THEY DID NOT HAVE MY RESERVATION AND THE FRONT DESK WOMAN WAS VERY RUDE AND HAD TO PAY AGAIN FOR THE ROOM. DID NOT HONOR MY DEAL WILL NOT GO BACK....
My last stay at this hotel was a great experience, hotel staff was very courteous and the restaurants offer great Mexican and interbnational food choices.
The hotel is in a good location and is attractive and clean. Reception staff is friendly and attentive. However, the last day there they forgot to replace out towels, and after bathing realized we had nothing to dry off with. We called down and explained the situation and that it was urgent since we had to catch a plane, and it took them 15 minutes to bring towels, and then they brought the floor mats and not towels. The manager was very apologetic and said he would personally make amends the next time we visit. Also, my first night there no one in the hotel could change a 20 dollar bill for me so I could make a small purchase at the convenience store next door.
This isn't a bad hotel by Tijuana standards. The restaurants are nice and rarely crowded. The rooms are mostly standard and modern with big screen TVs. The beds are very nice. I have stayed here many times over the past 5 years and it has always been a nice alternative to the Marriott. The problem with this hotel is low occupancy and a decision by management to EXTRACT as much cash as possible from guests. There is even a charge for in-room coffee now. Check in and check out are fine by TJ standards but annoying if you expect 1st world service. Their frequent guest program is worthless. After almost a dozen stays I got no recognition whatsoever...but loads of excuses. Lately the hotel is cutting corners and downgrading basic services. For the money you can get a decent room but keep our expectations low and watch your wallet. They are great at nickle and dime you till your head explodes. In fairness, Tijuana is mired in financial depression and the shakedown experience here is not unique these days.
I stayed at this Hotel for 3 nights and enjoyed everything with the exception of spoty wireless internet access. The room had an ironing board but no iron, however the Cleaning person quickly gave me one. I felt very safe as an American there and check in was quick and painless.
The front desk were very friendly, room service was quick. We recomend this hotel because is secure, quiet, very good service excellent buffet. We definetely would go back again. This is our 4th time. If you want good service, clean rooms, excellent food. good enteartainment go to Camino Real Hotel.
I live in Mexico and had a previous experience in Camino Real Saltillo, which was excellent, so we had some expectations. On the first room they assigned us, the hair dryer did not work and the doors to the shower-tub were difficult to open, so they changed us to another room. In this one, the hair dryer did not work, and the sink was clogged, so they moved us to a third room. In this one we checked the dryer and it worked, which was important since we were to attend a wedding. Everything went smoothly up to the wedding night, in which, you guessed correctly, the hair dryer DID NOT WORK. The best explanation I got is that I seem to be a bit unlucky, as this has 'never happened before'. I then volunteered to check the dryer in each and every room, as it was clear to me maintenance staff if exists, doesn't do much.
very good hotel I ve stayed here many times good distance from everything nice restaurent and bars inside ! I plan to stay in every camino real hotel in every state of mexico that I will be traveling the staff is very friendly and speaks good english
Hotel did nt have myreservation. I carried my own bags and opened the room myself. Called three times to get refrigerator unlocked. Had to call for housekeeping at 4pm.
we were from San Diego to celebrate my nieces Quinceaner. My sister made reservations a ionweek before the event , but when she arrived at the hotel two man and a women very rudely respond to her that there we no reservation my sister even show a card that a lady in administration had made to my sister writting the reservations for the three rooms, putting that after 9:00 a.m wil be available the name of the lady was Laura, well even though she had that information they said she had no reservation, so they made her wait for two hours ,but while she was waiting a lot people come in specialy grincos and philipinos and they got a room as soon as they get to the from desk, so angrily for the wait she ask the two man and the lady from the from desk whats going on they told my sister that El Camino Real was not the kind of stablishment were you could make scandals, later on my brother in law arrived speaking english and they gave him a room immidiatley.
I stayed once before and it was just like another hotel to stay and go to work but last time it looked like they are really getting better new carpets, beds were comfortable, and the room look different than last time, plus there was a very polite girl in the front desk...
I was there for a convention, and even when the convention facilities are great the hotel is overpriced for the lousy check-in and check-out procedures. My room (1110) reeked of cigar, this is my fault, I did not request a non smoking room cause I assumed the rooms were non smoking. The cleaning staff is kind and courteous, but even if they try to leave everything spic and span, they miss important stuff like the obvious seminal fluid stains on the purple back wall where the headboard is fixed. I noticed also that the back drapes have holes in them that shine trough during daytime, and during the convention I noticed all their public washrooms have lavatory faucets that leak. This is supposed to be one of Mexicos big, elegant and pricey hotel chains, but in my opinion, skip it. During the convention a woman´s purse was stolen in the buffet area, and no assistant was given to her but to tell others to guard their purses.
this Hotel is very nice and great Location but for the life of me I cannot understand why the Beds are so hard. They are literally like sleeping on a Concrete Floor. Other than this issue (for me big issue) this is a great hotel
The room had spider webs and the towells wre as old as my grandmother. The bads were to hard and the pillows were flat.
