Great location. Rooms have a small fridge with freezer, two burner stove, toaster, coffee maker, dishes and some pots and pans. Large rooms and large balcony. We had a "mountain view" which was cheaper and looked towards the river, but with a parking lot and pool in between, but still lots of mountain to be seen! Heat pump fan could not be set to stay on all the time so it woke us up over and over again throughout the night. Room became far too warm to sleep if we turned it off. Carpets, walls, bathroom grout, etc. need scrubbing, but counters, sheets etc seemed clean.
We were originally given a room that already had someone in it.
I called to change my reservation from 2 nights to 1 and the person on the phone told me I had to cancel the whole reservation and re-reserve. When she went to re-reserve a room for the one night there were no rooms available. Odd because I just cancelled the resrvation. Too bad the system doesn't update quickly enough to show the available room. Too bad I did not get to stay there at all. Very bummed.
Location Very old sheets, old Capet old everything
Great location right outside the park. Rooms are clean and enjoyed having the kitchenette during our stay. The restaurant is also surprisingly decent and convenient. Biggest downside is the Internet situation. Internet is not included but can be purchased for $9.99 for a 24 hour period. Fine, we paid but only to realize only one device at a time was allowed to connect and you have to go through a process to disconnect one and than connect another. Super lame.
Located just outside Yosemite entrance. Clean and comfortable, if a bit dated.
Room was unique with a loft area. Good location very close to Yosemite. Room was facing the highway with a lot of noise. No view at all.
river view room was great needs a little sprucing up-ice machines inoperative-general room conditions could stand some improvements
Kitchenette was nice.
perfect location, nice to have the kitchenette, fine view, comfortable room room needs updating. one stove burner did not work.
The location is the best for exploring Yosemite, about 10 minutes from the valley. We have had good experiences with this property in the past. This is the second time in a row we have been stuck in the front building next to the highway instead of one of the many buildings overlooking the Merced river. The worst part however was that the power went out around 9:30 PM and there was no phones or generator to operate safety lights. Of course everything is electric powered including the kitchenette, heater and phone. No way to heat food, no way to heat the room in the sub-freezing temperature and no way to call the front desk or for help in an emergency. I dont know what time the power came back on because we fell asleep about 2 hours into the outage since there was nothing to do but lay in the total darkness!
It is a beautiful setting. Our sliding doors opened up to the river. The pizza restauraunt was good. The breakfast buffet at the other restaurant was ok. We did not try more on the menu. The place was in bad repair. One of the electric burners in the kitchenette didn't heat, and when I moved the pan, it sent out sparks. The people above us overflowed their tub. When I called to report the water coming through our bathroom ceiling, the said they knew about it, and were dealing with it. They never came by or called back to check the status of our room. I found a clothing article from a previous guest on the floor, making me wonder how thorougly they had cleaned. I found out that the washing of the dishes in the kitchenette was our responsibility, and that there was no professional sanitizing of the dishes between guests. This place looks like it was nice when it was first built, but now it is not properly cared for, and has sunk below the level of a motel 6 stay. The natural setting on the river is the only thing it has going for it.
Food at restaurant was so so
$1.80 for a cup of crappy coffee in the lobby. Why not complimentary?
Great location close to Yosemite park entrance. Nicely located across from the river. Pleasant outdoor areas, including the area on the river. The restaurant was just 'okay'. Our delux room with 2 queen beds and a sofa had only one chair. We would have liked an option with one queen or king bed, a sofa , and a table with 2 chairs. We are a mature couple no children traveling with us. Also, the refrigerator was nice to have but very noisy. We ended up unplugging it.
The service at the front desk, store, bar, restaurant was all around excellent. Everyone was very friendly and super accommodating. The room was clean and quiet. Not too far from Yosemite Nat'l Park. We go to Yosemite every year and I'll definitely stay at Cedar Lodge again.
Room was clean and confortable There was an extra charge for WiFi which was not disclosed until after you booked the reservation. The restaurant did not open for breakfast until 7:30 and lacked variety in the choices.
Spacious and clean room No cellular service and wifi is not free after you pay $200 per night or more. After paying $10 for 24hrs wifi still it doesn't work well.
