Pros: Bed rooms very comfortable and nicely decorated. Water in rooms a very nice touch.
Cons: No sitting room! Two families with kids had to spend evening in bed room not ideal. No breakfast options given lady serving ( wasn't the owner) seemed stressed & moody didn't dare ask for omelette instead of fry on offer! All agreed her attitude would impact upon us staying again.

Pros: Maureen our host was very welcoming and her sister Sandra was fantastic at looking after us - the room was clean, spacious and well presented, the little touch of bottles of cold water in a fridge for all guests and fresh cold milk was excellent, slept well, shower was lovely. Breakfast the next morning was a feast!!!! Good selection of cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts, and breads. My youngest asked for pancakes and Sandra obliged!!!! She was delighted to have chocolate spread on one pancake and butter on the other. How kind to go "off" menu for my daughter!!!! Myself and the other two girls went for the fry which was well presented, hot and very tasty. All in all, a fantastic B&B which I would definitely visit again - centrally located in Emmet Square and very easy to find.

Pros: Shirley proved a wonderfully welcoming host. The rooms are large and guests have the use of a downstairs lounge / dining room with TV, fridge with milk, microwave and tea and coffee making facilities. The setting is very rural and extremely quiet, a few minutes walk from Rathdowney. We were staying over for a wedding at Castle Durrow, and Shirley (who also runs a hairdressing business from home) was on hand to blow-dry and style at no extra charge! Rathdowney deosn't offer much for eating out in the evening, but there are plenty of options in Abbeyleix (20 mins) or Durrow (15 mins).

5.0 Okay
Pros: The staff were extremely polite and friendly, the breakfast in the mornings was very good with excellent service. The location was close to the village centre
Cons: We were in room 9, on the first day we got there the TV was not working, we reported this and the owner came to look at it and could not get it working, he dissapeard without fixing it, so we went for the rest of the stay with no TV, only on checkout did he tell us he had fixed it, the kettle in the room was not fit for drinking out of as it was full of lime scale, the telephone to contact reception was not working when we needed it. The plug for charging electric razor in bathroom was not working, the light above the mirror in the bathroom was not working, and the hairdryer that was in the living area was not working, to use her own hairdryer my wife had to pull the dressing table with mirror in to the sleeping area, there were also similar problems in the rooms my family were staying in.

Cons: The room was a bit too warm.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location was very central and within walking distance of restaurants and attractions in Birr. Lovely period property with spacious rooms and good breakfast.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Public rooms were welcoming. Tea/coffee was available all day as was food with excellant service. The feel was of visiting an elagant home not a stuffy hotel.
Cons: Internet was poor. You need a hot spot then that is not strong. Remember it is in the country side.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Kinnitty Castle met all of our expectations for a castle stay in Ireland. The property was beautiful. We had a great dinner in the Dungeon Bar and then had a night cap in the Library Bar where the bar tender entertained us with stories about the castle. I wish we had more time to go on the walks that are near the property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
4.5 Okay
Pros: Room
Cons: The bar had a dirty atmosphere. Overall castle had a very cold atmosphere. Breakfast was very rough and ready. Fire needed to be lit and table cloths would help. Potential but lot of work needed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The castle is beautiful ! I love it so much ! ❤️
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very warm and friendly and all food catered for the wedding we attended was fantastic. We were able to see several rooms of other wedding guests and all were unique and very clean. There is something interesting around every corner at the castle. Well done Kinnitty!
Cons: WIFI was a bit spotty
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Seriously awesome - loved the rooms, the ambiance and the location
Cons: The hotel needs to clearly clarify their main restaurant bookings - very mixed messages. We ate in the restaurant the first night and on the second we were told it was full but we had asked earlier to make a reservation and they said no need !!! Little disappointed - there were other people who were also upset by this. Communicating your policy on how to book or how the restaurant is run would help
7.0 Good
Pros: The property is beautiful, the Dungeon bar is nice and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast is conveniently served between 8 and 10 am and the noon checkout time is a plus. We appreciated having a kettle in our room for tea and coffee and the Library Bar stayed open as long as there were patrons.
Cons: The castle is a convenient location between Killarney and Dublin. It makes for a nice stop over after a day of sightseeing on the way to Dublin. We expected to have dinner in the Dungeon Bar and stay there for an evening of drinks and live music. We were very disappointed to find that there was no live music the evening we stayed, the town is small and there was no live music in town either. After travelling for the day and checking in we were looking forward to a relaxing, entertaining evening. However, we left the castle to find somewhere with entertainment, but were unable. We didn't want to travel more than 20 minutes and didn't want to have a couple of drinks and drive back.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing, staff were very friendly, location and grounds of the hotel were amazing!
Cons: Had trouble with the hot water and dinner was served in a lounge area, sometimes making it difficult to get quick service. We were also disappointed that the Dungeon Bar, which had been prominently advertised on the website, was closed the entire time of our stay. We were told it was closed for renovation, but there were no signs of any renovations being done.

4.3 Okay
Pros: The whole idea of Glamping
Cons: They closed the doors in the kitchen depriving us all to pass by going in and out the small kitchen. Instead we have to go all the way up to the stairs to the Townhouses and all the way down (stairs) just for us to use their microwave or boil the kettle. Very inconvenient. The staffs are nowhere to be found, pr should I say there’s literally no staff, not even one in the accomodation. I have to text or call someone (Eleonor) if I wanted to ask or pay something, even then, she’s not answering text or phone calls when being contacted.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Booked this for a couple of friends, staff very friendly and showed us where everything was, kitchen, showers, bathrooms. Everything was prefect and they had the breakfast basket delivered to them this morning. Nice and easy to book and pay

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Tina, the hostess when we were there is AWESOME. She makes the place. And, the breakfast was great. For us the location was very good as well. The room was quiet. For us it was only a one night stay - would I stay there again - yes.
Cons: These days electrical outlets are more and more important (to charge up cameras, phones, iPads etc), I have noticed that a number of the British and Irish locations we used did not have very convenient plug locations (if this is our big problem, why then isn't life grand). The mirror in our bedroom was meant for someone 6 feet plus. The room we had was a little cramped.

The showers were a bit of a nuisance as the door/frame was not long enough and in each of our bathrooms (we had two rooms) the rest of the floor got wet.
