No microwave in roon, some staff were rude
OK Value & next to IHOP & Walmart Old, worn, & smelly. Was itching in my bed. Not sure if it was mosquito bites, or otherwise, but I was in town for 4 more nights and was never again bit by mosquitoes, so IDK. Smelled funky, especially A/C.
It was close to the airport and restaurants The sheets and bathroom were very dirty. The bathroom floors had hair everywhere. The tub/shower was dirty. I cleaned the bathroom myself. It was gross!
Front desk attendant told us we could have paid less by booking straight through them. Everything else. Smelly, dirty, older, run down, cigarette burns in the sheets, husband bit up by bed bugs, We paid $130 for a room that should have cost $30, MAYBE $40. Very disappointed, will never stay at a Super 8 again.
Convenient location. Older. But, they are renovating.
Easy location to airport. (PIE) Many shady characters around. We were awakened early in the morning by someone screaming "Help me!" in the hallway on 3rd floor... and then arguing and more yelling. Ruined our trip.
good value the safe is nice but costs extra. didn't see that sign till i was checking out
Price Poor breakfast :(
Bed, smell, noise
The manager helped us locate a room that we felt was right for us, no questions asked. This was our second stay here and wont be our last. Clean beds clean rooms clean bathrooms comfy beds great breakfast Tv needed channels to be reset
Staff was awesome! Pool was super clean and beautiful landscapes. Breakfast was great and area always spotless. Front desk gave us an upgrade to a room with fridge and microwave without charging and a room with a pool view! Toilet didn't always flush and shower head was broken but we were able to manage. And a few bugs but it is Florida.
It was functional. Shower drain clogged easily, water collected in the bath during shower. AC is positioned to goes right across the bed, making it somewhat uncomfortable. Wifi connection was impossible from my room, as the signal kept dropping out. All things that can be worked around or ignored, not a huge deal. My only real grievance is the door. The seal along the bottom was falling off, leaving a gap for bugs to get in.
That they had wasps nest near the door
location was nice hotel staff was nice free wifi was nice hallways to rooms smelled like cigarettes and wine coolers pillow cases had the previous persons hair on them sink in bathroom had hair left in it from shaving by the previous person refrigerator smelled a little moldy and had a sheet of ice on the inside of it that stunk.
the rooms were nice parking area in need of repair, halls little dirty
The heated pool was a wonderful amenity. I swam laps each day either before I went out or in the evening, 9-10. Breakfast was more than adequate. Link tv, channel 375, was available on the tv and was what I watched most of the time I was in the room. The bed was comfortable and the room was kept clean each day. I was able to secure my computer in the room safe. And I only spent about $50/night.
Very easy to get to everything I wasn't but if you had a second floor room you had to use the stairs..
Easy reach from Interstate (though outdated address on our sat nav), some 15-20 minutes from beach. Superb pool with seating, BBQ and animals to watch and be watched by (lizards & squirrels).
Wi-Fi access, free breakfast and also a good diner next door. Staff was very helpful. Pool was very nice. A good value, honestly. Could use some updating: ie, painting and fixtures, bathroom cabinets. Pillows were very flat, obviously rather old and used.
Very attentive staff, nice place, great deal and the kids love it too!
I liked that the room met my needs and the pool was right in front of my door. I think the hotel is good. However, maybe you can update some of the furniture in the lobby and add an accent wall or modern decor to help boost up a more luxurious feel? Especially since you are competing with other hotels in the strip. You don't want to look like the "cheap one" . Keep your affordable prices and good house keeping and just do a few cosmetic upgrades. Its very inexpensive and i think it would be more visually attractive. You will get more customers as well because they will feel like they are walking into a more high end hotel. Be careful with the pool lock (it doesn't really lock, i think its broken) that might be a liability in case a child is ever out late at night and wants to sneak in the pool. Also keep all pool toys in a safe place and organized.
