Quality of services, the diner
The hotel staff were great and helpful The location. The village of Orio is too tuned to Tourists and tries to rip them off.
location close to the beach. Poor information on distances to San Sebastian and nearby restaurants. The hotel staff should take a hotel management ond customer service course. The rooms were clean, but the hotel lobby and the hotel grounds outside was in a terrible state, considering our stay was in the high season.
Quite clean, quite big room, not noisy. The parking for the car in period not summer are free. There is one pc you can use with connection. The room and the spa are a bit shabby.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The equipment at the fitness center was quite poor.
Clean and comfortable hotel close to the beach. Very helpful and friendly receptionist Because of the people going to the beach there was very limited parking close to the hotel when we arrived mid afternoon. After 20.00 hours parking was available and free until 10.00 next day
water program quality of facilities and location
Best value for money
Warm friendly welcome. Nicely furnished rooms. Good value for money.
Comfortable, breakfast not up to much. Breakfast.
Beautiful grand building one road removed from the beach. Very friendly staff and the twin room we were in had two double beds and dual aspect windows looking over the sea and the mountains behind. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the catering. Nothing... all good
Ease of parking, friendly staff.
It had a great location: not far away both from the train station and from the beach and for a single room, my room was quite big and even had a cosy balcony. As most houses in Spain seem to be, it was a bit clairaudient.
The staff was very professional, courteous, and helpful. The location of the hotel was close to the beach. No
The resturant was very good value adn the room were lovely and clean. Staff very helpful
Would be good if they had a kettle
The display extraordinary art works to please the eyes of the guests. They have enough parking lots in low season, but not enough for high season guests.
Quality hotel with right attention to detail throughout. Facilities provided were very good. Staff were excellent. Minor point but garden flower beds needed attention! There should be hard pavement from front door to car park as gravel is not good for ladies' heels.
Architecture, location and facilities just superb The rooms are a designer's dream, but a glass wall between the bedroom and the bathroom? No.
Beautiful ambience with welcoming staff. I was sorry to leave.
Its a very nice, quite hotel with a beautifull vieuw. Great large rooms, very nicely styled. As well as the lounge/lobby area. The small town Getaria nearby has some excellent fish restaurants! The only disadvantage is that they only serve small things for lunch and dinner in the room, not at the terras or lounge.
Everything. It was the best hotel I have ever stayed. Very luxury but intimate and friendly. The environment was very relaxing and the view from the hotel was great. We asked the hotel receptinist to ordered a taxi to go to a local village nd they organised a chauffeur driven car, which was more than 3 times as expenssive as a nomal taxi.
beautiful place and location. very well designed rooms and wonderful pool area quite expensive and not delivering the service and amenities expected for luxury accommodation
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful No restaurant. Open plan bedroom, bathroom and toilet
Clean with plenty of free parking and close to main road. A bit of a walk to the station, but still good access to San Sebastian. Nextdoor cafe does a good breakfast at around. Also close (15min walk) to restaurant Martin Berasatgui While the room was OK, I felt we were given the worse one on the floor through booking on line
Comfortable, clean, great prices, easy access to San Sebastian by car, train or bus. Hotel staff was very helpful. Was perfect for our little getaway. Beds were comfortable and the room had a flat screen tv with cable.
nice hotel and nice stuff it is expencive for what it offers
Quick to get to from the autoroute. Good stop off point if travelling through France to Spain.
Very convenient to buses for San Sebastian. Good restaurant next door.
price--given summer season. A bit difficult to find.
5km far from Donostia, helpful and nice staff, huge room, free parking no air conditioning, soft pillows
The beds of the triple room were big, good quality/price
This hotel has no aircon. It is impossible to sleep without the windows open, and then it is impossible to sleep because of the traffic noise from the nearby highway. Avoid this hotel in summer.
We found the staff very helpful and friendly. We thought the restaurant prices a little expensive.
Very friendly owners. Everything you need was available.
Very friendly people, they only speak Spanish but do their utmost to make themselves understandable. Room is clean but too small, would recommend not to stay more than 2 nights, there is no tv nor radio and no coffee/tea making facilities. Would like to have facility without extra costs to make coffee/tea. Breakfast was ok but too expensive for what it is.
Very friendly owner, very beautiful and quiet area, close to major cities, free wifi in public rooms. the walls are very thin and you can hear every noise like flushing a toilet, but there was a "time of absolute silence" between midnight and 8 pm which was nice
Rosa & Miquel were delightful hosts. The rooms were comfortable and quiet and the surroundings were beautiful. The evening meal we had was home cooked and delicious. A full length mirrot somewhere would have been useful.
Lovely setting, room and staff. Space in guest fridge and use of dining room and living room. Hard to find, though that's not unusual in a hilly village. Locals will point the way for you!
Nice and quiet environment. Frendly staff. Poor Communication ability in English.
