Pros: The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good
Cons: It was perfect for our needs

Pros: Staff was excellent !!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room. Walking distance to ca couple of restaurants and bars. Quick drive to downtown. Very friendly, helpful staff.
7.4 Good
Pros: Convent location, near interstate and also an easy drive to downtown Coeur d'Alene.
Cons: While the bed was comfortable the pillows were way to soft. Need to include ones that are firmer. Breakfast items were just OK.
7.4 Good
Pros: The location, the quietness which was very nice, and the free wi-fi.
Cons: The pool was cold. For the amount of money we (and all others ) paid, the pool should be heated to a higher temperature! We tried to stay in it and get acclimated, but alas, just too cold. Also, for the breakfast room to only have ONE waffle maker for all the guests to use in the morning is ridiculous. The line was 8 people long...ugh. This size of hotel should have at least two waffle makers and a larger syrup container.

Pros: Loved the entire decor and feel of the hotel…view wasn't all that great for the price and the rooms were quite small. Cons: Small rooms

7.7 Good
Cons: Breakfast not the best
5.4 Okay
Pros: Convenient location for our needs and stay.
Cons: The nonstop noise from the room above us until 130am then starting again at 515am. Then after talking to the front desk and having to relocate to a room in the top floor to avoid dealing with the same issue we were given a 10 dollar Starbucks card, whoopee, big deal, can't stand coffee & if I did I'd never goto Starbucks. Not worth the hassle. We could have gotten the same or better for $160 down the street instead of the almost $450 that we spent. Never again
8.5 Excellent
Pros: I like how close this hotel is to the freeway, downtown and to Spokane area. We stay here when we are visiting the area and are considering moving here for the college in town. We are from Seattle area and ready for a more laid back environment. Cost of this hotel is about average and the location makes it worth coming back to
Cons: I don't care for their coffee. We head down the street to Dutch Bros for our coffee

Pros: Room was clean but the beds are hard as a rock. Breakfast was nice. Overall ambiance of the hotel was very nice.

Pros: The breakfast was great, plenty of choices and was able to fuel up my family without paying an extra bill at a restaurant. Much more than just the average muffins and coffee!

Japan House Suites - Coeur d'Alene - Building
8.7 Excellent (215 reviews)
9.1 Excellent
Pros: I was aprehensive at first, took a chance on a non chain hotel and I'm not disapointed. Trust the reviews, they are pretty accurate. We found the room very clean, roomy and fairly modern. Don't let the photos of the exterior fool you. I've paid a lot more for a room and had a lot less. Plenty of hot water and pressure in shower. Bed linen very nice, loved the pillows. Staff certainly went the extra mile. Lots of little extra touches in the room. No noise from neighbors or street. Good value for the area. Lobby area and designated area clean and nicely decorated. We'd stay again.
Cons: Free breakfast was just okay. Maybe the two egg breakfast with sausage is not the best choice. Service and presentation was nice. Bed was a little firm for my liking, however my husband loved it. There was a slight odor to the room when we first entered which we quickly got used to. TV screen is curved, but certainly watchable with plenty of channels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean room with comfortable clean beds. I always lift up the sheets and look at the mattress. I’m terrified of seeing something gross. Our mattresses were as clean as anyone Would expect. In the Asian lady which I think I own’s makes you breakfast in the morning. Pretty cool place I would definitely go back
Cons: I really can’t think of anything. It was better than most places you’d pay at least 60% more for
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was easy to find and in a quiet neighborhood. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, simply furnished, comfortable, and had everything we expect from a nice hotel. Breakfast is made to order fresh (appropriate portion sizes, not over-sized). We will stay again.

4.0 Okay
Cons: I didn’t know that our bathroom would be across the hall. We ran out of toilet paper and there wasn’t an extra one in the bathroom or the hall closet. The room inclusded a full breakfast but you didn’t have a choice of what to eat.

Pros: Location, great restaurant, helpful and friendly bar/restaurant staff, character building, nice atmosphere.Quiet. Safe on-street parking.
Cons: Breakfast! Selection was good but quality was poor. Pastries were stale and, if not eaten, were provided for the next day. Muesli was not always replenished and we had to ask for milk every day.Caliber of the breakfast was not consistent with the price
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, breakfast, and internet were all pretty good.
Cons: The B&B atmosphere is certainly different from generic hotels. The feel is a little ackward for someone not used to the smaller personal atmosphere.

