The units are equipped with kitchens which is really nice. It means that we could make our meals in our room and spend more time on the amazing beach. The staff sets up chairs for guest use too. The pool is pretty small and the water was too warm. But because our visit was in July, we just spent our time on the beach instead.
I like everything about the place except for the situation with the A/C. Even though the A/C blew cold, it was sooooo loud that I couldn't sleep and had to turn it off. It's sounded like three different fans kicked in and it got louder and louder. Also I would suggest that the side that there are chairs in the grass, they should put them on a patio like area just like the other side.
Nice updated and clean place to stay. This is not a luxury place by any means, but the location is great and the hotel has a lot of extras. The pool and hot tub were nice as was the free internet and breakfast. I would stay here again.
Excellent location close to the beach and to shops/restaurants. Staff were very friendly. Beach chairs and umbrellas were available to customers - a very nice touch for hot beach days!
Beach access, clean rooms really everything here is top notch. U can't beat this place for a great retreat and relaxation. There is nothing here not to like at all, period. Best place we ever stays at wit all the conveniences. Stay here!!!!!!!
Facilities were very nice, staff was exceptional, location great! My stay was too short!
We had a great first floor corner room facing the beach with a private deck. The room was exceptionally clean, well appointed, bright and cheery. The Inn offers beach towels and beach chairs. Pool area is relaxing. Breakfast is available in the lobby or you take it back to your room. Beach across the road....downtown is a nice walk with restaurants and shops. Great location! We will return!!!
Had such a great stay! Can't wait to come back. So peaceful and clean and perfect!
I was visiting from Chicago, so the hotel here compared to ones in Chicago just did not even compare. This hotel only has two floors with no elevator. Small rooms which were a bit outdated in my opinion. There were scratches and dents in the walls, some of the paint on the door frames were chipping. The wood on the chair was very worn out. It was not a dirty hotel at all, just a bit out dated and worn out. Good price for what was paid. Staff was extremely welcoming and helpful.
Did not like the sulphur smell of the water
Very comfortable beds and spacious room. Not a great breakfast buffet for 8 dollars.
Staff was friendly and very knowledgable about the area. The rooms were clean and the location was great. Not so much a complaint about the hotel as much as a complaint about the Kayak site and more to Priceline. When I booked the room, not a week later there was a deal for this very hotel through Groupon for a rate of $69.00 about $27 less than what I was paying. I contacted Priceline who advised that they would not honor this price and that I did not have a "price guarantee" for this room. My family and some friends plan to go back to the West Coast of Florida again in the Spring and next time I will book directly with the hotel and not use your site and definitely not ever use Priceline.
Great bed, excellent shower, nice kitchenette set up, hot jacuzzi and nice pool. Room was a bit small, but ok.
Night desk staff was excellent. Mishaps with housekeeping.
location on highway room was horribly located.....ice and vending right outside room, entrance from parking lot right outside door, maid station service area right outside room, stairway to second floor and other guests going up and coming down loudly on uncarpeted stairs right outside door, toilet flushing in room above and could hear this all night and early in morning....all this after requesting a quiet room. front desk would not move us as they said they were sold out, only to find out from other guests that they were indeed not and could have relocated us in front of later day arriving guests.. staff did not know how to replenish room of bathroom necessities, ie. toilet paper, hand soap, bath soap, shampoo. had to go to the front desk and they did not have proper substitutes and was given a commercial role of toilet paper the size of a small wheel, but was better than nothing
An addition of a hot tub would be nice
Design, pool area, Nothing
Nice hotel with comfy bed, nice pool and deck, and friendly staff. Included breakfast was OK. Saturday night musical entertainment at the pool was nice. Pool area is nice deck, bar in the evening, and the breakfast bar is located at poolside as well. Hotel also has security. This hotel is also a great location in Osprey, between Sarasota and Venice. Highway 41 gives you access to a lot of places. The fake eggs! But other items ok.
Great rates for a nice, comfortable and spacious room. Clean and neat facilities (i.e. swimming pool, gym and etc). Yes .. it's not on the beach ....I get that and I knew that before booking, but it's literally only 5 mins from Casey Key beach. I rather pay one forth of the price, be able to not have a minimum stay, and get more comfort than be right on the beach in these so called "resorts" . Besides, it was 15 mns North of Venice beach and 15mins south of Siesta Key. Perfect location in my opinion, if you plan on visiting other beaches during your stay. Also, this place offers Live music on the weekends right by the pool bar (which respectfully ends at 9:30pm) . Nothing nicer than just chill and relax by the pool after a busy and hot beach day...and few steps from your room. If you get the breakfast package, be careful. Make sure you go early (7:30-8:30am) otherwise you'll be waiting for at least an hour. The way it works with the brkfst package; you get vouchers for 1 entree and a drink inside the restaurant. Well, we went on a holiday weekend, and everyone and their mothers had vouchers too...beside it's a regular restaurant that outsiders can come in as well. Needless to say, there were not enough tables to accommodate everyone and only 2 servers on the floor to attend 50 something seats. There was no organization to form a waiting list or line (seemed like the hostess became the busboy), so people were walking around looking to see who was about to be finished, making it very uncomfortable for those who were eating, almost like people in cars trying to find a parking spot and asking other if they are leaving. Hotel staff could've been more proactive and have a more prepared staff. We skipped breakfast at the hotel on the second day.
