Hotel was not quite up to 5* Standard.Carpets were worn and wallpaper starting to come off wall
The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The beds and pillows very really soft and comfortable to have a good night's sleep. Nothing, everything was great.
The courtesy/helpfulness of the staff, guided by an excellent general manager.
I would only have one complaint - the person who carries out checks on the spa and pool etc did not wear overshoes. I thought this was unhygenic.....
friendliness of staff The indoor Rickshaw oriental restaurant. Quality of food was good, but it took about 2,5 hours before we received our main course. This also happened to other visitors and some were angry and some even left the place.
Difficult to find the hotel, especially by night
Friendly and helpful staff. Location of hotel - easy access to Valetta by local transport. Hotel surrounded by beautiful gardens and next to the Presidental Palace Gardens (San Anton) which are always open to the public.
friendliness of all staff everything satisfactory
The facilities are very nice especially the sauna and the staff was very nice and helpfull The wireless internet acces is really expensive regarding the facilities of the hotel and malta in general.
First class service. Very accommodating and polite. Wi-Fi was perfect. food was very good, setting was world beating. Major Historic site, felt lucky to stay here. While building is classically old, some of the 1980's or 90's improvements are worn out and need to be renewed. Though a fine hotel, and I will go along with non-working things from the 1600's, the newer stuff needs to work better. No big deal, just a minor quibble.
Location, helpful staff and good restaurant They debited my credit card with one night immediately in spite of the comments on your site that the credit card number was for guarentee only
Room was nice and quite unique. The location was absolutely super - right in the middle of Mdina. For a bit of a splurge this hotel is probably worth it. Perhaps a little bit over priced. It's not really a 5 star hotel maybe more like a 4 star hotel. Still it was very nice and I would go back again
The staff were friendly and attentive, the location was superb.
Beautiful palace in a magnificent location. Beautiful view. Luxury
I could find no fault in the hotel. The breakfast was particularly lovely I have nothing to complain about
jacuzzi, heated indoor pool, delicious breakfast, friendly staff, good location
Location and friendly helpfull staff
clean breakfast buffet, rain water leaking from ceiling in restaurant and corridors, bathroom facilities, gym well equipped but in poor state of maintenance, general state of decoration
Good location and good access to public transport. Friendly personel.
Room and facilities excellent, the staff was very friendly and hepfull, easy reach to bus and promenade.
clean, a bit good looking too, wide spaces and good swimming pool. It's very close to the bus terminal it's a bit far away from the night life
- View to the Mediterranean Sea. - Breakfast. - Proximity to points of interest (if you have a car). - Good room.
location pool area rather simple, run-down
In this hotel one finds relaxing time ,privacy, good service , breakfast very good and the prices in the caffeteria were very good .
Leaving(!) and the spa I was booked to stay for only 4 nights and tried 3 rooms in my time there. The first night they stuck me in the time share apartments .... dirty, smelly, mouldy, other people's laundry blocking the door to (167)my room, I could go on. Next they moved me to a room which wasn't an awful lot better (374). Finally they moved me to a room which was 'ok' (128), but certainly not 4*. Ensure you get a good room!
We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. The whole atmosphere was very relaxing even when the hotel was busy a conference
swimmingpool / beach accomodation old fashion furnuture in hotelroom massive breakfast with hunderd of people running for food with awfull coffee
Was comfortable, nice sea view, good pools, decent food and quiet atmosphere Incompetent staff..we were given the wrong keys at first. When we came all the way down for new keys, were given an average 2-star room. When we complained again, we were given a better room but still slightly inferior to other rooms of the same standard. Not just that our room was located at the far end of the corridor, and quite far from the lifts so was always time consuming going in and out of the hotel.
Great hotel, fantastic position, large & clean rooms, nice staff
Great room. Great view. The beds were uncomfortable. Very hard. Requested queen bed but got twin beds pushed together. Staff seem to be teenagers working during summer holiday and weren't helpful with simple requests like 'where can I get a beach towel?' Although you wouldn't need to ask if the information in the guest directory was correct.
There was no noise in the evenings so no problems getting to sleep. Lovely swimming pools. Very busy dining room, had to wait for a table. Had to change room after one night very small room and no terrace. Next room had no sun on the terrace.
Bathrooms by pool in poor condition
Locations was good. Close to bus station. The breakfast buffet was pretty good. They gave us a horrible room with a useless shower. I complained, then they upgraded us two twin beds. It was like night and day. They never replenished any of the consumables. I would recommend a better hotel. This is more like a three star hotel.
only stayed one night but the staff were very friendly and courteous, place was well maintained
The hotel is in an ideal position to visit Valletta and for seeing Sliema. Our room (612) had an excellent view over the harbour. It was in a quiet area but only a few mins away from the busy nightlife. There is a bus stop almost right outside in either direction from the hotel. We were in the 6th floor extension and the pressure in the shower was not strong enough to rinse soap out of my hair, which is thick. There was a cotton bud under the bed when we arrived and it was still there when we left, there were also hairs in the bath plug. Breakfast was not that interesting but at the price of the room was not expecting much anyway.
