Friendly staffr, good location Parking is very poor
The staff were very friendly and made you feel at home. Breakfasts were excellent. Hotel very near the Eden Project & Lost Gardens of Heligan. The evening meals weren't very good (obviously frozen & re-heated, sometimes too burnt!), but breakfasts - see above
Very welcoming staff, good food and reasonably priced. Well stocked beers and my partner especially enjoyed the Rattler apple cider - delicious. Don't like plastic on the pillers, that's all really.
very nice and fiindly place
All staff very freindly. The local people also friendly.
Convenient for Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Helligan. Extremely noisy room (traffic). Breakfast table placed by toilets, and cleaner served breakfast at same time as cleaning floors and toilets. (Did she wash her hands?) No fresh fruit available as alternative to cooked breakfast.
Location near to Eden Project Lots of traffic noise. Old windows difficult to open. Unable to lock bedroom door from inside. Tired decor and furniture. Strong smell of cigarette smoke on landing. Uninspiring, dated menu in village with few other dining options.
Varied menu offering a selection of well preparied food. Welcoming landlord and landlady supported by friendly courteous staff.
Excellent, very friendly staff with clean and tidy rooms. Excellent proper pub downstairs with excellent real beer but residents have their own door to the rooms so you dont have to go through the pub if you dont want to. Very good breakfast alround a good value stay near to Eden Project.
friendly staff at times music too loud
The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The food was really tasty and freshly cooked. would stay there again
the staff could did everything to make my stay a good experience, they helped me to realy feel welcome from the start. they also informed me of local events.
A warm welcome and excellent room and a dinner menu that was delicious and well presented Booking out.
Our room was really comfortable and the little en suite shower room was just right for our needs, but when I wanted a bath it was great to have the beautiful shared bathroom too. Having the pub restaurant serve good value pub style food was a great advantage but if we'd wanted something else there were a couple of places just across the road. The staff were really thoughtful in helping us get around with cabs and suggesting other places to go in our spare time. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The bus to the station runs past the pub, which means that you can get to Eden and Heligan, as well as other local spots, by changing at the station. Tea and coffee were topped up straight away when we asked but I think it would have been nicer if they'd been replenished daily as a matter of course.
I thought the Duke of Cornwall had a great atmosphere. A good old fashioned pub. The food was well cooked and reasonably priced. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. My grandsons liked the modern flat screen tv which is unusual in this price range. Although the rooms were not ensuite and you had to use a communal toilet I think this is reflected in the price.
Clean and tidy and staff very friendly and helpful Bathroom a little on the small side
The foodwas very good and the hotel was very well run. The owners really care about the guests comfort and needs. They went the "extra mile"
