Pros: This place is ideal for exploring Yosemite. Pamela gives great tips on places to visit. She keep an immaculate home, everything top spec. She is the perfect host.
Pros: Comfortable, close to park entrance, helpful owner
Pros: Fantastic stay in a spotlessly clean room, 5 mins from south entrance to the park. Fresh, home cooked breakfast. The best thing was the advice from Pamela, who knows the park so well. She gave us great information to see Yosemite at its best in the short time we had. Would recommend.
Pros: This was like a little slice of heaven. Pamela was amazing and helped us plan our tour! You don’t need a guide with Pamela’s help so spend it on this comfortable lodge. The bed we stayed in was the most comfortable bed of our trip! Totally recommend
Pros: Excellent room, fantastic location to accesse Yosemite, Bed and Breakfast in pristine conditions with attention to every little details. Best Inn’s owner!
Pros: Pamela was an oustanding host. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was wonderful. She also provided helpful advice and suggestions for activities and resources in and near Yosemite. Much appreciated!
Pros: I loved that it was nice and clean, and ver close to the park. The area surrounding was so beautiful as well.
Pros: Location to the entrance of Yosemite Park was incredible. I quick 5 min drive up the road. We had the 1 x king size room, which was amazing. Very clean, private and well appointed. Private balcony and views over the deck, Fish Creek and surrounding land. Breakfast each morning was a feast. Freshly made with something different each day. Pamela certainly looks after her guests.
Cons: Nothing to dislike.
Pros: After a busy stay in SF, Big Creek Inn is an oasis of calm in Fish Camp. Our room was beautifully appointed with a luxurious bathroom and an L shaped balcony to relax on in the evening. Our host Pamela, has in-depth knowledge of Yosemite park and can guide you to access the most appropriate walks and areas of the park for you. For us, this enables us to maximise our time in Yosemite. Breakfast was substantial and freshly prepared by our host. Fish Camp is 2 miles from the entrance to Yosemite but be aware that to get to the Yosemite village it’s around an hours drive. We knew this so not a problem at all. After our late afternoon arrival, Pamela suggested we visit the Mariposa Grove to see the giant Sequoia trees which is located at the Yosemite Entrance which was perfect way to use our time that day.
Pros: Lovely big room. Loved the guests area with microwave fridge and snacks
Pros: homemade breakfast was awesome. better than 3 star hotel breakfast. i believe i had made a great decision to stay this place cus I couldnt see any better place while I was driving the area. The Inn was located very close to the south entrance means you dont need to drive extra 25 to 30 miles. The room was very clean and quiet. I hope other people also enjoy their stay at this place. It is my first writing review after the trip.
With a stay at Tin Lizzie Inn in Fish Camp, you'll be steps from Sierra National Forest and a 5-minute drive from Yosemite South Entrance. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Everything. We were given a warm welcome by Ramona and Gary, caretakers of this beautiful home away from home. Their attention to detail was excellent. The large master and en-suite were fantastic, as was the breakfast and atmosphere. The ride in the model A ford was fun.
Pros: Spacious, beautiful, great location away from Ocean Avenue but close enough to get there in 10 minutes.
Cons: The only negative was the noise from US 1 on the balcony. We needed to use noise canceling headphones when out there. Otherwise Tickle Pink was perfect.
Pros: Wonderful House close to the Yosemite Nationalpark. The Housekeeper are two wonderful Persons. Our Son 1,5 Year find his Grandmother for 2 Days
Pros: Absolutely amazing breakfast by Ramona!
Pros: Small Inn that took great care of us!
Pros: Friendly welcome and excellent hosts throughout. Quiet and comfortable room. Excellent home cooked breakfast Bonus drive in vintage car
Pros: Lovely place and made to feel very special. Superb furnishings
Cons: Nothing all excellent
Pros: We reserved the suite. We didn’t want to leave! It was so comfortable..the beds, the bath, sitting area. All beautifully furnished! Loved the bathtub and separate shower. Gary and Ramona were SO hospitable, helpful and, just such nice people! Breakfast was delicious...the kids couldn’t wait for it! Gorgeous house and a lovely, relaxed retreat after a strenuous, tiring but incredible day in the park.
Pros: Most enjoyable breakfast ever. The Model A joy-ride is absolutely a happy ending of our stay.Friendly host gave us very useful suggestions to plan our trip to Yosemite park.Wish you all the best and we expect to meet you soon!