Good value, good location, comfortable in room heating didn't work, staff couldn't answer a question about where the nearest gym was, the room was very noisy at night because of a very noisy fan or dryer type device in the next room.
View from 7th floor sea view room, and terrace at breakfast, of harbour and Valletta.
the location is quite centric and the reception staff was very polite and helpful.
Good location. Easy access to all nice breakfast rooftop Extremely noisy. Uncomfortable. Unwelcoming
The room was very big with also the kitchen corner, table, sofa, but furniture is quite modest. The cleanliness in general was fair, towels and sheet seemed not washed carefully. The remote control and the TV commands didn't work.
location, room with the balcony, close to public transport and eateries room below breakfast area very noisy, smell in bathroom,
The location was perfect. Step out the front door and you are on the waterfront, 5 minutes from the ferry, and water excursions.
Convenient location. Friendly staff. Very poor breakfast - very limited range, and same every day. Very noisy fan in bathroom which couldn't be switched off.
The hotel had a good location close to some nice restaurants and shops. It was quite central so easy to get to Valetta and St Julian's. The hotel had a nice position looking over Silema harbour but unfortunately we didn't have a room with a view. Our room had no natural light as the window was small and looked out into the centre of the hotel. There was no balcony which we wouldn't have minded if there had been better facilities at the hotel. The roof terrace on the 8th floor was small although it did have some sun beds. The jacuzzi was tiny and looked dirty so no one used it that we saw of. Our actual room was quite basic. There appeared to be some kind of leak at the end of one of the beds which the hotel staff covered by pulling the bed out further. I also noticed that one of our bed sheets was dirty and had to ask the cleaner to change it.
Very convenient location. Toilet was basic but clean. The rooms are old, and there was no non-smoking rooms (there was a furniture/smoke smell in the room, but still tolerable). TV quality is poor. Have to be very careful with remote control (one wrong button and it's pay-tv).
Good location Noisy sea view room/Poor shower facility/Very poor breakfast selection
why not have coffee and tes facilities in the rooms?
Good staf, good view, good breakfast. The room was a little old and in some spot dirty. (curtains)
friendly and competent personal, services, variety of breakfast and dinner buffet,
the view and the courtesy bus was good service.... expensive bar...sheets only chaned once in 9 days..breakfast buffet was poor and flies on food...poor exchange rate on sterling....no tea and coffee facilities provided unless you pay extra which in a 4 star hotel should be in the room anyway...waited about i hour for iron and board..did not except sterling in bar and had to wait about 20 mins while reception did the tills so they could change.
every thing been six times here everything great nothing
Unfriendly staff, bad cleaning, lack of distinctness about service in the restaurant, old furnitures. For five days nobody start vacuum-cleaner in our room. I'll never propose this hotel. Additional the hotel is far from any cities. If you want to use remote control for TV, then you should pay for remote control.
Good facilities, good breakfast, clean room, courteous staff only a very minor thing but would have been better to have fitted sheets and bigger pillows!
Reception desk operated well. Beds were not comfortable--too old in the room we were in. TV reception poor though weather was bad
the price on sunday I had lunch at the restaurant, it was a buffet, they charged 14,00 euro. Poor choice of food, the meat I couldn`t even eat, it was so hard that i doubt was beef, should be horse meat...the desserts had no taste, I ate pasta with see food sauce, very grease...My advice is do not go to the restaurant buffet.
DUring booking, we requested a room away from lifts, but we were allocated a room rigt next to the lift.
To be honest, I was very disappointed and I didn't really like anything about the hotel, except from the nice swimming pool which was fantastic. I don't understand how this hotel is classified as a 4-star hotel. It was low value for money and the hotel was far away from everything. The comfort was very modest for a 4-star hotel. I regret that I booked this hotel.
Being part of the KEB evangelical church via Pastor Edwin Caruana team I once again enjoyed my stay. I did book an extra night because of the vocanic ash distruptions and a cancelled flight. I did not use the room and was informed by the duty manager that you might refund the cost of the room as I booked paid and then because air malta might have had a flight did not use the room. I await your decision on a refund thank you. I left the receipt with reception who were going to leave a note explaining my situation,. thank you.My UK address is 69/3 bachelor lane horsforth leeds ls185nf UK
i liked my stay because i was left to do my own thing i could come an go when i pleased
pool was nice over pay for a small room.
the price (but only because we pay 50% discount, booking thourgh Booking.com otherwise it is too expensive) Old rooms, not so clean! Breakast never changed in one week! It is 4 stars only in the paper, it is more a 2 stars!
