Noisy and Dirty
The parking was convenient to my room.
The walls were thin. Heard the alarm going off in the morning in the room next to me. The room was next to the ScrantonCollege Athletic field which played loud music during and event taking place (girls soccer game). Lastly the room was not very clean. The soap used from the prior guests was still in the bath tub.
The historic building, the way it's converted to a hospital. It gives you a good feeling.
Didn't have any floor mats/carpets near bathroom
Unique Hotel
Love the old train station re-purposing. It's really a well kept and well run hotel. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.
Exceeded expectations!
While we enjoyed the uniqueness of the train station turned hotel, we were impressed by the staff. From the desk clerks right down to the bartender, EVERYONE made us feel at home and bent over backwards to take care of our needs. Though I could use anyone as an example, I was particularly struck by the friendliness and professionalism of one of your longtime lady bartenders (whose name escapes me). I came quite late. Though she was probably thinking she would get out early, she bent over backwards to find out what I wanted. A few other regulars came in and she made a point of introducing us in the most engaging an appropriate way I have ever experienced in a Pennsylvania Hotel. I can see why this lady has been retained for 30 years and I only regret that I've forgotten her name as she deserves to be properly appreciated.
Not being able to get a receipt because I booked via Kayak with a service that you don't access directly.
The building was historic and located in a convienient area.
We booked with booking.com and the hotel had no record of our reservation. We found the prior persons dental floss in our room on the floor next to the bed. The worst part was hearing the music from the bar Kildares from across the street all night long...
Beautiful structure in a great location
Noisy.
Upgrades at Radisson Laskawanna
I have been making an annual trip to Scranton, Pa for the last 15 years. I always stay at the Radisson Lakawanna. The lobby decor has been preserved ( beautiful marble, mosaics, and stained glass). The rooms have recently been redecorated - or are in the process. This is a welcome improvement. The staff is friendly and helpful. We love dining at Carmen's ( in the hotel). Good food at a reasonable price.
Could Be a Great Hotel
The refurbishment of the grand train station into a hotel is nearing completion and they have kept much of the details of the main station lobby. It feels grand, though I question some of their design choices (neon bright spot lights?)
The heating systems were off and on, including bouts of cold and hot water in the showers. The food at the grill and their main restaurant was Okay, but nothing to get excited about.
Room not ready
The hotel is in a historic train station. Wonderful restoration.
I arrived early, so the room was not ready. Okay, I was told I would get a call on my mobile phone when a room was ready. That call never came. As the normal check-in time approach, I returned to the hotel to find that my room had been ready but that no one had found the time to call me.
The rooms were very large, beds very comfortable. The hotel lobby was very elegant and the old train terminal atmosphere was very cool.
The bathroom was renovated with a stone vanity and very nice tile, but they used a very crappy tub surround.