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly. The location is ideal to staying close to the South entrance of Yosemeti National Park.
Cons: The "cottage" I stayed in was on two levels. Bed and bathroom were upstairs Small couch and small table was downstairs. The staircase was beautiful wood and could' be slippery. I was very careful going up and down the stairs.
Facilities and services include 24 hour reception, restaurant, bar, swimming pool, business center, room service (extra charge) and parking. Rooms feature wireless Internet access, T.V, telephone, fridge, hairdryer and bathroom.
Pros: This hotel is beautiful, with stunning surroundings our accommodations were excellent, as well as the facilities.
Cons: The food and beverage department does a disservice to this property. The food is of poor quality and the restaurant staff is not well trained and unprepared to provide satisfactory service.
The hotel is the closest property to Yosemite Falls. It is located in Yosemite Valley, a convenient location for visitors interested in hiking Half Dome, Glacier Point or one of the many trails originating near the lodge. The hotel was built in 1915 and modernised in 1956 and then again in 1998. The year-round complex places an emphasis on glass, wood and landscaping of indigenous trees, shrubs and wildflowers that harmoniously blend with the natural beauty of the Yosemite Valley. The location of the hotel is the reason it is one of the most sought-after places to find reservations in and around Yosemite National Park. Guests may sip their favourite drink at the bar. The hotel rooms do not offer amenities such as televisions or air conditioning. Nearly every seat in the Mountain Room Restaurant has an outstanding view of the 740-metre-high Yosemite Falls.
Pros: Incredible location so close to Yosemite Falls and we could see half dome from our back deck! The room was rustic, which was perfect for the location, and very clean.
Cons: A little pricey, but so worth the location!
Cons: It's not very sound-proof. Every sound from the rooms around me (top and sides) was heard, making it hard to sleep or relax while in the room. Every morning I was woken up by screaming children at 6am or kept awake by loud, booming voices at night.
Pros: Amazing location, really nice facilities, very cute and quaint
Cons: Nothing, was perfect.
With a stay at Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite in Fish Camp, you'll be in the mountains, just steps from Sierra National Forest and a 4-minute drive from Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad. Featured amenities include a business center, express check-out, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. Planning an event in Fish Camp? This resort has facilities measuring 15000 square feet (1394 square meters), including conference space. Free valet parking is available onsite.
Pros: This place was amazing
Cons: The directions to the lifts and rooms were hard to follow
Pros: Superb location just outside Yosemite Park gates. Lots of activities available for the children...the pools were great. The children enjoyed a session on the climbing wall with a very nice instructor. Food was good but expensive.
Cons: The major hassle we had was managing our booking. We had one night booked via our travel agent, and another booked by us through booking.com. It took multiple emails to combine the two so that we could remain in the same room for 2 nights and even after all that when we arrived we had to book in twice as the Registration staff had no knowledge of our two bookings. The Aircon in the room was very noisy.
Pros: The room was excellent
Cons: The rooms layout made us totally dependent on using the car for everything. Dinner was with a selection which was not for us to much fat topping on everything
Pros: Location is spectacular, the flashlight walk with Robbie was a highlight. The kids loved the s'mores pit and the games room also.
Cons: Rooms a little dark. Sliding bathroom door not ideal.
Pros: Great setting, nice decoration and large room
Cons: Food is average and very expensive Staff is fast and efficient but not very pleasant nor smiling for a location and of this level
Pros: Beautiful location, great rooms and staff always happy to help. Concierge desk amazing in assisting hikes. Highly recommend staying here. Easy drive into the valley if you leave early.
Pros: the property itself is nice and clean. location is pretty good, it's about 5-10 minutes from Yosemite's southern entrance. The property has plenty of amenities and offer other activities on site.
Cons: room rates are much higher than other comparable hotels or lodges. I don't feel you get the much bang for your buck at this lodge. I stay at other hotel/lodges that were just as good or better for much cheaper. I guess the the price you have to pay for visiting Yosemite.
