New Concord hotels

Pros: The room was big and clean. Very nice room for the money we spent. We felt we got a great deal.

Cons: We believe the pool had too many chemicals as my husband and 3 boys became sick while swimming plus another little girl at the pool became sick. Vomiting, coughing, red eyes. Everyone was feeling better the next morning. I made the front desk clerk aware that my family and another little girl at the pool became sick while swimming and that we thought there was an excess of chemicals. She said she would test the pool and chemicals and then call to let me know if that was the case - I never heard back.

Pros: The hotel looked brand new and had a very modern decor. We stayed in a suite that was very spacious and had doors to close off the sleeping area. The pool/spa area was nice. Breakfast included protein.

Cons: In the living room area there was only overhead lighting that seemed very harsh and hard on the eyes after the sun went down. Side lamps would help. The lighting in the bedroom was too stark as well, even with the LED reading lights. There also was no side chair in the living area, although there was plenty of space. I had to take a cushion from the sofa and sit on the floor to work on a puzzle with my daughter (squinting most of the time).

Pros: The suite was clean , spacious with a great view ! The host ( young man Muskingum student ) was helpful and kind .! So happy to have a hotel in New Concord!

Pros: Garland is a striking hotel about halfway between Pittsburgh and Columbus, Ohio. It is an amazing facility and the staff exude hospitality. This hotel is a gem,...and the price is right!

Pros: Easy access to Interstate, modern decor and extra large room

Cons: The elevators were not in operation the entire stay which was very difficult for. 73 year old. Also there were a lot of large stains on carpet and drapery to balcony door was off of rod,. I was surprised by room condition for a hotel only 4 years old

Pros: Our stay was overall pleasant. The kids loved swimming in the pool (nice hours) and loved the open shower lol. The room was clean and roomy, comfortable beds and pillows. We love the complimentary breakfast! Fluffy eggs and biscuits. Only thing for me was the water pressure in the shower. Its lite and refreshing, but with long thick hair, it is hard to get the soap out and it takes longer to finish:/ (just thinking of water conserving) We stay here every year, once in spring and once in the summer due to family gatherings. We love visiting Garland and will continue to do so.

Pros: Very good location immediately off of I-70 near Zanesville, OH. New buliding with upscale feel, though some may find the minimalist design a bit stark. Rooms are large - almost too much so. Bed is very comfortable. Microwave, mini-fridge and coffee maker provided. A little peninsula bar is the only workspace - no desk, and the bar stools may be uncomfortable for an extended sit. The property has all the amenities and a very nice breakfast room. I've not had the breakfase (Scott's Diner in New Concord, five minutes away, is highly recommended!). Great hotel at the price!

Cons: Some may find the design a little stark. The front desk may not be staffed in the early morning or late evening, as the desk clerks also respond to guest calls.

Cons: A lot of walking for my elderly parents. Lodge is is so big and corridors so long to get back and forth to our bedrooms. Mom kept saying she wished there were more benches to rest. No sugar free pancake syrup for my diabetic husband and father at restaurant. Showers were awful! In need of some updating for sure!

Pros: Pillows were heavenly. Staff very friendly. The naturalist, John, was extremely knowledgeable.

Cons: We purchased a cabin with a hot tub even called ahead of time to make sure it had one we didn’t get a cabin with a hot tub we called he said he can’t do anything about it all the cabins with hot tubs are taken he could refund 30% of our money we paid $200 we came down here for the hot tub we drove 2 hours i am very upset plus they have mouse traps everywhere the cabin was not clean

Pros: We went there for my boyfriends 50th birthday. Salt fork Lodge went above and beyond. They had snacks and a happy birthday sign in the room when we got there. They are all super friendly and we just love it every time we go there. The property is so clean and the food is delicious.

Pros: I travel for work about 20 weeks a year and I typically stay at holiday inns, but this wasn’t for work and I wanted to stay somewhere different. I really enjoyed my stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. The room was dark and comfortable allowing us sleep well.

It had 90's covers on it pillows were horrible it was like laying straight on your arm. I wouldn't stay there again but for the price i guess you get what you pay for. But just because it was out dated halls were nice and clean no trash laying around anywhere. Trash cans outside the building were not over flowing. For what i paid it was a clean place and staff was very accommodating.

Cons: It is a dark road when driving off of the highway. A light does need to be added before the driveway to turn left into the motel. It is a light shining that is showing the motel sign, but it after the driveway. I am afraid that I am going to hit a big rock one night and damage my car, since I keep turning onto the grass before I stop and then I am going backwards for a few seconds to make the left turn into the driveway.

Cons: The man was very rude, money hungry, greedy. My room was a smoking room so the cleanliness was low and I expected that but the service was foul. And the smell when you walk in the back door is almost unbearable smell of some kind of food and I thought the smell would leave it smelled like 3 day old Chinese. And the manager I believe the only man I seen working room service/front desk, pretty much all the duties was very rude. I will not be staying their again. And I advise anyone who reads this doesn’t either ALSO TERRIBLE WIFI!!!

Cons: The staff who checked me in was not a pleasant fellow at all. When I booked, I thought I booked for two people , but he said I only booked for one , so I needed to pay extra, which I understood, but he tried to change more than what it should have been. When I asked him about, he said he would charge only 5.00 more, but next time it would be full price. He then proceeded to put us in a room upstairs and in the back , when there where clearly rooms o the first floor that would have been more convenient. Only one electric outlet in room that was available for use and it didn't work. Next morning, the same staff member called and said it was check out time. This was about 10:10 a.m. I thought check out time was 11:00 a.m. I never had another that happen to me at another hotel, plus it wasn't like there were people waiting for a room Rooms and hall were musty smelling, but bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked. No shampoo or toothpaste provided by hotel, so bring your own. Seriously doubt if I would stay there again mostly because of the one staff member I had to deal with.