Room was ok shower too cold or too hot, no possible to take a prober shower
Excellent value for money. Staff very helpful.
Great value for money and very friendly staff Queing for a mediocre and somewhat tasteless breakfast. I didn't use them, but the swimming pools (very small outdoor and large bath indoor) must be woefully inadequate during the summer. Not an issue for me, but certainly one for a family.
The friendliness of the hotel staff, they are helpful and very knowledgable about local travel etc. There is a comfortable relaxed atmosphere in the public areas. A bit cut off from the town but this was okay for an off season holiday where it was cool enough to walk to a restaurant or cafe. Too few sun loungers, especially on the roof which got more of the sunshine but again okay off season when we were more interested in touring than sun bathing. Breakfast is poor, didn't mind missing it. Didn't expect to be served instant or vending machine type coffee in a hotel but this is a minor gripe, I like a good cup of coffee, especially in the morning!
The location was a little further than I expected from the centre.
The tranquillity that there is in this hotel is really billiant during the night and the food is good the drinks at the bar are fair price ........the room was clean hotel is clean aswell I would go there again in a short time for sure The only thing that I did not like was that in the restaurant ...... there is a rush to finish your meal cause there is a function afterwords and they start to clear the restaurant at 20.15 when the last serving is at 20.00 and befor everyone is finished they start peprering the food for the other function and what is finished for that time is not replaced I think that it is a pitty cause all is good and fine there
The good weather :-) This hotel is not 4 stars! for me it's a 2 star hotel.
nice relaxing stay roof spa not working
very good value for money hote, food excellent, staff excellent, free shuttle takes you to ther bus terminal where you can acces everywhere with ease and cheaply only thing i'd say is my partner and me developed cough's within a few days of arrival, as did several other guests i noticed, maybe the air con needs checking? my partner;s cough developed into plourisy,
Rooms: we didn't see the sky, we see the wall and stay all day with the lights, room was not so clean. The coffe wasn't good and the breakfast also.
nice and clean hotel to a very good rate.Near bus stop easy to travel were ever you wanna go. bar lounge and reception noisy every evening if you don`t like coverbands and karaoke
r4ooms were of good size beeding towels change daily staff helpful heating in rooms very poor i feel heating should have been at guest discretion as to when and the temputure was to be acessed in rooms and public areas thease were timed and controlled for when guest may be out of hotel very poor
the most thing i liked about the hotel is its location which is close to the cafes and the shoping area the size of the room,it is very small.the AC was not cooling
The staff was really kind none
The location was okay and the view from the rooftop was nice. The hotel is not clean at all and you have to pay for every service, in the offer I booked the wifi was for free but when we arrived there we had to pay for the wifi. Also we ordered a plate and a fork for the room and we had to pay 2 euros for that! It was really not a nice experience at all.
Location is really very good. I don´t know how other people and their experiences, but this is NOT 4star rated hotel...
Nothing about the Hotel. Maybe the location Dirty room. Smell of smoke from cigaretts all the time. Aircon not working. The room looked nothing like the pictures. Smelly beds. I stayed in a lot of hotels around the world. And this for sure cant be a 4 star hotel maybe 2star. I booked a 4 star hotel with booking.com two weeks ago in Valencia that was exellent.
poor air-con, this has been an issue for the past three years!
Good price, value for money. A/c was a blessing after walking around in heat all day. Location was good, close to busses and tours, shopping/eating. Tv didn't work well.
Lobby Late night noise - and wake up call did not come as requested.
Central location and friendly staff. The rooms are in need of redecoration. On the second day the lift did not work.
Hotel was located in tourist area. Nice resturants nearby. Hotel breakfast was good and inexpensive. A bit noisey in the mornings (believe some renovation work was underway). Air conditioning inside room was weak.
Well located and excellent value for off season rate Could do with a refurb - listed as 4 star in reality 3 star
The location and view from the room was excellent. The room was spacious with plenty of room for a family of four. The staff were rude. The receptionist shouted at my wife upsetting her.The bedding and towels were not changed for 6 days despite repeated requests. The room was not cleaned for 6 days. We had to buy our own toilet tissue.
budget price isolated from main population
Needs renovation badly .However it was value for money.Good for anyone on a restricted budget. Staff were friendly as are all Maltese. would like a dead lock on the bedroom door.Did not feel particularly safe at night so we slept with furniture in front of the door.TV was appalling , very old and a picture with blue colour overtones and only one English Channel. Breakfast was very unexciting. No fruit , synthetic fruit juice, very fatty bacon... Would be nice to have beach towels provided . We had to go and buy those ..
Location, sea views, pool, nearby restaurants, bus stop 150m. Mini market useful. Dining room OK for breakfast, but rather spartan for dinner.Damp problem from bath side into bedroom will become a complaint if not fixed.