Well my second day there we left bright and early for the beach. Once we arrived back to our room, we noticed housekeeping had came. Great! Then we went to plus our phones up to charge. OUR CHARGERS WERE GONE! The next morning i went straight to the front desk. The lady said she would talk to the supervisor. At this time, i let her know the fridge wasnt staying cool. She said maintenance would be out to fix it. I never heard anything back. So every morning after that i went to the front desk to ask about charger. She eventually told me, she doesnt see any of her people stealing and brushed it off. Needless to say we have to buy new chargers because someone stole ours. And maintenance didnt come for the fridge until 2 hours before our checkout.
Nothing Lous dirty smells
Stayed one night to visit my daughters college in St. Petersburg.
I would like my money back, I didn't get any rest, whole reason why I purchased the hotel in the first place. I was supposed to get a callback from the manager, never did. Contacted kayak as well to see if they can speak with them representative was very rude. From the bed to the TV not working properly to the noisy people outside.
Two (2) positive offerings will make your stay pleasant. First, the availability of the wee-stocked breakfast offerings is a welcome bonus. Last, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is reminiscent of what great customer service should represent. N/A
My stayed at the Magnuson Hotel Clearwater Central was excellent. The room was very clean and spacious. The best part for me was the pool area. It was really relaxing; I enjoyed swimming in the pool and laying down on the chairs while sun was shinning. The personnel was really corteous and professional at all time.
The only positive is that is was right down the road from Lowry park zoo.. When I saw the negative comments on this motel I thought people were being picky. well, they under played how bad it was. 1st I was nearly in tears from the obnoxious amounts of cleaners I smelled when I first walked in, 2nd I killed 4 roaches, finally I felt like I was going to fall through the shower floor because the floor of the tub was cracked and broken and their method of fixing it was gluing the bath mat down. The only reason I even stayed here for the full night was do to the fact that someone had been shot and murdered and 3 injured at a hookah lounge just a few blocks from this motel and hadn't been caught yet.. To conclude DONT DO IT!!
It was easy access to highway and main roads. The bed was very comfortable, although the box spring looked very dirty. Dust ruffles help keep box clean. Usually in the budget hotels beds are awful. I have very bad allergies and asthme. The cleaners you use have a lingering smell which is a big irritant. Possibly go with a fragrance free cleaner.
was not clean
The pool was nice No coffee in the room The shower leaked and on the floor shower sprayed and smelled like strong bleach
Clean, well kept and well priced. The Lady at check-in was friendly, professional and made me feel very welcome. Absolutely nothing
You can't beat the price and location. It was noisy due to the traffic. I would have prefered central air instead of a window air conditioner.
there were 2 bedrooms and close enough to beach to walk to it the beds were very uncomfortable and bathroom was very small
It was very cost effective, but a great room. The beds weren't the best to sleep on, however the kitchen made up for the uncomfortable bed. Just take an extra pillow and you're set! Just the bed.
The location was very nice. It wasn't too close to the busy part of the beach area which made it nice and quiet. But, close enough walk to the everything. It took awhile for the a/c to cool down the room. Other than that, it was all fine.
Good location in southcentral Clearwater Beach, close to the Beach. The staff was very friendly. The room was large and we were actually upgraded to a kichenette unit, at no extra charge. Nice linens. Alot of foreign tourists were here. You should understand that the rooms don't actually face the beach. This is an older motel type setup, no balconies and some items like the air conditioner, lights and TV were on their last legs, so if you want luxury this is not it. Also, they do not provide maid service on Sundays, but they did leave us extra towels, so no big deal.
Location, convenience, parking, facilities are a little behind, hotel needs updating and remodeling
close to the beach. It is too old.needs major work. front disk attitude
It's proximity to everything, nearly anyplace I wanted to go was just a short walk away.
Excelent location with beach just across the road. The pricetag was a little bit high for such type of room, if it wasn't for the great location.
