Food was good. Staff were nice.
Room was dirty. Asked for 2 queen beds. Got 2 twins pushed together. Kids were falling in the crack between beds
Food was very good and plentiful. We were traveling with a picky eater and had no issues. No reservations required at the theme restaurants. Internet was strong throughout the resort, and you can have 2 devices connected at a time for free. Easy $25 shuttle to Tamarindo or $15 to Playa Coco. Diamante adventure park is right next door.
Bed was harder than expected. Long waits for Italian restaurant every night. Sports bar had no seating anf was just a big open room. No room service options at night. Pool bar closed at 6pm.
We liked Riu, the staff was great and the facilities were good
We were however, disappointed in the quality of the food and the evening shows were second rate
The pool and drinks are good. The beach is nice but not close to as nice as other beaches nearby.
Most of the food is buffet only and extremely greasy. Even the non-buffet food is pre-prepared and not very good. They will not accommodate vegetarians. The beach is extremely rocky. Water activities are outsourced to another company, and doing anything requires reservations in advance and a walk away from the beach. Overall this is not a good value or experience as compared to staying in a non-all-inclusive somewhere else in Costa Rica with a better beach and eating out.
Water sports staff was not very helpful and we missed out on activities due to this.
Breakfast and Lunch buffet offers a great variety and quality is good. A la carte restaurant was nice and service was good. Beautiful and well kept gardens.
You have to book 24 hours in advanced for the special restaurants and for water activities (like using a kayak!) which is closed by 3pm. The pool area is loud and not very clean as MANY people seems to spend the whole time at the pool bar. Shows and night activities are poor.
