This is fantastic place to stay when you are not in rush and want to disconnect from stress. I was on business and it was ok for the purpose. Hotel staff was more than helpful. They just opened the place two weeks ago. Restaurant food was terrific. They make their own bred and few different types. Overall, I highly recommend this place.
Countryside view and breakfast were lovely. Staff communicated in English. Internet was non-existent to very-slow. We were vacationing and had a very difficult time sending occasional updates to folks back home. The hotel is well-priced but became more expensive than desired after factoring in transit to and from the city and airport. (Staying in the city and paying a bit more for a hotel is a better option if you want to enjoy the city.) No English channels or English subtitles available. Very thin walls, but thankfully, no one in the adjoining room until the last day of our stay. Everything sufficient. Location was a draw-back since we were there to enjoy the city. If you want to countryside retreat, this place my be a good option. Restaurant was overpriced. Other close restaurants but walking is dangerous as a result of no sidewalk and crazy Roman drivers!
The hotel had big electric gates which you couldn't get into without a pass so we felt very safe staying there which was great for 4 young girls. You had to be back before 11pm otherwise you weren't allowed in.
very qiuet place, nice garden very simple breakfast
A heartfelt, lovely hospitality - something special to be experienced. A warm and glad atmosphere and a safe surrounding especially for people travelling by car. A perfect location re Rome.
Lovely sisters kongregatione Nostra Signora. From airport Ciampino - bus Cotral - metro Anagnina (in) - metro Valle Aurelia (out) - tranin FR3 to Viterbo, station La Storta (out), bus 201 direction down the street to bus stop name Cerquetta. -
Very good value for money, clean, well connected to city, excellent for families The hotel is run by nuns and has a policy of closing doors at 11 pm. No keys for guests. Also, they make you feel miserable for wanting to get back after 11 pm. No sign of this policy on Hotelbooking.com, it simply states: "Reception is closed between 23:00 and 07:00. Check-in and check-out during these hours must be arranged with the hotel" which does not refer to already "checked in" guests who should presumably be self sufficient in getting in and out at any hour (at least by foot). It is a pretty serious fault to me.
Friendliness of the Sisters and peaceful location
The helpfulness of the staff and the serenity and cleanliness of the place. The showers were in the bathtub and no curtains. Therefore, the water got all over the bathroom.
The perfect location in peaceful environment, about 20 km from the center of Rome and about 5 km from the railway station in Cesano, familiar atmosphere, spacious and comfortable rooms... Breakfast was a bit boring and bar facilities at bit 'hit and miss'.
Good kitchen Some problem for hot water
Location, large rooms. Beds made and towels changed in a self catering apartment, very good. This was a self catering apartment for upto 4 people. It had only one eating knife and no corkscrew or matches for the gas cooker.
Lovely views, stress free and breakfast. No lighting outside room and a step up to the balcony which cannot be seen in the dark effectively blocking pathway.
Friendly staff, Nice view and very quiet. Excellent dinner fascilities Poor breakfest, no buffet (may be better when the hotel is fully booked.); English of staff good be better. One day the room was not cleaned.
It was a simple hotel, location was nice and staff nearly non-existent as their main business is the restaurant with good food and a very nice view. Breakfast was minimal, which should improve if they want to cater for international or business travelers. Did not expect more than we received.
I liked the view and rusticality of rooms. Staff didn't know that we were coming
Large room and quiet. The washing machine in the room was a bonus. The food in the restaurant was amazing. No internet available.
Excellent personal, good service, wonderful view and beautiful territory no condition in the room
It's outside of Rome center and therefore quieter than most other. If you do not mind the church bells in the morning its a great place.Very friendly and accomodating staff. Free parking. The restaurant is open until late in the evening, so if you come back to the hotel late you still get a great meal. No air-conditioning in the room.
If you like peaceful this is it, coupled with a very helpful and willing manager. The local area is lovely, ideal for walkers. There is a glorious lake within easy reach and the food in the lakeside resturants can be fabulous even for vegitarians like my wife. Rome centre is within a half hour by train which is by far the best way to go. All in all a lovely and economic spot. I'm big so the shower was a bit of a challenge but hey lifes not perfect.
I enjoyed not being in the central part of Rome and the bus system into Rome was excellent! The bathrooms are very small, especially the shower.
A perfect location to stay in the Italian countryside and visit Rome quickly and cheaply on public transport. The staff are most helpful and the meals good value.
Beautiful scenery, overlooking a nature reserve. We could walk to a waterfall and Etruscan archeological site. The early morning atmosphere was great - birds, clear skies, crisp air. The food was great, and everyone was very friendly. Just be aware that it takes about an hour or more to get to Termini station - a local bus, a local train, then the Metro. But, the owners gave us a lift to the train station twice!
The location very quiet and safe. We are not far from the city centre, abt 1 hour by bus ten by subway
This is like living in a house and you are a member of the family. Like the friendlyness and availability of the reception. Breakfast too poor and no choice at all. All prepacked biscuits/toasted bread, jam and butter and coffee or tea, no more no less.
No airco (wad indicated in the description) and ppor breakfast.
It was clean, attractive, quiet, and the food was excellent. No, it was great. The travel into the city centre was a bit long but definitely reasonable (1 euro each way) and besides we knew about it ahead of time...we did not want to deal with traffic as we were driving. This place was easy to find and easy to get out of the next day.
Staff were very helpful... Small, no room service or no way to get tea or coffee after 10:00am, no service available at night.
It was a family run hotel, and the Son (I didn't get his name) was very welcoming, helpful and informative. Also the lady on reception was very helpful and friendly. The only thing I would suggest would be that the choice of food at breakfast could be widened to suit people from Ireland/England/Germany in that they include little things like boiled eggs/selection of cheeses and meats like ham etc
staff offered quality service and rooms were spotlessly clean no lifts, dessert buffet for breakfast, far out from the city centre
The corridors of the Hotel need to be improved upon. The welcoming odor is bad Try out good air fresher with the corridors
Nice clean hotel and friendly staff. Terrible location and a long way out of Rome. Limited public transport at night. Poor choice for breakfast.
Rooms were very nice and modern and very clean The location is kinda of far, would suggest getting there in the day to see where you are going. But since the hotel is so nice it was worth it.
Since my purpose was to spend time with people in the La Storta neighborhood of Rome, Hotel Cassia was perfect for me. I found the staff very welcoming, friendly, and professional. The hotel was immaculate and well maintained. Breakfast was plentiful and, contrary to what others have written, it is possible to avoid sweets if you so choose. I had a counrtyside view of the pines of Rome from my balcony, an unexpected perk. It was good that I travel light because there was very little storage space in my room, neither a dresser with drawers nor a rack to put my suitcase. There was a small open space with shelves on the bottom holding an extra blanket and a room safe, and a rack on top with non-removable plastic hangers. Still, I would choose Hotel Cassia again.
hotel staff offered a very good quality service it's a little bit far from the city center and there is no elevator
Excellent staff at Cassia Hotel. All you need in a hotel. Good Parking. Internet Service. Staff very helpful in directing us to use public transport. Ticket for public transport available from hotel reception.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is located about 15kms from the centre of Rome and driving in is not too difficult plus you could if you wish take the train. The hotel is clean and quite well maintained and it has good covered private parking. Breakfast was a cold buffet but reasonably adequate. As with hotels in Greece where we live and in this case the rate paid is high on a value for money basis compared to a hotel we stayed in recently in Germany. However of its type and based upon the price paremeters of the Italian market it is quite good.