8.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was helpful, room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was decent. Overall an enjoyable experience. Would book again.
6.5 Good
Pros: The location was good. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was adequate.
Cons: The fridge hadn't been checked since the previous guest and someone else's salad was still in there. The hot tub was absolutely filthy. There were so many chemicals in it that it made us cough just to be in the room and a window had to be left open because of the fumes. When we turned the Jets on, it foamed like a bubble bath. Gross!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The king room was very comfortable and quiet with room to move around freely. I'd requested extra towels and there were plenty. Breakfast was adequate, even though there was a swim team staying there at the same time.
Cons: Just being changed over, so no proper signage--could see the old name and not the much smaller banner signage that did not cover the old name. Also was hard to find the way INN, since it was simply a drive way or alley past the IHOP in front. Could not access wifi even with the manager giving us a verbal run through.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: I was extremely pleased with my stay at the Day's Inn.The rooms were clean - the carpet was vacuumed and without stains. The bathroom was very clean. The walls were a clean white and there was no mold found. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding was clean without stains. The lighting was more than adequate and their is plenty of storage space. The refrigerator actually kept my items frozen. The front desk staff were extremely courteous as well as helpful when I needed it. THIS MOTEL IS AN EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE AND IS LIKELY A WELL KEPT SECRET. I stay at Wyndham hotels because they are a pleasant experience. However, the RAMADA INN,another Wyndham hotel, should be avoided at all costs. The management hires felons and women claiming sobriety. I would never leave anything of value or importance in my room. The RAMADA Inn is far from clean and the toilet had fecal stains. The swimming pool was dirty and there is scum in the hot tub. The front desk agents are not friendly or helpful. Unfortunately one of the first employee you will see is a toothless woman and that should be a warning. GO TO THE DAYS INN. A GREAT EXPERIENCE. AVOID THE RAMADA AT ALL COSTS. IT WILL NOT BE A GOOD EXPERIENCE AND THERE IS THE CHANCE YOU WILL LEAVE THERE FEELING DIRTY AND SICK
7.4 Good
Pros: The people were friendly and inviting and joked around while getting us checked in and out. Complimentary breakfast and extra toiletries were nice as well.
Cons: The bed was not cleaned from the last person staying. There was food in the blanket still. The bathroom seemed dirty still like washed with water and nothing more. But the bath tub was gross. Whoever cleaned turned the water on sprayed it and then called it good. The couch as well in the room had some kind of hair that was never cleaned all over it.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly!
Cons: The enamel on the tub in our room was coming off.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location.
Cons: No micro range in room. Breakfast marginal.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, clean, comfortable, we have 2 dogs and we were made to feel very welcome.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: All staff were helpful and accommodating. No extra fees for this & that.
Cons: Soundproofing between rooms was a little weak. No donuts or pastries at breakfast, but lots of other choices.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Location cleanliness
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed a wonderful overnight lodging at Days Inn!

