The hotel is old but it’s clean and big enough. I am travelling with my family so we booked a triple room with 2 single bed and one extra bed. The room is actually big and it still has pretty much room after we open all our suitcases. The hotel uses central air-conditioning which only produces cool and dry wind but they do have a humidifier in the room so you are not feeling too dry. For the location, it is right next to Nippori (KEISEI Skyliner) station, which is only 39 from Narita International Airport and around 15 minutes from Tokyo city centre if you take the JR Yamanote line. Tokyo city centre, such as Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Akihabara, is a scene of hustle and bustle. There are markets and shopping centres opening till late at night, and large-scale events all year round. This is pretty good during the daytime and is perfect for night owls. But to be honest, I prefer to have a good sleep at night away from the shining light boxes! Nippori, on the contrary, is mainly a residential area, where you can see the routine of Japanese. The area is really peace and quiet, especially in early morning, at midday and after dinner. The busiest time of the day would be around 8-9am and 6-9pm when people go to and back from work/school. When you walk several minutes away from the Nippori Railway Station, the price-performance ratio is pretty high for both restaurants and shops. If you are a meat lover like me, hurrays, you can just find streets full of skewered food, Teppanyaki, etc. After days of having barbecued meats and feeling sick of it, that’s okay. You can also find some small restaurants with nice Kabayaki Unagi don, sushi; Izakaya (restaurant with sake) and even restaurant cheap & simple Teishoku. The counter side is no English/Chinese menu and some of the menus are even hand-written that you can scan it with translate apps.
It’s generally good for me. But it’s more like a business hotel and may be not good enough for tourists who want to have extra service such as spa, gym, swimming pools.
Very helpful staff with good English
Hotel is pretty worn out
Spacey, price was OK.
The bathroom floor and hall carpets were dirty. The air conditioning was a little noisy and no thermostat was provided in the room.
A truely excellent hotel to stay in anytime you are in Tokyo. It is the easiest hotel to arrive at straight off an international flight. The ease of Nippori Station to the hotel, with luggage, makes the travel so much better.
The rooms are excellent and comfortable. The restaurant buffet, for breakfast, lunch and dinner is excellent. There is plenty for all dietary requirements, especially vegetarians.
Location was great, close to the train stations.
The WiFi was terrible and we couldn’t turn up the air conditioning.
