Very relaxed atmosphere throughout, lovely warm pub/restaurant, locals and weary travellers welcome, plenty on offer to warm the soul both on tap and in the kitchen. The accommodation is at the back of the property and is a set of small individual separate bungalows, each separate from the other. Our room was large, came with a proper king size bed and a lovely en suite bathroom. Overall was a thoroughly charming spot to stay in.
Breakfast. Took too long. Should of been a quick affair and was told that they are short staffed in the mornings, nothing they can do about it. If this could somehow be fixed it would markedly improve the overall offering of the property.
The cabins are beautifully completed . The attention to detail is fantastic. The rooms are warm and comfy . The pub gardens are amazing . A very comfy , clean room . They allow dogs as well .
The food was very nice but what I didn’t appreciate was the extra unnecessary cost . I ordered a large Malbec , I had three costing £10 for a glass . A bottle, after I asked was £29. I felt like that young staff didn’t have any savvy to them . We ordered a Camembert too for a starter and as lovely as it was cooked there was little bread to share . I asked for some more but I had been charged £2 extra upon payment of the final bill . I appreciated our time there but when you’ve spent around £190 for the night and meal , those little extras , like the bottle would have been better had it of been suggested and a charge (! )for extra bread seemed so out of character for what was a lovely evening . Menial moans but was unnecessary .
Loved the cosy and friendly environment from the moment you walked in to the moment you decided you needed your bed. All the locals made you feel welcome and the facilities are amazing. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection.