Great rooms; comfortable; staff very helpful. Restauran wasn't open.
Overall good trip - beds very comfortable. Friendly staff. Breakfast was good. Shower was updated. Limited tv and assistance from customer service reps. They were nice just not knowledgeable. Maid service was incomplete as they left what we assumed were beach towels hanging instead of replacing. Left mismatched and not complete towel sets. Poor bathroom cleaning.
Room was situated as we requested. Hotel was very well run.
Rude desk clerk, botched reservation, paid for and had confirmed a king room with pull out sofa in den with a bay view for 4 adults. Received a king room , no pull out, no bay view, no price adjustment for king room only. Wound up with 2 roll aways which were a best adequate. Maintenance man, Sam was wonderful, unlike clerk, Annie who was rude and unhelpful.
Beautiful and extremely clean hotel. Everything seemed brand new. Very close to the beach and Venice historic area. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast too
Location. Great spot if you are staying in Venice or Sarasota.
Great hotel for the money! We were placed in the handicap room, and for some reason the shower was a lot smaller than other rooms we have stayed in.
HOTEL WAS CLEAN. POOL WAS NO FRILLS BUT WELL MAINTAINED. I WOULD STAY AGAIN IT IS CLOSE TO HIGHWAYS AND HAS SOME FAST FOOD IN WALKING DISTANCE.
The location was close to other places in Venice. All the staff were helpful and friendly. No complaints. I was surprised at the accommodations.
Very clean and neat Everything was great
Nice hotel for the money, rooms were great, courtyard area was fun and had plenty of activities and space. Good proximity to downtown Venice. My family and I were roomed near the front next to who I believe were either the ownership or maintenance crews room, and they spent much off the time standing outside of our room which was a little odd. Also the staff did not thank us or ask how our stay was when checking out. Could be a little friendlier.
Extremely well managed by owners
Well managed and clean
Here is something noone wrote in any of the reviews: Virage is located directly behind the Bentley Boutique hotel, and is run by the same people. I found it hilarious that Bentley's was more expensive, yet Virage uses all the same facilities. Room was clean, large and well done. The bathroom was a bit odd, as the sink was huge yet the faucet was only a inch away from the back wall. One - Bentley's charges your card in ADVANCE for any incidentals that you may charge. They don't inform you of this either. Its been 3 days and I still have the pending charge. Two- There were little things missing - None of the rooms have microwaves. there was no space to really put any shower supplies in the bathroom. Three - The staff, while nice, had this air of...I dont know, snarkyness? It was almost like they couldnt believe they had to deal with us at check in / check out. Four- There isn't a large sign on the road that lets you know where its located. There was a small white (maybe 2'x2' sign) that says "hotel", and thats it. If it wasnt for our GPS, we would have missed it.
Staff was friendly and caring. Bathroom very small and shampoo pouches almost impossible to open. Floor was dirty. Beds not very comfortable, no box spring.
Friendly staff accommodating Hopefully the new owners will upgrade the beds. Too thin and hard.
Close to everything. Clean, well kept and 10 times better (no comparison at all) with motel 6 in nearby Englewood. (We checked them both). The only problem was the EXTREMELY LOW water pressure in the sink and shower. And I am talking so low to the point where it was only dripping sometimes. No issues really.
Immaculate, quiet, children guests seemed to be enjoying the pool area during the day, other adults friendly and smiling.
The price When I made my reservation, yes it was last minute, I requested AND PAID IN ADVANCE for a non smoking room. When I checked in I was told there were NONE available. The room REEKED of smoke. I had the door wide open for hours, hoping that would help.. I finally had to leave and sleep in my car at 430 in the morning the room was so awful. Even the shower curtain while taking a shower reeked. I will NEVER pre pay again , so no more Kayak for me
Staff was very pleasant - rooms were kept clean. The facility was full. There was not enough seating for breakfast and the overflow overflowed even all the seats in the lobby. They should have opened another area that was next to the breakfast area - there were tables and chairs available in that room. Children were sitting eating their cereal sitting on the arms of the chairs and sofas.
Decent breakfast. Was initially placed in a handicapped room without being notified. Always prefer a bathroom COUNTER.
Our room was very clean. Room size was good. For the price the room was nicer than I would have expected. We liked that the room was tiled and floor was moped daily. Kids enjoyed the pool. We plan on returning. Close to the beach. Room needs blackout curtains.
Located blocks from great shopping in downtown Venice. It was clean and so was the pool. Our bedroom had two double beds but was a bit cramped. The bathroom had a stand up shower but was very small.
There was a blood stain on the carpet, exposed wiring and piping in the wall. The place barely looked clean. My reservation was bumped up by a full day due to checking in a couple hours early. The manager was brusque and curt, and the staff though nice, but not very knowledgeable.
