Just the location
First of all, airconditioning was very bad. the temperature was controlled and looks like it is in fan only. Had to open windows to have fresh air. Need to ask for toiletries as they don't put enough for two people. Front desk was not too helpful when my luggage was missing. I had it stored for the weekend as we went out of town and when I claimed it, one of the two luggages is gone, must have been lost or stolen. We were leaving the next day and it has been more than 5 days now and I have not heard from them. You know how it feels to lose a luggage with all my shopping, gifts I bought and all the efforts and time spent. The hotel has no sense of responsibility, did not care and no apology was extended to me, very bad customer service!
Excellent location – 5 min walk to metro station. Good breakfast.
Bathroom should be renovated. The room is not enough clean for 4 star hotel.
The morning buffet was excellent. Also the staff were very helpful.
Our room was not cleaned one morning while we where out, even though we had our tag on the door.
The room was nice and spacious, we the junior suite. The restaurant and breakfast buffet was good. The location to the bus stop/metro train was good, and easy to find for traveling in the city.
The inside of the hotel was nice, but it was a little worn down. We were supposed to have free breakfast room service in the morning, but the food and coffee was cold and it was not that good. And then when we went to check out, they were going to charge us for the room service.
Close to a metro station. In a quiet location. Room quiet.
Difficult to find hotel as it is now called Domus Mariae but was booked as the Grand hotel Palazzo Carpegna. Kept waiting at arrival as staff answered phones and messed about with the computer. Not allowed to use the dining room as it is reserved for groups only nor the other smaller one which was not opened. Had to take my meal in the bar where there was interuption from other guests. Food expensive for a bar but of good quality. Although described as being located in a park there did not seem to be any access to the park from the hotel. Room was in the attic and only view was via a skylight therefore you had not much idea of what was going on. Skylight did not have a blind so there was light early in the morning making sleep difficult.
Quiet location in a park, no traffic noise. Very good breakfast.
Uncomfortable pillows, very hard. Would have liked some soft ones.
good size room, good breakfast
The room was very clean and well furnished. The staff answered all our questions about Rome in a very friendly and comprehensive way. I think the hotel is definiteley four star standard and could not understand some of the negative comments about this hotel. Book with Confidence.
The bar was a bit pricey.. ..but most hotels are!
Very grand. Excellent breakfast. Good position and pleasant grounds
Rather austere, and rooms were rather noisy. You could easily hear what was going on in the next room
The bedroom was very modern and the appearance of the hotel.
I thought that breakfast was very poor. After staying there for three nights, I was sick of the breakfast as there was not enough variety. As alot of people that stay at the hotel are from different countries, I think a better selection of foods on offer would be an advantage. i.e. fresh fruit, more hot food, fresh orange juice and other other juices etc. I have stayed at many hotels around the world and a fantastic breakfast is something that people look out for. The location is very good as it is only 5 minutes from the metro and there are alot of places to eat. Overall, I would recommend staying there but ensure that you don't pay too much. In regards to service, we found that the staff at the hotel were fine. If it is your first time to Italy then be prepared to meet alot of rude people!! However, you will meet some interesting characters and you just need to smile and carry on with your own business. Enjoy!!