A good-sized modern appartment - very clean with very good kitchen facilities. Very friendly hosts. Facilities in the village including great bread and croissants. Possible limitations are that the appartment has no balcony, and the only toilet is not separate to the bathroom. These didn't detract significantly from a very enjoyable stay.
Quietness, calm environment and the hospitality no TV
Although a bit lost in the countryside, this is a good place to stay: not too far from the beaches and, if you like walking and hilly countryside, this is for you. The staff were friendly and helpful. A bit difficult to find (Tom Tom ...) on arrival and the owners only speak Spanish and Basque but we coped.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, very nice rooms - seems like a three star, not a two. A little pricey compared to similar hotels elsewhere. No internet computer available.
Great location, only 200 meters from the beach. Walking distance to old town for pintxos and restaurants. Quality of buffet breakfast changed from morning to morning.
The room was very spacious, clean, pleasant and attractively appointed. It had a refrigerator. The hotel was close to the beach and to many other attractive areas. The dining room was very pleasant and the food was good. The staff was very helpful, friendly and spoke some English. We loved it.
Friendly staff , nice atmosphere.
Great location, beach was in close proximity. Wonderful staff who spoke english and were as helpful as possible
The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. However I found the hotel expensiv in regard to its standard, but its location close to the centre and the beach may explain that. The hotelroom smelled of smoke from a previous guest.
The friendliness and coopertion of the staff and the location Smell of smoke when first arrived in the bedroom
The staff friendly and helpful. Limited english spoken but enough. Buffet breakfast great.
very clean good sized rooms and exellent staff and a great breakfast
rooms were great. view was great. design was interesting. shower was second rate.horrible. charging for breakfast, especially when paying what we paid for a room, is unappreciated. the lack of nearby parking is not great and navigating that alley was not overly fun (but not huge issues). price-wise, it was also a bit expensive. the website made it seem like there was a restaurant onsite.
The view was amazing and the staff were very friendly
Excellent sea views. bright and cheerful in a very charming old seaside fishing port village. Very helpfull staff. Highly recommended.
Very friendly and helpfull staff! beautiful rooms in a very nice little street of Getaria. In our room we could hear the hallway and the stairs quite loudly.
Fabulous view, great furnishing and carpets in public areas. Breakfast was excellent and all my questions wre answered perfectly in English which was very helpful. My only negative was I could hear every door bang and step on the stairs.
amazing location, the sound of waves
the hotel was a surprise as its position in a very narrow street gives an awkward first impression but inside it is a beauty. a combination of antique and modern give it a fresh and cozy look. rooms were excellent. then the view at the back is breath taking. the dining room and living room on second floor overlook the atlantic ocean and the greenery, typical of asturias in spain. well worth the stay, pity we could stay only one night. 2 star is a very low rating for this hotel, it deserves more.
The hotel staff were excellent and the seaside views from our room were unbelievable. The town seemed small with little to do at first but with a bit more exploring it was great. Walk to nearby Zaurutz and the Getaria wineries for outstanding views and great exercise.
absolutely everything! More than friendly staff, perfectly clean rooms, ideal design, attention to details, breathtaking views, heaps of facilities, The best hotel i have ever stayed in! -----
Peaceful sea view with easy access to all restaurants. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Upgrade to sea view most important.
Nice place A bit noisy
I have been staying here for a number of years and always find it very welcoming, excellent location for beach and shopping, brilliant tapas and very good dinner menu
nothing really...central location but dead noisy! sheets were not clean (hairs...), the room was very small, the noise from outside and from the hotel (apparently not insulated) : a lot of doors banging until 3 in the morning. Then rooster waking up at 4:30...
There was nothing to like about the ´Hotel´ apart from the town itself which was very nice This has to be classed as one of the worst ´Hotels´ we have ever stayed in, booking out could not have come sooner. The only good point about the ´hotel´ was it was close to the beach. The ´hotel´ (if you could call it that) was grubby, the reception had a lot to be desired, so we guessed what the room would be like. I have stayed in a 1 star hostel that was better than this place. There was doors banging all night, the room was like a shoe box- just grubby and very unwelcoming. The bathroom was just as unwelcoming to use, the shower grubby. The bathroom door had a gap of at least 6 inches at the bottom, so no privacy and the fan in the bathroom was so noisy that we could hear other folks using their bathroom during the night.
The room was clean and the hotel is in a central location which is what I required. I have now been allocated the same room for the last two years as I require a singkle room, however you can not walk around the room easily as it is so small and the window opens in to the room ( Room 26)
great location, good service
We didn't like this hotel. Rooms were tiny, not very clean, very noisy and we heard all our neighbors. Hotel is very over priced. Cleanliness, location, noise
Great Location near the action and right by the city of Getaria. Too much noise every night so we were not able to sleep well. The room was just too small for 2 people. Did not change the linenes often.
