Location. Friendly and polite stuff.
Very worn out hotel. Very unpleasant and untidy cafeteria. Finding a clean plate at breakfast was a struggle. The coffee machine was so dirty that it smells bad. The room itself was quite clean, but worn out. Old uncomfortable beds. Extremely small shower corner. Over all not a 3-star level and definitely not worth the money.
Staf, I mean all of them, are very courteous and helpful. Even when english not being everyones language there, many were only too keen to help even by sign. They showed an attitude of how can it be done
One room's aircon broke, which we noticed after coming back at night, but helpful staff changed to a better room-thank you
great service and hospitality! the staff at the reception, especially Anastasia are very professional and accommodating. The Hermitage is a 20 minute nice walk and the view from the room is superb.
The staff at the reception was nice enough and helpfull. The room was booked with doublebed, but it appeared to be two single beds. They fixed it but the blankets were not changed due to request, though promised to do so.
Restaurant staff was rude enough. There was an issue with plates cleanliness. Shortage of food and it was updated very slowly.
The staff in the hotel were very nice and professional. I liked the cool water dispensers in the corridor.
The room was small and furniture sub standard. There wasn’t a bedside light for both sides of the bed. When we asked for one, another was provided but with no possibility of plugging it in. The air condition unit leaked, and it was only on the last day that we were given a spare toilet paper roll. We asked for a basin plug and that was provided. We are a regular user of booking.com and a Genius customer. It was clear that we were a family of 4 requiring two rooms. Our children were put in room 309 with the smallest twin beds I have ever seen. Our room was 307. The rooms opposite our room were a much better size with decent sized twin beds. The breakfasts were sub standard and most un appetising. The staff in the restaurant seemed to be keen for their shift to finish and closed off the buffet with screens at precisely 10.30 and even one morning turned off the coffee machine at just before 10.30. For a 3 star hotel is was grossly over priced, to the point I feel that there must have been some mistake in the rate. Much better hotels closer to the centre were cheaper than the Asteria. This hotel is not suitable for disabled people as there is a staircase to climb before you get to the lobby.
A stay at Asteria Hotel places you in the heart of St. Petersburg, steps from Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater and a 2-minute drive from Nevsky Prospect. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Planning an event in St. Petersburg? This hotel has 323 square feet (30 square meters) of space consisting of conference space and a meeting room. For a surcharge, guests may use a shuttle from the airport to the hotel (available 24 hours) and a train station pick-up service.
