the balcony views no entertainment
This hotel was right across from the funky beach. The view was fantastic and we were given a voucher which entitled us to half price beach chairs. Five minutes by bus into town where we found plenty of cafes and eateries. Staff were helpful and gave provided advice when necessary. Even gave us a bottle of wine on check out. There was a very unpleasant smell which came from the bathroom drains - we had to always keep the door closed.
Ferries went on strike and we couldn't get to the island. I called they told me they would refund me since we couldn't get to the island and send me a confirmation, they never did anything they said and did not refund me. Clearly don't trust these folks
The staff was excellent, very helpful and very friendly. The beach across the road was beautiful and very calm.
we loved the location, the entertainment on sat night was great, traditional greek dancers and music, a couple of clubs near port for the older kids. bus, taxis, ferries, and water taxis all on hand. this is a very nice relaxing island, galata across the port has shops also.
Beach very near, excellent service, a smile every morning from hotel staff.Very quiet.
Easy to get to and the beach being across the street was ideal. Lunch or dinner the food was excellent, breakfast was okay. The mattresses where too stiff.
Staff was great and very helpful.
Rooms, view, location Bar service, v poor breakfast
Service was just amazing! Very Beurifull location- Highly recommended
close to the beach
Fantastic location, great building The service of the hotel staff during breakfast was poor.
Very nice room and friendly staff. We had a bathtub and no shower and when we tried to shower in the bathtub there was water everywhere in the bathroom.
The hotel is excellent! The staff very friendly and everything was amazing!!!I recomment to everyone to go!The restaurant that the hotel has,is one of the best restaurants I have ever been!I have no words to discribe the fantastic time I spent there with my wife!
its size : not too big, although full, no feeling of being among big crowd.homely feeling, artbooks here and there displayed on coffeetables. Breakfast also very nice with fresh fruits and fresh orangjuice and excellent italian cuisine. the terrace is great for before ar after dinner evening drinks the works in front
Friendliness and cleanliness
Very nice room, quite and comfortable. The breakfast was also very good. Somewhat distant from the port, you've got to walk 5 minutes uphill a slope to reach the hotel: try to avoid to have this walk from 12 to 17 :) A little bit expensive
Beautiful terrace, good room. Extremely friendly and helpful service too,
Beautifully decorated rooms, very helpful staff
Breakfast outside in the terrace was beautiful and the fact that there are not many stairs to go to the hotel. Yes, the beds were not a double, but two singles near each other which was not comfortable. The room was very small too.
Location, Design, Cleanliness of the hotel. Beds not as comfortable third bed not suitable .
Beatiful and romantic rooms, very quiet, good breakfast. very expensive in relation to the level of accomodation, place and services. The staff don't give you any help in relation to internet problems and during the checkout.
Quiet location on wonderfully beautiful island with leafy courtyard for breakfast and shared balcony Plumbing/electrics/bathrrom was old but to be expected on a Greek island with no roads
Very comfortable and pleasent room with outside terrace with tables, deck chairs and sun beds. Quiet and you sleep very well. The Jacuzzi in the bathroom was nice as well as the outside hot tub. The quality fo the breakfast doesn´t live up to a 4 start hotel, certainly not to a vip Boutique hotel.
None of the options above sum up the hotel. It is a nice hotel, above average but certainly not luxury. The staff were friendly the rooms were very clean and the amenities good. The courtyard is lovely and it has a small friendly vibe going on. All together a pleasant stay. The breakfast was not very inspiring.
location, by the sea, private beach even though not a sandy beach, excellent staff, nice terrace for the meals with sea view the bathroom even though is clean, it is old and needs a renovation
Close proximity to town centre.Right on water front. Breakfast was poor
The staff was very accomodating, helpful.Location was convenient to town. Nice swimming.
The breakfast was quite poor, With so much fresh fruit on offer on the Island surely you could offer guest more variety and the coffee was dire.
Very good location ,very good service.
Beautiful, restored mansion with just a few rooms/suites and a lovely balcony looking over the town toward the sea and mountains. Everything is tastefully decorated, with nineteenth-century antiques throughout the public spaces.
Beautifully redecorated 'mansion'. An authentic feel that made us feel a part of the island for the time we were there. No
It's one of the cutest hotels on the island and has a decent breakfast. It is just steps from the harbor, so you do NOT need to get a donkey. If you get room 303, you'll have a balcony with a view. The bathroom in Room 303 is very small and dated. It could use renovation. Everything else was great.
Exceeelnt hotel in jusat the right location Possbilly a little expensive for the time of year
Nice hotel, friendly staff and good room cleaning. A little too expensive compared to what you got for the money. Small balcony. Not sure if it should have it's four stars, but definitely three.
