Pros: For us the location is perfect as it is only blocks away from our son's home. The breakfast was great! had everything we like.
Cons: We were lucky to get the last room(due to the big wedding there). But a queen bed was small for us.a king is the better size. But I did need the handicap bathroom-so that made up for the bed.
Pros: The room was very comfortable and “fresh smelling.” The staff member that helped me was delightful! I will definitely return and will recommend it to anyone who may be traveling to Orofino!
Pros: Beautiful location, balcony on river side room, great free breakfast.
Pros: Location, staff and amenities were great.
Pros: The hotel is located right on the river and we had a river facing room which was beautiful. We showed up late but the staff was nice and kept the happy hour going for another 15 min so we could participate. They were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and very clean. Very modern and updated. The bathroom setup was nice and worked well. Our room had a balcony where you could sit and watch the mountains and the river. We stayed on the 4th of July and they turned off the lights to the patio so we could see better. That was an amazing experience. I have never felt so close to fireworks before. I highly recommend staying during that time of year. Breakfast was a standard hotel breakfast. Eggs, sausage, bagel, waffle, etc. It was good though and filling.
Pros: breakfast, internet, multiple smiles all included
Pros: Always have loved this hotel, get a river view room, they have great views. Breakfast was good and they are motorcycle friendly, let us park under the awning and there were two bottles of water waiting by the motorcycle before we left.
Pros: Quiet destressing property.
Cons: Above criticism!
Pros: The staff were amazing!!
Pros: Excellent location. Great support wash area etc for motorcycle travellers. Staff is always first rate.
Pros: The location. Also the staff was very friendly and efficient. Enjoyed the complimentary beer and wine too.
Cons: Loved it!
Pros: The location, friendliness of all staff,(Vanessa was so very friendly and helpful) cleanliness, attention to detail etc etc . Have stayed here over the years and it never disappoints!!
Cons: Absolutely nothing we didn't like!
Located in Orofino, Helgeson Place Hotel & Suites is within a 15-minute drive of Clearwater Historical Museum and Dworshak Dam. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The beds were decent, and the free breakfast was edible. This could be a really nice hotel, if the town itself could kick its nicotine addiction and invest it’s money in its local economy and community, (and this hotel,) instead of puffing it all away.
Cons: Nearly every person we encountered was smoking: staff, guests, and townsfolk. Had to brush away cigarette ash from the outdoor breakfast tables before sitting down to eat, and we’re greeted by the front desk agent standing by the entrance smoking a cigarette as we returned after breakfast. Apparently Idaho bars haven’t gotten the memo yet that non-smokers like to have a couple beers now and then, too. Stopped in at ‘The Shot Glass’ for a couple of microbrews in the evening. We sat outdoors and still left stinking like everyone else’s ashtray, and woke up the next morning feeling lousy from the smoke. Finally, as we were leaving town, pulled into the local gas station and saw the attendant smoking a cigarette as she picked up litter next to the pumps. This place is way behind the times, and not in a charming ‘old timey’ way.
Pros: Loved this hotel - built in the 20's with a working antique elevator. Rooms were immaculate and very large. Ours had two bedrooms (which we didn't need) and a kitchenette. Also a recliner, couch, and large TV. It overlooked Main Street in this quite town. Breakfast was very good with scrambled eggs & sausage. Reasonable price. Would definitely recommend this quaint but modern hotel.
Cons: The only improvement would be the mattress. Ours sagged in the middle & was not the most comfortable, but we still slept well.