The owner and staff were excellant, they could not do enough for you.they also speak English and french. It was so close to bars Restos and the beach Maybe a kettle in the room would be good for a cup of tea or coffee
I had phoned from France to advise that we would be arriving late. The lady who took my call was very friendly and professional, and said that that would not be a problem. On our arrival at 10.30pm our welcome was very warm and friendly, and my 2 children (6 and 8) were made to feel at home. Service the next day was perfect: efficient, friendly and sincere. On hearing that we would be spending all day motoring, the manageress produced a packet of sweets for each of the children ("for the journey") unprompted and at no charge. Great location near the church and handy for a cobbled "tapas zone". Clean, friendly, quiet, comfortable this hotel is an absolute gem. Highly recommended. The only downside seemed to be the difficulty of finding a parking space nearby, but then we did arrive late at night.
Very friendly and helpful receptionist; good location at edge of historic core; walking to port, beach, old city, restaurants. Room was on an airshaft and dark. Receptionist said other rooms were noisy due to plumbing.
great bathroom, comfortable room rooms not ready upon arrival, even though arrived at 3.30pm
Spacious, comfortable and clean rooms. Welcoming staff. Excellent breakfast. The hotel was a bit tricky to find during the major road works nearby.
Character of building. Space and cleanliness of room. It's really unfortunate that the lovely building is sandwiched between industrial warehouses and a highway, which makes it more like a motel rather than a mountain/countryside hotel. Luckily the windows seal quite well so there wasn't much noise from outside. However, the rooms and doors aren't very sound proof so you could hear cleaning upstairs or preparations for breakfast outside. The shower screen in our bathroom is in need of repair as it looks as though it could break off if not careful.
It was a very comfortable hotel and the staff (English speaking) were very helpful. A very interesting building in an unusual position! No
The staff in the hotel were very friendly and in the cafe/bar next door. Its proximity to San Sebastian and the building is really lovely. It was very clean and excellent value for money. Catch a bus into San Sebasitian it only cost 1.30 euros and a taxi back is only 18 euros so not bad, but look in the town for a couple of bards and restaurants. We were near the reception area and it was a little noisy in the morning when they started serving breakfast, but that is really nit picking.
The value for money is great, very simple & modest but charming. The location at first looks a bit distant from Donostia but the village has its charm. It is very relaxing. The food is great (dinner & b-fast) and the staff is lovely. We really enjoyed the experience. If you are looking for something simple, calm & realaxing on the countryside of the Pais Vasco it is a great choice! The noise from the highway.
Nice and helpful people. Fascinating building. The location of the hotel, behind a tall hedge with respect to the main road and on a rise above the access road allied to the very limited signage identifying the hotel, made locating it difficult. The GPS was not helpful.
The evening meal was excellent. Room was spacious and clean. Comfy bed. Receptionist was very friendly and got up extra early for us to have breakfast. Most important though - our little dog was made welcome! On road parking - not secure parking.
The bedroom was huge and designed to be totally unique. Jose was extremely helpful and friendly. Ask him for a guided tour of the Cider Factory in the nearby mountains - scenery is spectacular!
the staff were amazing
Ideal location in Getaria. Great beach and several outstanding seafood restaurants in town. This is a small picturesque fishing village. Also note that parking is free on the road going up the hill opposite to the town. no
The lady of the house was very gracious and knowledgeable.
Clean and modern room, nice hosts even though we didn't speak Spanish and they didn't speak English!!
Great location, and great key system for room nice new hotel with modern facilities and free wireless. Place looked very shut up when we arrived and had to wait for 2 hours for someone to turn up before we could check in. So we couldn't even leave our bags. Even when we were checked in we seemed like an inconvenience.
clean, attractive, friendly no
The hotel staff were very friendly - room a little small - but it is a medival city & you are inside the wall
Hotel excellent. Staff excellent. Central to activities of Zarautz. Much better than expected! Unloading/loading luggage from car was a problem.
Staff not nice
nice bathroom renovated far from San Sebastian, not cheap for that distance
Staff were very helpful with information on restaurants. Though it's out of the city, it's very convenient as there are buses to city centre. Bus stop is about 40m from the hotel. We made the mistake of paying for car park in a garage. There is no need as there are free car parks behind the hotel. Room is quite dingy and dark.
Helpfulness in suggestions on using public transport giving access to places we wanted to visit.
Parkin prize: just 6,00€ (you don´t have where to park ...) Noise from the national road and the room has too much light during night
This is a family run hotel and the staff are very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good. There was a cheap, frequent and efficient bus service into San Sebastian from a stop 2 minutes walk away.
nice location, near big shopping mall and easy access to main routes
Quiet and affordable alternative to the heart of San Sebastian
Room is clean, LCD tv, helpful lady in reception. No chance to eat something for a dinner close to hotel, poor breakfast, expensive parking (9,00 €/day).
Very good value for money. Easily accessable to the centre of San Sebastian by bus and by train.