Pros: we tried to check in at 4 and there was a large number of people waiting, They it would be about an and we came back and everyone was gone we asked about our room and the girl asked if we had even checked in and could not even find our paperwork, she finally found it but we still had to wait another 30 minutes
Pros: Amenities and location
Cons: When I needed anything from front desk or house keeping then took forever or forgot to deliver it. Rooms muggy
Pros: Nice amenities (particularly fire pits at night, nice lobby area, store, restaurants etc - not much else around there!) Staff generally good - esp concierge staff and Rhonda the bartender Lovely grounds, quiet, nice place to come back to after a day in the part
Cons: Had sense the management was really tough on the staff -- they seemed almost scared of them! When we had a couple of glitches the did make it right but there was just a vibe that the management might be less than supportive of staff. Be aware that it takes over an hour (even without much traffic) to get to Yosemite Valley from hotel, and it is not a great road at night (sheer cliff off one side of a windy road!). Only closer option is to stay in the park and hotels there are no where near as nice, so it is just a trade off
Pros: Everything good
Pros: The entire staff was very pleasant and helpful. I had casually mentioned to the girl at the front desk that we were staying for our anniversary, and we returned from dinner, there was champagne, strawberries, and a very nice card! Great service!
Big Tree Lodgeandnbsp;a National Historic Landmark rests upon verdant meadows and beside rushing streams. The tranquility of this Victorian-style lodge in Yosemite makes it a favorite of those who prefer a relaxed environment and the gracious charm of a bygone era.
Pros: We always enjoy staying at the Wawona Hotel. It takes you back to a time when life was a little simpler. The hotel was built in 1876 and has a rustic charm to it. . It is a nice place to stay while exploring the rest of Yosemite Park. In the evening you can sit in the parlor and listen to Tom Bopp play the piano and tell stories while enjoying a drink or dessert.
Cons: Restaurant: not a good value for money. Food is okay but a bit too expensive for what it is (but for Yosemite I believe it's one of the best options)
When you stay at Yosemite View Lodge in El Portal, you'll be on a river and within a 5-minute drive of Yosemite Arch Rock Gate Entrance. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Everything was great except the ice machine in our unit was bro kn en and never fixed over 3 days. Also of the 5 washing machines available, only 1 was working.
Cons: Laundry and ice machine being fixed
Pros: Nearby the national park
Pros: Good location
Cons: WIFI at 10$ for only 2 devices... in a place where there is no cellular network...
Cons: In.2019 i expect wifi included in the room rate even on the moon
Pros: The beds were comfortable, and it was well located for Yosemite village. There was 1 receptionist who was helpful in allowing us to move rooms too.
Cons: It was very overpriced for the facilities available and service received.
Pros: Could update the decor a bit.
Pros: The location
Cons: Wifi was sooooo expensive
Pros: The location was brilliant - right by the entrance to the National Park. The store in the hotel was very well stocked.
Cons: The food at the restaurants was pretty basic and yet still pretty expensive. The nearest other place to buy food was a neighbouring hotel a few miles down the road, but this was owned by the same company! Having to pay for wifi in the 21st century feels deeply unfair, like having to pay for water coming out of your bathroom taps. So that was annoying to say the least. The decor and furnishings felt pretty dated, but were at least clean.
Cons: Older facility that has been kept clean and the staff is very nice. Decent grocery store and gift shop. There is no cell service there and they charge for Wi-Fi.
Pros: Great view from the room.
Cons: There is no signal (which is ok), but you need to pay extra for the use of WiFi. Taking into account the price of the room, the WiFi should be complementary.
Pros: Great location outside of the park, had great room with perfect view of the river. Store in the check in area was well stocked with variety of items. Didn't eat at restaurant.
Cons: Room was very warm upon arrival, had to ask for assistance to get A/c functioning. Amazing dual head shower, but electronic controls on the Waterfall Shower Unit did not work. Some slight maintenance needs to be performed (water damage in bathroom, drywall rot, only 2 towels in room, only 1 fork in kitchen, ice machine did not work)
When you stay at Narrow Gauge Inn in Fish Camp, you'll be in the mountains, a 1-minute drive from Sierra National Forest and 6 minutes from Yosemite South Entrance. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Nothing specific. It is an ordinary budget motel. It was clean though. The staff was quite friendly. Thy guy in the restaurant (Bill) was excellent.