7.7 Good
Pros: Hotel was inexpensive and clean overall. The location was good, close to downtown. Very pet friendly. The staff was very nice.
Cons: The beds could be updated but were still good for a decent nights sleep. LOTS of smokers outside the rooms, but the room itself was clean and smoke free. Luckily we did not have neighbors who smoked, that may have changed this review.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Well, to be perfectly honest, the reviews I read after I made the reservation and before I arrived were scary. I really didn't know what to expect, but went anyway. What I found surprised me. Understand, it IS a budget motel, so you see the plumbing under the sinks and there are no phones in the rooms, but who doesn't have a cell phone anymore. The staff, Megan was wonderful, the room had a microwave, coffee maker and fridge. The bathroom area had a hairdryer and the room was cleaned and made up everyday. The experience I had was nothing like the other reviewers. I'll stay there again.
Cons: There was no pool so it wouldn't be good for families that are intending to stay put on the property. However, that having been said, it's Coeur D'Alene, why would you stay on the property. There was a slight problem with parking but nothing that wasn't manageable. All in All, I'll stay there agin.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: It was clean, was not dumpy, the staff was friendly, and single night visitors got breakfast
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Nice facility with friendly staff and breakfast. Pleasant 20 minute walk to the lake. We would definitely come back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very Clean. We were there to explore, we weren't there for a fancy hotel. This did it! It was VERY clean. People were friendly, lots of space. Again Clean, for allowing pets I was shocked. Bed was comfy, pillows were soft. Nice appearence inside and out, close to everything. I would HIGHLY suggest staying it, especially at this price. Honestly I didn't smell smoke and they wouldn't allow it. My fiance and I came, but will return with your kids. :)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a great value hotel! It is for the most part simple, but our room was comfortable and clean. The TV was really nice. Nothing fancy but a great value for what you pay when you are looking for a place to get a good night's sleep.
Cons: The heating/cooling system worked fine, but it did have a bit of a smell when we turned it on.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome budget friendly place to crash. Super friendly staff. Clean and comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The price, cleanliness, personal, friendly.

5.1 Okay
Pros: nice staff, thick towels and clean rooms.
Cons: Doors didn't fit snug in frame, floor above squeaked every time children above ran, jumped or walked, Could easily hear others in hall, Shower made terrible noise when turned on. Ice machine on second not working . We won't stay there again. Could see light and that TV was on in a room we passed to get to our room, at least 1/2 inch of space around door on 3 sides. Really makes one feel secure in locked room!
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: The location is good.
Cons: The hotel is dated and dirty.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly front desk staff, large rooms, great price for Cd'A in mid-summer.
Cons: Pool didn't look clean.
7.7 Good
Pros: Clean, friendly front desk staff, good price for comparable hotels in the area.
Cons: Breakfast could have been better. Although I didn't really need housekeeping, I didn't appreciate the note that stated that my "do not disturb" sign was "still" on at ___ o'clock (not filled in). It was on the door for only an hour the whole morning, while I took a shower and got ready after a run.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and comfortable. I will definitely stay here again
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Price was good. I actually like how the breakfast wasn't all fancy- it was good and comprehensive, though, it didn't have a bunch of fancy tables and stuff.

Cons: someone at some time kicked in the door so it didn't close snug which was not comforting. shower was loud, low water pressure and very slow drain. the outside door was unlocked during the day and into evening so anyone can walk in. hallways and elevator not kept clean.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location. Room was quiet. Pool seemed nice-didn't get to use it.
Cons: Took 5-8 times for key to work in any door. TV was old and not compatible with current technology. Only about 12 channels and most were news or sports. Shower didn't work. Still not sure how I was charged since booked on line and only stayed one of two nights due. Was looking to relax and catch up on some TV and movies-mission was NOT accomplished!
5.7 Okay
Pros: Bed was comfy and I liked the coffee maker
Cons: There was no top lock so once my toddler found out she could open the door it was over. We spent the rest off the two days chasing her down
4.8 Okay
Pros: The the bed was comfy.
Cons: The air conditioner was loud and making a lot weird noises. I've stayed in two Shilo inns this year and they both were in need of a face lift. We walked by the pool and it looked a bit murky.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved being able to get up in the morning and working out in the rec room. Then we went for a swim. Very nice! Personnel were helpful and nice.
Cons: We had problems getting the door key to work.
4.2 Okay
Cons: Bed was way to soft and No elevator

7.1 Good
Pros: Proximity to the lake
Cons: Beds seem older and not the most comfortable. But not terrible.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Located in the heart of downtown this hotel is within walking distance of entertainment, shopping, and the beautiful lake. Our minor housekeeping issues were resolved quickly and efficiently by wonderfully friendly staff. The hotel was quiet at night which allowed us to get a great night's sleep in our clean, comfortable beds.
Cons: Onsite parking was limited, we got a space because checked in early in the day but late check-ins might be relegated to street parking.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and so close to many things. Walk to the lake and shopping. Beautiful park one block away. Good nearby restaurants. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.
Cons: We were surprised that the front office closes at 10pm. However, we called and someone came over to check us in. The amenities were minimally adequate, so make sure to bring your own.