No matter what I asked I either was answered right away or someone who could provide an answer would be asked. Always greeted enthusiastically. The bed in the room was excellent and had excellent appointments.
Beautiful building with a nice courtyard. Great location, quiet, clean and close to the bustling Hydra harbour. Rather spartan, poor breakfast.
Beautiful old grand residence. Spotless. Competent and efficient front desk. Nice big rooms with very high classic- style ceilings. Right in the centre and 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal and dozens of restaurants.Perfect location Everything was just fine. The ideal location and facility
The location 150 m from the port, the building itsself (old captain house) , the history of the building and the forthcoming people serving
A nice charming hotel situated in a quite part of the town of Hydra. It is in a 100 metres walking distance from the old port of Hydra. An old mansion renovated with its tranditional style well preserved. Most importantly, to reach there, there are no steps to climb. I strongly recommend this hotel. Rooms' interior is not as charming as the rest of the common areas of the building. Yet they are quiet and clean.
Great interior design, central location, always clean room They should have better breakfast buffet ( it was really poor) and they should consider renovating the bathroom ( roasted tabs and metal parts) as well as buying new towels ( they were clean but extremely hard)
There was a nice buffet breakfast that could be eaten in their lovely courtyard.
Good situated hotel with charming common areas and beautiful yard. Our room was large and clean, but quite dark and old-fashioned. The breakfast was quite poor.
The hotel has a beautiful courtyard in the front where we had breakfast every morning. The room was standard but clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the location is unbeatable!
The courtyard was very charming as were the common areas. The staff was very friendly. The view from my room was beautiful and at times lively (but the shutters were effective in blocking the noise when I wanted to sleep). There was no overhead shower mount -- it's kind of hard to take a shower with only one hand free since you're holding the sprayer.
Loved the location, not right on the busy port, but not too far away from the center of town. Also loved the building, an old Hydriot mansion, and its front garden. Finally, I found the staff extremely helpful, friendly, and good-spirited. I think that the breakfast served could do with an update, even within a tight budget. Also the cleanliness, could do with a little more attention to detail. But then again, I am a very-detailed oriented person, so I guess I can see a lot of things as a housewife, that other people cannot.
Fabulous location--1 minute walk from the main port/restaurants/shopping in Hydra. Friendly, helpful staff.
Nice clean, comfortable room in a great location.
Great location and very helpfull owner with precious advice on anything. He speaks english and spanish fluently. Loved the free computer use in the lobby besides the free wifi all over the hotel. No need to carry a laptop. Extremelly clean.
The standard of cleanliness of the hotel was spotless. The owner was amazing...very friendly and helpful.
The staff were very helpful, the antique furniture really beautiful, we particularly enjoyed the garden with lemon trees and the fresh lemonade on offer.
The Orloff hotel lived up to its marketing blurb. It is in a beautifully renovated old building close to the harbor which is the centre of everything. Rooms are spacious and well appointed with generous clean bathrooms. Good fast free internet. I was well satisfied and would liked to have stayed longer.
The hotel, tailored for real human needs. Spacious, natural, relaxed... ...no
Very nice room view, huge underground car parking, great swimming pool. Room service and/or food/snacks availability should be extended to cover afternoon hours as well.
Good breakfast, nice view from the room(i recommend 4th or 5th floor), nice swimming pool area, kind hotel receptionists. But i would rather say it`s 3, not 4 star hotel For eight hours we were waiting for cold water in the bathroom cause it was just hot!!!Finally they said they`d fixed it but during shower after some minutes it turned into extremely hot. At the end they changed the room. Unfortunately the new one was soaked with cigarette smoke what for my pregnant wife was difficult to accept.it`s not worth 4 stars!
Plenty of space to relax. Convenient to sea and within walking distance of the Port.
Clean and beautiful hotel, friendly staff, nice food, excellent all round.Highly recommended ! Parking during the weekend.
The hotel is on a beautiful location, and the interior is very luxurious. (we stayed in a deluxe room) The staff is helpful and very friendly. The Taverne serves great food during lunch, and is good value for money, and the rooftop lounge area offers stunning views. I am already planning my next visit there, and will recommend the hotel to everyone I know. Although the bathroom was beautifully designed, it was somewhat difficult to take a shower without getting the entire bathroom wet. This was only a minor inconvenience, and the room was cleaned twice a day.
Great spot, incredible view! Even though the bathroom was a ltlle behind the incredible lobby and terrasse all in all it is a great place to stay. And the staff was amazing - so friendly and helpful.
They offer an excellent view. All rooms have sea view and are a few meters from it. Restaurant is very good. Be aware the hotel is split in two buildings. The new and the old building. The old building, the one we stayed is totally unacceptable for the price. The beds are old and not comfortable and water runs from the shower to the room. The new building should be better, but we did not see any rooms there. Also double beds were not available and single beds cannot be merged.
