Nikko Park Lodge Mountain Side

The lodge provides breakfast and dinner at an additional charge, and it is worth every dollar I've paid. Coffee and tea were provided and breakfast and dinner could be purchased for an additional fee. Hosts were kind and spoke English.

Dorm beds are super comfy! The beds were also very comfortable and the place was cozy and surrounded by nature. The beds are also very comfy.

I would recommend driving, as they have parking space for your vehicles. Plenty of parking for motorbikes.

There's a communal area right next to the front door where everyone chills during the evening, and it's a good chance to meet visitors from other countries or chat with the owners of this property. The common room is just fantastic, very large and comfortable and easy to meet and mingle with other guests, or just relax with a beer after a long day.

High season is in May, and it's a great place for who's traveling on a budget. In summer, the blankets were great, but for winter, the blankets were a bit thin; would have been nice to have a doona.

The hotel is around a 20-minute walk from the station and not close to many restaurants, so plan accordingly, especially as restaurants in the area close early.

If you enjoy communal living arrangements and meeting other travelers, this lodge offers a cozy communal living area and is suitable for young people or backpackers.

If you have mobility issues, avoid the family room as it requires climbing a flight of in-room stairs to the bedroom.

The staff, including the owner, speak English well, making communication easy for international guests.

If you're a light sleeper, be aware that the dormitory can be a bit noisy, especially in the evening.