Cheap price compared to the other accommodation. Pretty close to Yosemite. Easy check in /check out . No phone reception . No wifi . The room is pretty old , but everything is working . The fans and the heaters are really loud . Even if your neighbors turn them on . But I would stay there again anyways .
You could tell that the room was cleaned regularly, but everything (bed, chairs, shower, etc) was well traveled. Quiet location with close proximity to the valley. Onsite dining isn't great, but the convenience is nice.
Had everything we needed in one place
I like the fact that it was close to Yosemite National Park and that it was about a 15 minute drive there. I enjoyed the look of the whole place especially with all the bears around. I enjoyed all of the surroundings view. The food there was GREAT!!! From the buffet to the bar and grill. Fast service and well worth the costs. The staff was great and gave out great information and did not sugar coat anything. Very helpful when it came to information. My wife and I really enjoyed the picnic are across the street we really enjoyed the river and the picnic table there. Very romantic and very quiet area. I did not like the fact of paying for a king size room and getting a room with 2 queen beds and over the top of the banquet area where my wife and I had to hear the music and the actual party. They should have taken that in consideration when they gave us the room. i did like the fact of no cell phone signal let alone wifi that is as slow as dial up, but that has nothing to do with the lodge, that's just the location. I did not like that they did not have Coke to drink. A little more variety to drink would have been nice.
I liked the overall comfort of all amenities hotel offers. And how inexpensive the hotel costs. I did not like how staff did not inform me of restaurant hours and not very welcoming . Needs better staff attitude and more ways to inform public of their hotel amenities. Also there is no wifi and no cell phone coverage.

Had a Bed and breakfast feel but still had the privacy of a hotel room. Walking distance to great food and quaint shops. It was still about an hour drive to Yosemite but the nicest on the outskirtsz
right downtown in walking distance to everything
Location. Size of the room. Walk in shower. My overall experience was affected primarily by the noisy tenants above! It wasn't the room itself. Very impressed. Our unfortunate experience was upstairs noisy neighbors up most of the night. I was awakened several times!
good stop over before Yosemite. Very clean and the people are very nice.
Location from town. Would not like some of the front rooms, we were in the back.
There was nothing we did not like. We enjoyed our stay.
good value no time for breakfast
Restaurant was very nice for a small town and extremely friendly waitress. Air conditioner in the room did not work at check in. When I told them about it they jumped right on it and got it fixed right away, great job.
We paid extra for an in-room spa that did not work and I am still trying to get a refund.
The staff was very nice and helpful. Located right in the heart of Mariposa so you can walk to shops and restaurants. Bed was very comfortable. It was a little pricey for room, but to be fair it was July.
Location, towels and bed. Overpriced for what it is.
Walkable distance to restaurants and shops. Not too far from Yosemite. Room was clean. Owner was nice and helpful. Smell of curry everywhere is a restaurant. Room was right next to the lobby and the elevator. Kinda noisy. When we asked for another room, we were taold all the other rooms were dirty. Windows were facing the sidewalk. Vending machines are not working, had to ask the owner for assistance. Didn't have a microwave in the room, although it was supposed to be there.
A nice clean hotel. Great location, great value for the money.
Clean, well maintained, friendly staff, continental breakfast well done, and multiple restaurants and cute stores within a few blocks walking distance.
The check in staff was great, the lady who oversees the breakfast was amazing..... So super helpful!!! I would go back and stay again!!!! Hot tub was closed becuase of winter : (
Nasty carpet. Bad products. Bad breakfast. Not worth the money
The hotel is located at the end of Mariposa and within walking distance from shops and restaurants. The hotel staff was fantastic. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful when needed. At breakfast, although the room was packed, the crew kept the place clean and well stocked. Will stay again and recommend to others.
Tidy overall. polyester bedding is not very comfortable. Hotel has good amenities just not high quality ones. Water pressure was not good. Breakfast was sufficient but definitely not exceptional. Reasonable price. Plenty of family friendly amenities. Clean. Tolerable driving distance to Yosemite Valley. Free breakfast.
