Villa Barone Alfieri

No breakfast. Tina was very kind and it was a lovely place and lovely sandy beach for swimming, just 1 mile away.

Being self-catering we knew we had to buy any food or drink ourselves, we had a bottle of drinking water supplied. On our departure she did say that she would like some longer lets through the winter months. On reflection, taking into consideration our age, and the layout of the apartments, i.e. the toilets/bathrooms were all on the ground-floor, and the bedrooms upstairs (metal, iron stairs, which were a bit tricky if you had to negotiate in the night) We decided that we would not take a long winter rental.

The aspect and location of the property was excellent. The buildings are in lovely local stone and carefully renovated the gardens are lovely and tranquil. The owner, Tina and Roberta were very friendly and welcoming

The kitchen needed at minimum a chopping board and some sharp knives. A lot of things were missing (mugs/saucepans etc) and had migrated to other apartments and not been returned. Only one of the air conditioning units was working. We were there a week, so a change of towels would have been helpful. We were not told about the washing machine being available and only found out from other residents when we were leaving. None of this spoiled our stay but a few more touches would have made a big difference.

The villa is beautiful with lovely gardens.

The kitchens need cooking knives, wine glasses, bigger coffee pot and better general kitchen equipment. For the price would expect some coffee, body wash in the bathroom and extra toilet paper. No breakfast or drinks available so need a car .
