deal