Excellent seaside view. And nice pool. Wasn't crowded when we there
Beautiful location. Sun deck. The service in almost all areas was very slow and bordering on rude. Initially staff was very unfriendly and we sometimes felt ignored. On the last 2 days of our stay the staff did warm up to us but they really should have been friendly from day one.
This recently renovated resort is ideal for families with young children. It has a private beach with a natural shade under the trees, beach bar and taverna where one can have a delicious meal right after swimming. At night, there is a roof garden chic restaurant with light live music (with greek and international songs). Accommodation prices are on the high end, though the cost for lunches and drinks is very reasonable. Cleaning service should be checked / monitored. Our bed linen was not changed, which is not acceptable for a 4 star hotel.
outstanding service always with a smile the older part of the resort needs updating i n the bath dept
The room was charming as was the hostess. Our quaint balcony had a view of the harbor and we could watch the people starting their morning with the donkey caravans laiden with goods for places up the thousands of steps of this town. Wonderful.
View, balcony, location, tranquility The ventilation in the bathroom.
My friend and I loved staying at Hotel Mistral! The staff was beyond welcoming, the rooms were beautiful and don't get me started on the free breakfast! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who decides to stay a night in Hydra.
Wonderful place and breakfast, clean rooms No
Great location, exceptionally clean & comfortable with really friendly and helpful staff. As their are no cars & the hotel is up a hill on a cobbled street, it would not be suitable for the severly diabled or people with health issues.
Mistral Hotel was a pleasant surprise. We went with my husband for a quiet weekend and found much more. With excellent, friendly staff, a warm quaint hotel, excellent breakfast and peaceful. We would recommend it to anyone who wants to treat themselves to a taste of island life, with real value for money. The owners especially made us feel like we were old friends. Thank you for such a wonderful stay! Nothing, we wouldn't change a thing. Only, next time we'll stay much longer.
Great staff. Nice breakfast. Pretty hotel. Toilet and shower facilities were of a very poor standard.
The Owners Jenny and Theofilo we great hosts and the staff friendly and willing to accomodate our needs perfectly. Wonderful and delicious breakfast included in the room rate. Best brewed coffee in Greece. As you know many places make terrible American - French style coffee, but nat at the Mistral. Location of hotel is central to the town of Hydra. n/a
Calm hotel in a beautiful setting. Fantastic breakfast. Very small bathroom for a "superior" room. High price in comparison with the standing of the hotel.
Pleasantly furnished throughout. Good breakfast. Friendly but not over-familiar staff.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was great. Mattresses in all the hotels we stayed in were very hard. We are accustom to a softer mattress.
Warm hospitality, good location, calm, home made huge breakfasts, a very friendly and helpful owner, very nice staff, very clean. do not hesitate to spend your vacation in Hydra there.
Really quiet stay in a very nice superior room. Excellent breakfast (close to best I have had in a hotel of any size or class), in a lovely peaceful courtyard. Friendly family owners/staff. Price - 150 euro per night in Sepember - may have been a little steep during these times.
Peaceful. Nice roof terrace. Easy walk from harbour Bed so hard my back ached!
Very clean and great location Didn't get told when and where breakfast was
well situated in a very attractive town. Quiet yet very close to centre. Nice outside area to read, have drinks. Good breakfast. room a bit small. Rather overpriced considering the facilities - although this tends to be true of Greek hotels in many locations in our experience.
Close promixity to water/harbour.Good location slightly expensive and Credit Card accepted, allegedly because the machine as not working, though suspect just prefered cash.
I could not pay with my credit card, had to withdraw cash and return to the hotel again.
The staff is great, but that's the only good thing about this hotel We had a room without a window!!! This is totally unexeptable. The room look like a prison cell. avoid this hotel. 100 eur for a room without a window?!
The hotel was very clean and very convenient as it was near the port, the shops/restaurants and the seaside. Also, in spite of being near bars and restaurants, it was very quiet. Quite good breakfast. Breakfast was always the same. The staff, though efficient and polite, strictly anwered my questions with a "yes" or a "no" without barely adding anything more. Didn't explain better how things worked in Hydra nor suggested restaurants or things to see. They didn't look like Greeks in this respect! Perhaps it was a language problem, things got better towards the end of the holiday.
The location was very good in the center. The room was clean and comfort and was very value for money. But it was bad that we couldnt use cretitcard to pay for the room.
Simple and quiet The staff spoke no English. No sattelite T V I was surprised that they did not accept credit cards
Very pleasant, comfortable rooms, spotlessly clean and a pretty little terrace area to sit on. It did not accept credit cards
