The place is really clean and it’s very affordable for us traveling with kids. It’s a bit distance from the main city center but we took taxi and it cost about 1250 yen which is okay for 4 people. There’s bus service that will take you to town center and only cost around 210 yen if you are traveling alone. Overall it’s good place to stay.
Great location for visiting the Hida Village. The hotel was clean and the staff very helpful and courteous. It wasn't as traditional lloking as some of the other hotels we stayed at but I had my best nights sleep here and the outdoor onsen, while small, was very enjoyable.
Very clean and comfortable. Good traditional breakfast and great Onsen
Too expensive for what you get. Too many rules and time restraints. DO NOT stay here if you don’t have a car. They offer a shuttle only from 3pm to 5pm and that is it. There is a public bus but it just works until 4pm. Only the girl at the reception is nice. It is ok that the man does not speak English but that has nothing to do with making the effort of being nice to people. He is just not very kind. He does not make that effort at all. To me it has been a very disappointing experience.
location is in very nice place, very " japanese " and we enjoyed walking around. we visited museum japan village- very interesting. Our stay was very short and afternoon it rained, so we did not visit the city, that is what we regret. the dinner in the hotel was excellent, but we had to leave the hotel too early to take a breakfest.
Breakfast was fantastic, great Japanese food, you may want to ask for fruit instead of salad. Diner look great but we were in town to late. The staff were excellent and went out of there way to make us welcome. Great introduction to Japanese accomodation. Loved onsen outside hot tub. They also have coin operated washing machine and dryer. You can if you want where Japanese kimono dressing gowns etc
For some people it could be a little out of town, approx 20 min walk ...not a problem for us but for others could be at night. Showers/bathrooms are shared so you have to understand it's a shared space. But no issue.
