A nice small hostel in the city center. Great restaurants are just behind the corner. I stayed only for a night and I'm happy with all the facilities the hostel has provided. Super friendly staff. I will definitely stay there one more time.
Maybe if you have to spend more than 1 night I recommend to book the whole room (I had only a bed), but it was not a problem for me. Also, note that there might be a queue to the shower
Staff at front desk was nice and smiling. Location : on one side it is close to a metro station but on the other side it’s a bit far away of the touristic attractions of Saint Petersburg. There is a shop open 24h 100m away the hostel. The price we paid was fair.
no AC + no net on windows = lot of mosquitos. The owner requested us to pay for the first night via a Russian website in order to confirm the reservation. This was annoying as we were only given 24h to do so and the website was not working and not looking secure... i would recommend the owner to use the standard booking.com feature for managing deposits. Payment for the rest of our stay was cash only even it says credit card accepted. Cleaning in the bunk bed should be improved (around/under the mattress). We were a bit disappointed by our stay at Taiga as we were expecting a paiement/booking process easier, to better confort (no mosquitos) and a better cleanliness in the beds.
It's a small, cute hostel with very friendly staff. The beds are comfortable, with curtains, sockets and a lot of storage space. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated. When I was there, mostly Russians were staying there, they did try to make friends but my limited Russian and their limited English prevented us from doing so:)
Despite the rule that says to keep quiet after 11, one of my two nights there it got really noisy in the common area after midnight and the conversations went on till 2 o'clock. It's a small place so if you're in one of the rooms close to the reception, you can hear everything that's going on there. Possibly not your first choice if you're after a quiet place.
This hostel is so cosy. The location is perfect. The facilities are great and It’s very clean. The staff is amazing, (Igor, Loba, Elya and Daniel) Thank you for being helpful and kind.
I was staying in a room with ensuite bathroom with shared kitchen and washing machine to use in the public area. It was spacy, comfortable, and clean. We arrived at about 7am in the morning that we have to wake up the reception staff for having us. The boy at reception doesn't speaks much English but he is just so kind and tried to help. about 2 minutes walk from the hotel there is a lovely street filled with restaurant of all kinds and young beautiful local people. We was dinning in one called smoke BBQ and it was just amazing.
