The location, the design and the cleanliness.
It was all good.
Location is super convenient and has a nice view on the church.
Very noisy. There is a bar downstairs and has music till 6am. Drunk youngsters scream outside while smoking. The entrance to the hotel is very dirty (because it is the same entrance with the hotel). At night it is not safe at all, because you never know if these drunk people come to the hotel or not.
- Noice inside of building - No regular cleaning service - Not enough soap and shampoo - Dont recharge toalet paper - Changing towels on 3 days - No flor towel
Close to Subway
This is by far the worst experience I have had in any hostel, especially for the price we had to pay for the rooms. Before arrival we specifically asked about residency registration, which they are obliged to provide by law. They said it was no problem at all. Upon arrival it became apparent we’re dealing with a hostel, not a hotel, even though this is what they call themselves on booking.com. I won’t get into the amount of blood on the stairway floor. The staff simply kept making excuses for not wanting to give us hotel registration, telling us to ‘come back later’ and eventually just advising us to take care of it ourselves, so much for the promised service. The staff really doesn’t care and any request or question seems to be a great inconvenience to them. It gets worse though... The rooms are directly above a bar, the music plays deep into the night. Supposedly that’s where the blood is from (bar fights). It’s incredibly loud, and so is the noise from the street. Sleeping with the windows closed is the only way to somewhat dampen the sounds. This poses a new problem: the lack of air conditioning makes the rooms heat up very quickly, so be prepared to sweat your way through the night. The reception has some air fans, but of course almost all of them are broken. One doesn’t even have a functioning plug anymore, but wasn’t being disposed of. When you finally do fall asleep, you are rudely awoken by the receptionist playing loud music himself, which he will reluctantly turn off when complaining. Oh yeah, and I stepped into some glass in my own room (this was after 2 nights, and I didn’t break any glass), causing my foot to bleed. The reception couldn’t care much and just gave me an old bag with crappy medical supplies I wouldn’t treat my worst enemy with. Then there’s other issues like clogged drains, mosquitoes, paper thin walls, tiny showers, hot water randomly turning cold, broken power outlets, etc etc. these things didn’t really matter to us anymore.
