Very sweet owner and staff. Excellent location in the heart of Pelo so you can easily walk to anything. Decent stocked and good priced corner market a few steps away. Option to do some basic cooking or eat out. Good sized space for the price and location. Very safe area for the family. Police patrol the streets all day and night. We were never harassed or even approached...times have changed and easy to walk around and enjoy the fun and vibrant city.
Def a bit dated inside but it fits with the character of the area you are in. Over 2 bars which can be a bit loud until after 12 but with the windows closed and fans on it was ok A/C didn't work
Perfect location! Walking distance to all the main spots. Rooms were maintained regularly. We didn’t get a chance to try the breakfast but it smelled great every morning. Would definitely stay here again.
Can’t think of anything!
This property is in the heart of the Pelourinho historic district in Salvador. These are apartments with kitchens and dining/sitting areas. Great value for the money, very clean, comfortable accommodations. Breakfast available for additional charge and served in your flat. There is an AC unit in the bedroom. The staff came up every day and cleaned. They were gracious and kind to us throughout our stay.
No criticism at all, but a few words of advice: 1. The staff primarily speaks Portuguese, so if you're monolingual, be prepared to navigate this. 2. You will have to carry your luggage up some narrow stairs, but we didn't find it difficult at all. 3. If you're looking for fancy accommodations and low noise factor, this place is not for you! It's a plain, clean, comfortable place, perfect for those who want a decent home base for exploring the area. We didn't find the noise to be difficult, since the bedroom didn't face the street and the door to it cut out most of the noise. It's upstairs from some lively night time spots, but nothing that went on unreasonably late. The only reason I gave a slightly lower score on the facilities is because these are budget accommodations where you will not have certain conveniences like elevators.
Great location, The breakfast was not included in the price, so we arranged with the landlady to have it in the morning (BRL 15 per person) and it was great! The rooms in the suite were spacious and the bathroom was clean.
Internet worked quite well the first day, but the second day it was extremely slow. Also, something that has nothing to do with the pousada, but is well worth knowing is that the street tends to be very noisy at all times of the day. We happened to be in Salvador during a major festival and sleeping at night (late, as well as early in the morning) proved to be a challenge (to say the least).
We had a private room on the top floor which came with a very big balcony and the whole floor was ours as there were no other rooms on the top floor. Location is right off the main square in Pelourinho. Breakfast is very complete and deliciius and was served in our room every day. The price for what we got was very good.
Too many stairs to get to the top
