What a charming place. Lots of history the place speaks for itself. You may argue its not the modern sleek lined top notch place but it just oozes style you forgive some of the old quirks. Nice bar / restaurant. Location overlooking the English beach/bay and choice of bars/restaurants just footsteps away. Bus #23 or #5 to get downtown makes it an ideal location away from the main city areas.
we were unlucky with a smoke alarm that woke us, and a restaurant booking, admittedly not guaranteed a place by the window but a half full restaurant and they didn't reserve for us, a pity.
Sense of hurryness
Great location. Helpful staff and the hotel has a lot of character and history
As an old building the bathroom was small and dated. Wifi patchy
Location near the beach, food and Stanley Park were a nice bonus. Lovely historic hotel.
An extra outlet or two in the room, would have been handy. Not an issue though.
Location at English Bay and Stanley Park was convenient. Local transportation was readily available. Hotel had onsite parking.. Nice restaurant and bar.
Older hotel could use some upgrade to the room we were given. No AC so was a bit of outside noise at night with window open !
The Sylvia Hotel is a designated heritage building that has a great location. It is only a few minutes from the downtown area, and near Stanley Park. The hotel was originally built in 1912, and it can work well for business travelers, as well as those who are traveling for vacation.
