This is a historic property dating back to the early 18th century. The rooms are enormous with beautiful antique furniture, balconies, tall ceilings and a stunning inner courtyard where they serve an excellent complimentary breakfast.
Nothing—we loved it!
Great location, walking distance to everything in downtown, very safe. Friendly staff, each room has a different theme, mine was Middle Eastern “Persian” and very cozy. If you love antiques and appreciate old architecture this is a must place to come. Don’t expect room service, elevator and/or AC this types of old homes were not meant to have those amenities. Very lovely atmosphere overall
Loved the location and the classic feel of the hotel. Breakfast was a real breakfast, various options for different types of eggs served in a beautiful courtyard. Bed was very comfortable and location cannot be beat, just a block or two away from the zocalo. Restaurant across the street was really delicious too.
The only thing I would say that this is definitely the hotel for people who like and appreciate older style and classic furnishings. If you prefer modern or traditional hotel then maybe this is not the right place for you. Our floors were beautiful old wood, but very squeaky so we had to tiptoe around to make sure we didn't wake up our 8month old. My parents on the other hand, had a classic tile floor and also loved every detail and couldn't stop talking about how spectacular the hotel was. Also, the walls are pretty thin it seems (so I'm sure everyone heard when my baby was crying one night), and it was a bit stuffy in the rooms so we had to keep the balcony door open each night to get a cross breeze. A fan or a AC would have been good.
Everything especially the architecture and decor of the hotel. Really beautiful
Choice of food at breakfast. No bar, dining room or room service
Location, 24 hrs concierge and historic environment
Could have used a safe