My husband and I stayed one night at this lovely little inn. We loved it - the room was comfortable and clean. It was right in the middle of this little town and we enjoyed walking around and exploring Mariposa. This may seem like a strange thing to mention, but the towels were extremely soft, which is rare in my experience with hotels/inns. When you're washing your face, it makes a difference to not feel a scratchy towel on your skin...little things go a long way. The women who run the inn were fantastic - super friendly and gave us great advice about visiting Yosemite. I would definitely stay here again. The shower was very snug, which wasn't a problem for me, but I could see that it might be a problem if I were older and/or required more room to maneuver. It didn't detract for my overall experience though.
Love the wonderful breakfast. They also give me lots of helpful information and the snacks and bottle water really make me feel like stay at home.
Wow. This was our first B&B and we were wowed. Joy indeed lives up to her name and made sure that all the guests felt right at home. It showed as the guests mingled beautifully. Ah, to wake up to the sound of wild turkeys and incredible breakfasts. Hope to meet Clay next time.
Can't believe how lucky I was to find and spend 3 days at Joy and Clay's lovely B&B, Yosemite Bed and Breakfast. Our room, The Sierra Room, was both private and well stocked. All the rooms have private entrances and bathrooms. The rooms are also air-conditioned, which is an important option when it really heats up. High speed internet, helps you keep in touch, if you'd like, ot the outside world. And, if you choose, you can watch satellite tv or a dvd, in your room. The grounds are well kept with plenty of seating options to enjoy the outdoors setting, including a Barbecue grill for evening cooking. I absolutely loved having my morning coffee outside while watching the little territorial humming birds zip around the feeders. The cottage has a full kitchen and a lovely view of the canyon below. The pool was a fun option for my sons for cooling off in the warm summer weather. Breakfasts were a full American style, delicious breakfast served on fine china. What a treat. You are about 40 minutes from Yosemite Nat'l Park and after spending a day in an , although lovely, yet tourist filled, park, I can't imagine a better place to rest-up for each new days adventure. It's obvious, once you've spent a night there, that ABC and XYZ have thought of everything that you'd need to feel welcome and relaxed at their B&B. Can't wait to come back. Even my 10 and 12 year old sons are wondering when we will come back again. Soon I hope.
The place is fantastic! Awsome, friendly people, out of the way, and quite. Its about 45 min. to inside the park, but very nice to get away from the business of the valley, at Yosmite.. Great morning breakfast too! this place goes great with the overall experience of the National Park. it s just beatiful!! they make you feel right at home. Thanks Joy and Clay, we hope to be back in the future!'
Hotel Employee were phenomenal. The breakfasts were so delicious. And the room was quiet, clean, private. LOVED the quiet and birds on the back deck. We SO enjoyed this place!
This was such a wonderful experience that I must begin with the owner's comment when my wife and I arrived late after a very trying journey through the high Sierras. He said 'hello, you must be tired from your travels, let me show you to your room' I have travelled around the United States and have had the pleasure of staying in some very fine establishments but I never had anyone say that to me . The room was wonderfully appointed with way more than we could ever use, splendidly clean and famously comfortable and deliciously quiet. Then came breakfast, so wonderful with so many home made side dishes, fresh fruit, great company in their kitchen looking out the bay window to the Sierras that I could have remained there all day. At night we sat out on their expansive deck looking at the stars in our universe in the quiet, then we went to bed, then we hated to leave. I felt like I was leaving my own home . Don't wonder what this will be like, just enjoy it.
Fantastic experience, great hosts, visiting deer every morning. mariposa was very nice area also.
Awesom little motel in the heart of Yosemite Country. Accross the street from dining, (some expensive, but worth it). Clean, comfortable and CHEAP rooms in a beautiful setting compared to most regular motels.Ask for the corner room in the courtyard by the gazebo, especially if you have a dog with you. Burger King and mini mart a block away, 30 minutes from Yosemite entrance.
The lodge is perfect for a trip to Yosemite. Very clean and well kept. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Grounds are like a professional garden, rooms are very cozy & quiet. A great get-away or stop-over. town of Mariposa is very nice.'
Recommend this place to anyone. Cheaper than the chain motels in town and has really nice rooms.
Close to great places to eat. No need to drive around once their.
Mariposa is a delightful, small community in the wooded foothills of the Sierras. The hotel is middle aged but clean and really quite pleasant. While the rooms exit into the parking area, the hotel consists of two courtyards, both of which are removed from the street and have trees and shrubs. It is a beautiful, 30 minute drive from the Yosemite Valley. We would definately stay there again.