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff. Cleanliness. Remarkable value for money.
location and good pool looks a bit rough round the edges in places! seems no control of who uses the pool.
had all amenities in case needed restricted parking, not marked from on main approach road Could be very noisy early in morning when people were off to catch early flighs - may have been solely as we were nextto the lift!
the staff are very friendly and hospitable. the food is great value for money in the restaurant. right next to bus stop so you can get to most places with easy access. The hotel is great value for money overall - but you get what you paid for. if you want quiet and peacefull this is perfect if you want a nightlife go somewhere closer to st julians. I loved the place but it can get boring at times. the hotel is in an area which basicaly stops at 7pm during the winter, with only entertainment on friday and saturday nights. the jacuzzi and saunna are turned on my tokens which you have to pay for - and you pay for TV to be in your room.
close to everything but then on the other hand Malta is so small that it really makes no difference where you stay as the distance is really short no beach despite its advertised as the waterfront hotel
staff were very helpful and friendly.location was good, calm neighborhood,a few nice restaurants around and near bus stop.rent-a-car was reasonable.bed was nice since I like a hard bed. breakfast was not excellent but for the price maybe fair....information said there was sea view, but actually it seemed to depend on which floor you stay.we had a room on the lower floor which had a view of dumpster and buildings.there were small things in the water from the tap.
Good location of the hotel, close to the sea, bus stop, restaurants and shops. Helpful staff, big rooms (studios), swimming pool. Air condition could work more efficiently. Small lift. My visa card was charged with total payment for the accomodation yet before stay at the hotel .
the hotel was clean and tidy, not many facilities, but they are starting from scratch,as this hotel has just recently reopened as they had run it down over the last 5 years, sad because its only 21yr old hotel and was a good hotel at one time.but with a bit of hard work they will get it back to what it was,may take 2yr or more to fix,but with the good staff they have shouldnt be a problem, good value for money hotel.helpful staff as well and as i said should be a good hotel again in 2yrs.the bad comments about this hotel were in 2009 but hotel is better now but still needs improving which they were doing when we were staying there. they said there was a kids club when booking with you but there wasnt, maybe they will have one in the future
Excellent location /very close to central bus station and sea/, good comfort, good value for price
Fantastic value for money and great food in the Tai Piju restaurant with very reasonable drinks prices in the restaurant and the bar. The beds were very comfortable. Lots of the rooms overlook the busy main road, and there was loud music until 1am from a karaoke bar on one of the four nights I stayed. The pool area could do with a revamp but this is really nitpicking as the hotel was so cheap and it met my expectations for the price.
I liked best the value for money of this hotel: I spent very few money for a one bedroom apartment you could comfortably stay in 4 people in (we were 2).
Great value for the money. Excellent location. Very friendly and helpfull staff. Would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Actually: nothing to mention. Cockroach in the room. Cleaners come into the room immediately after knocking in the morning. Very noisy.
We had 2 big beds in diffirent rooms and a well equipt kitchen. (although we booked a 1 bedroom) The staff was nice and their was an inside pool. Value for money is very good, don't expect to much. But for the money we spend it is very cheap. comedycentral on TV That the hot water didn't work the evening before we left, we couldnt shower at night and not in the morning. They used my creditcard to pay, and not on arrival. Although it is said other on the reservation by booking.com
Let's start with the positive things first: you won't find a cheaper hotel on Malta and the hotel is fine if you're just using the place as a base and want to discover the island / lie on the beach etc. They have some all packages for about 40 € for a double room which include half board. It is quite central in Bugibba and the bus station is only about 300 meters way, where you can get to anywhere in Malta easily. It is definitely good value for money. On the negative side, it is very run-down and tatty, in need of paint and new furniture. The hotel is used as a base for a number of language schools, which means that there are lots of teenagers running around and the noise level is often very high, especially with the thin plywood doors and echoing corridors. Water pressure in the bathroom was a joke and if you've got long hair, expect to spend a l-o-o-o-o-t of time sitting in the bath, trying to rinse shampoo out. The other irritant was that the hotel doesn't appear to get a record of the booking from booking.com, so you have to take a paper copy with you.
this hotel is very good value i have stayd before but was full of noisy students this time a pleasure food very good and very quite will stay again if no students in summer it is also great location near sea front and local bars and bus station would recomend this hotel as long as no students everything ok so cant complain
Good recetionits work Owful cleaning and room service
The location is lovely. Great views of St. Paul's Bay. For what we paid, it was good value for money. When arriving late at night, receptionist denied knowledge of our booking as they hadn't checked their printer all day to find the fax from booking.com (which had been there since the morning!). General hotel maintenance is not excellent. Breakfast was average.
Beautiful location, extremely friendly staff, very clean, an absolutly amazing restaurant. I would not hesitate to stay here again
the room was equipped quite well. the shower was uncomftable. I could not shower convinently finding quite ergonomical to shower.