Cons: First of all, I would consider it as a budget motel not a hotel at all. It has only front window and the glass entrance door next to each other. Both of them had cloth draperies (like a window treatment) that offer very little privacy. You could actually see into the room through the open spots that cannot be closed/covered by these curtains. The sound proof between rooms was terrible. We could hear how the people in the adjacent room were snoring and walking. The day we arrived the restaurant was closed for dinner. So, we had to go to another hotel/resort which was about 1.5 – 2 miles away. The breakfast was good and exactly what we expected. But, it was not included and we had to pay for it extra.
Pros: Location is nice, its a quite property.
Cons: It might need some updates in the restaurant and breakfast wasn't unto standard
Pros: The place located into a nice wood and have wonderful view for nature
Cons: The property is 20 min away by driving from the center, they request 10$ for breakfast that in other places around the area, the same buffet that they offer is given as a complimentary, facilities in the room are quiet old, it seems that the prices for rooms are very expensive and not such a great value for the money.
Pros: The views, private entrance, parking close to room and balcony.
Cons: The walls were a bit thin, we heard our neighbors talking very loudly for an hour on a Saturday night and could not sleep. Also wish there was a WiFi extender so WiFi could be used in rooms since there was no cell service. Not a big deal but would like.
Pros: Location; bed comfort; value price.
Cons: Poor WiFi, only marginally better in the lobby; hot breakfast cost extra and ran out of key offerings only midway through the morning. This is a 2.5 star hotel, not 3.
Pros: Great. Server was very friendly and happy that he opens before 7:00 so we could get an early start.
Cons: Could have been a comfortable chair in our room.
Cons: The property internet did not reach our room. We were left two bath towels and no hand towels or wash cloths. They had a coffee make in the room but no coffee for it. Over all the place is screaming for an update.
Pros: Location, really close to Yosemite entrance.
Cons: Bar and restaurant are only open at weekends out with Summer Season. Had to go 13 miles away to Oakhurst for dinner.
Pros: location to Yosemite . It was quaint and old fashion. loved the chairs outside each room.
Pros: The location was approx. 15 minutes from the entrance of the Yosemite reserve so it was very close! The beds were comfortable and the room had all you needed in terms of clean towels, coffee etc. The views are stunning of the reserve and it is lovely to sit outside and take it all in! There is plenty of parking and all the staff are so lovely! There is a small corner shop about 5 minutes down the road which sells the worlds best sandwiches so you must visit there on your way to the reserve.
Cons: The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything above you and to the sides. If possible, I would request a room on the top floor at the end of the corridor so you limit the noise. Also, the shower was not great for tall people so we had to kneel slightly for the shower head to hit our heads! The breakfast was continental and I think the price is slightly expensive for what you get but it was all we needed and saved a trip to the shops.
Pros: The rustic decor paired with modern conveniences made this a very pleasant place to relax. The balcony with the comfortable rockers was perfect way to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Pros: The location was great!
Cons: The room was not clean, was also very dusty and when we asked for the housekeeping to service the room, they didn't clean anything and didn't change the sheets. All they did was replace the towels, although they didn't even replace all the towels and we had to ask for towels and for coffee because they didn't replace that either. We did a lot of hiking and unfortunately dragged in a bit of dirt and they didn't sweep or anything. We didn't have a broom or we would have done our own sweeping...it was incredibly lame non-service.
With a stay at White Chief Mountain Lodge in Fish Camp, you'll be in a national park, steps from Sierra National Forest and a 4-minute drive from Yosemite South Entrance. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Staff were all pleasant. Breakfast was nice. Hotel was old and in poor shape. The location and proximity to Yosemite is what makes people stay. If this was anywhere else it would be $30 not $230. Rooms were old and this place could be great. But it needed to be repaired. It was definitely not rustic charm, just outdated dark and In poor shape.
Cons: Views great property in nice location. Broken down things dumped. Trash cans in front of views, that could have been hidden. Buildings looked like quick make do repairs.
Pros: 10 mins from the big tree. Reasonable price. 1 hour from the valley. Good WiFi. Good staff!!! Good breakfast!!!!
Pros: Very close to the park entrance Nice cabin Reasonable breakfast
Cons: Not many restaurants in the area Nearest place is Oakhurst So either you drive there to eat or buy in advance enough groceries
Pros: It is lo located close to the national park. Rooms are fairly spacious with a fairly new shower room. Breakfast buffet, although limited choice was adequate. Price was reasonable considering the fact it was only a few miles from the Yosemite south gate
Cons: They had a glitch with the heating system while we were there, which meant the heating seemed to have a mind of its own, but there was a notice in the room to alert us to the problem
Pros: Reception very helpful. Location to Marino’s a grove and glacier point good.
