The type of car rental in Scranton largely depends on who you're traveling with and what you want to do while in town. If you want to explore the outdoors, like driving to Lackawanna State Park or going on a road trip, then an SUV would be ideal because it is perfect for the terrain. An SUV is still the top choice for travelers with families because it provides enough space. Otherwise, if you stay within the city, you'll need a small car like a sedan to navigate the tight streets and parking spots. You can also rent a luxury car, but these are only ideal for road trips.
Sure, you can rent an electric car in Scranton from a variety of car rental companies. Some well-known car rental companies that provide electric vehicles include Avis, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Hertz. But, it's a good idea to contact these businesses beforehand to confirm that renting an electric car is an option as their availability may change depending on the time of year and demand.
The speed limit in Scranton varies in different places. Generally, the speed limit ranges from 20 mph to 70 mph. In the school district and residential areas, the limit is 20 mph. The limit increases to 25 mph in the streets, and on the highway, the limit further increases to 70 mph. Nonetheless, some streets have a 35 mph speed limit, as indicated on signage. All car rentals in Scranton are to adhere to these speed limit rules. If you're unsure about the limit in a particular area, always look for road signage that indicates the same.
Scranton doesn't have any toll highways. A few significant routes nearby, though, might charge tolls. In the Scranton area, for instance, there are a number of exit ramps that lead to the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Interstate 76), a toll road that passes through the southern part of the state.
One of the factors that travelers consider when deciding on a car rental in Scranton is the availability of parking. You need to know that it's not too difficult to get parking in Scranton. However, if you're planning to drive to the more popular places in town, you must consider your parking options before leaving because parking in such areas can get filled up quickly. Scranton has allocated parking spots for the disabled all over the city. You should also note that parking spots in some streets are usually prohibited during certain hours when street cleaning is going on according to the city's schedule. In such instances, the town places signs for drivers.

Pros:
Staff was friendly, helpful, and very accommodating. Recommended upgrade for our needs and comfort; upgraded with no hassle and minimum waiting time.Cons:
Facility itself had a malodorous stale scent. Vehicle was hastily cleaned, as we upgraded last minute, but there remained evidence of previous renters (old spill, half full water bottle and some old food/candy under seat). Allowances made as the vehicle used was not the original one prepped.5.6 Fair

The rental agent while pleasant was disingenuous. She tried to convince me a ford focus was a "premium" car but also offered several small SUV's. The SUV I finally and reluctantly settled on was functional but far from my expectations.4.0 Mediocre