The beds were great, just like they said. They lived up to my expectations. I had to book for work and would consider bringing my family here. The only concern is that the walls a thin and you might hear a little from the next room. I have a big truck and it's hard to park and this was easy for me.
Comfortable, and simple accomodations. We were happy.
Awesom little motel in the heart of Yosemite Country. Accross the street from dining, (some expensive, but worth it). Clean, comfortable and CHEAP rooms in a beautiful setting compared to most regular motels. Ask for the corner room in the courtyard by the gazebo, especially if you have a dog with you. I know my title seems a little overboard, but I'll tell you why. The neighborhood, is soooo freaking cute and in this freaking cute neighborhood is an even cuter hotel with the smallest freaking pool imaginable, but its okay, because everything else is just so... FREAKIN' CUTE! Rooms were clean, front desk was nice, humming birds... doing humming bird things, everything was great.
Great place to stay, very close to Park. Staff was very helpful and friendly, as they guided us to Happy burger. would recommend this place to anyone headed to Yosemite.
The Queen size bed was too hard. Otherwise everything else was satisfactory.
Old hotel with lots of problems. It needs updating and renovation. TV really didnt work at all and when we told them, the front dest woman just smiled at us and said they were in the process of updating all of the TV's and this room would be at the top of the list. Well I guess we should have asked what that means cuz we never received a replacement. The plumbing is old and leaky and They forgot to stock our room with coffee one day and the building is so old and dilapidated that when the people next door walked in their room or shut their door, it sounded like a construction crew was demolishing the hotel! I suggest staying eslewhere. Most other hotels will respond to their guests needs better. The only good thing about this hotel is their proximity to Yosemite and that is still an hour drive to Yosemite valley. We wont be staying here again.
Our room had been recently updated, and was very comfortable. Decor was nice. Food was nearby. Walking in the park was very convenient. Good location. The staff at the front desk was for the most part very helpful. But not always!
Amazing location, really nice facilities, very cute and quaint Nothing, was perfect.
Incredible location so close to Yosemite Falls and we could see half dome from our back deck! The room was rustic, which was perfect for the location, and very clean. A little pricey, but so worth the location!
It's not very sound-proof. Every sound from the rooms around me (top and sides) was heard, making it hard to sleep or relax while in the room. Every morning I was woken up by screaming children at 6am or kept awake by loud, booming voices at night.
We always enjoy staying at the Wawona Hotel. It takes you back to a time when life was a little simpler. The hotel was built in 1876 and has a rustic charm to it. . It is a nice place to stay while exploring the rest of Yosemite Park. In the evening you can sit in the parlor and listen to Tom Bopp play the piano and tell stories while enjoying a drink or dessert.
Restaurant: not a good value for money. Food is okay but a bit too expensive for what it is (but for Yosemite I believe it's one of the best options)
Very good deal for the cost. Rooms generously large with multiple beds. Pool on premises. Breakfast included. Great location. Large screen TV with multiple channels. A/C. Staff were very helpful when I called to let them know I had left a pair of shoes behind. Nothing.
This is one of the most affordable hotels you can find for staying near Yosemite National Park. If you're headed into the valley, it's a 45-60 minute drive. The room was clean, the sheets and towels were fresh, and there was a good amount of floor space. It's directly across the street from a gas station and there is plenty of food options within walking distance. The staff were all very friendly. While not the greatest hotel, it's a convenient spot to drop your bags and take a shower at the end of a long day in the park. Unfortunately, there were some downsides. The refrigerator was unplugged upon arrival. The microwave was plugged in but didn't work. The alarm clock was broken. Using the tv required some very specific instruction as to how to turn it on. There was an $8 charge each day for the WiFi. There was a small new congregation of deceased insects in the sink each day. Again, not a place I'd want to spend a whole day in, but a fine place to sleep before heading out.
clean rooms, comfortable bed, parking close to rooms the lot is well lite at night.hotel is next to the 140 hwy that leeds into yosemiite park.the hotel is half the price as the hotels in the park, its well worth the extra beautiful drive. the continetial breakfast, not alot to choose from but it was the middle of the week with few rooms occupid then.