Cons: Rooms had paper thin walls and cobwebs around the ceiling.
Pros: Mindy was very energetic & is a hard worker. Mindful of keeping the breakfast items replenished.
Cons: Rooms are very dated & old, had to travel about 15 miles back to Oakhurst for supper as they only serve breakfast here.
Pros: It was close to the South Gate of Yosemite. The bed was comfortable, the room clean and the bathroom was neat. There was parking close to our room.
Cons: The amenities are bare bones, the breakfast is VERY basic and low quality and there was never anyone in the office during our four day stay to answer questions.
Pros: The location is right outside of Yoesemite Nat Park - cheap rates. There are not many options for this area, and most require 3 night min or very expensive. This place was resaonable.
Cons: All you could smell in the room was bleach, we had to spray, leave fan and window open and leave for awhile so we would be able to breath in there. Toilet didn't work right - did not seem like the plumbing and electric were up to code. THEN when you check in they make photocopies of your personal information - in case you dispute the charge on your credit card. I have never heard of such a thing. I would have not stayed that night but they already charged my card 1.5 months earlier when I made the reservation.
Pros: Stuff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is good.
Cons: No 24 hours stuff available
Pros: Friendly staff, very clean, and really close to Yosemite, which is why we chose it.
Cons: Very thin walls, you could hear everything from the next room. Even though I always appreciate complimentary breakfast, this was mediocre. The coffee was awful. Facility is very rustic...which is ok as the location was so great. I probably wouldn’t stay there again.
Pros: It was clean
Cons: Depressing place
Pros: The property is conviniently located just a few miles away from the Yosemite National Park's entrance. The speed of Wi-Fi was better than what we'd have expected in the middle of a forest.
Cons: The room looks very outdated (just as like in the photos). Also, the breakfast was very basic.. I don't find this accommodation a good value for money we paid.
When you stay at Red Bud Lodge in El Portal, you'll be 15 minutes by car from Yosemite Arch Rock Gate Entrance. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: good, quiet, clean kitchenette room. no onsite office but office, restaurant, pool available at cedar lodge,, 2 miles away.
With a stay at Cedar Lodge in El Portal, you'll be 8.3 mi (13.3 km) from Yosemite Arch Rock Gate Entrance and 15.9 mi (25.6 km) from Yosemite Valley. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and a safe deposit box at the front desk. Planning an event in El Portal? This hotel has facilities measuring 900 square feet (84 square meters), including conference space. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Good, clean, safe place to stay while visiting Yosemite.
Pros: Location was perfect - scenic and close to the park.
Cons: Prices in the gift store/market were very high.
Pros: Very quiet, nice place for rest.
Cons: It’s located at the bottom of valley, can not receive any cellular signal, the WiFi is a little bit expensive due to satellite connected internet, I did not try it.
Pros: It was near Yosemite
Pros: It was a good rate and location for a two star hotel. Would stay there again for my next visit.
Cons: The fridge temperature is not cold. There were no milk to accompanied with coffee and tea; and there was no bathmat in the bathroom. Prefer to have paper-cups than polystyrene cups for the hot drinks which did melted through my coffee cup.
Pros: It was close to the park
Cons: The restaurants
Pros: Convenience for National park. Restaurant bar on site.
Cons: Room was a little tired. No extractor fan in bathroom. Loud vibration noise from room upstairs called reception. Initially they had no idea what it was. Then later thought it a spa bath. Luckily it only happened the once and we had a reduction on the cost of room for that night. Thank you.
Pros: Room was ok. Choice of restaurants and pool.
Cons: Fast food restaurant limited choice and not that great and overall it had a holiday camp feel which doesn’t really suit us.
Cons: The price of wifi at this location is about 9 dollars per one device for 12 hours - this is unreasonable to take this sum for internet access. I felt that the hotel is taking advantage of its location to collect more money.
Pros: Nice and comfort place
Cons: Very expensive for this type of hotel.
When you stay at Yosemite Scenic Wonders - Wawona Area in Yosemite National Park, you'll be in a national park, within a 15-minute drive of Sierra National Forest and Yosemite South Entrance. Free self parking is available onsite.
