Example, flashing green light at an intersection in Vancouver does not mean advance green - advance left turn. It means it is a pedestrian controlled intersection. The staff seemed to be doing their best in a difficult situation handling a lot of customers. We had a reservation to pick up a car. There were other patient people waiting. It seemed chaotic, like there should have been numbers given to us to give us a clue. We waited for our turn. I paid an upgrade to drive a Volkswagen Jetta. They said a Toyota Corolla was in the same class and that’s what they had. I see now that I paid a lot for the “convenience” of picking the car up in town in addition to Kayak’s fee. That was my mistake.

All was good. Was served quickly. The car they gave me was pretty good. The only reason I would give 4 star is because they didn't give me a car with a full tank. I don't like getting a half tank car, and then having to try and fill it to that level. I ended up returning full, so hopefully the next guests keep it at that.

We were pleased with the price and the vehicle was clean. Drop off was a breeze. But we did not realize that the car would have to be picked up far away from the airport. We waited more than half an hour for the shuttle because the number we called to request pick up had an automated service that failed to inform a live person that we were waiting. We had to call a second time to talk to someone. Also, the car had a lot of cosmetic damage to the outside and was not the kind of car we had reserved (Camry).

The service was lovely but there were two issues: I had to wait 45 minutes for the car to be ready. Not a big deal to me but may be to other customers. More significant: I paid for a mid-size SUV, such as a Toyota RAV4 or Mitsuibishi Outlander. The car that I was given was a Mitsuibuishi RVR, which is one class smaller and is considered a compact SUV. If this location only has RVRs, then it should be sold as a compact SUV, not as a mid-size SUV.

The customer service is not great. I asked to add the insurance a couple of time and they never got it done. I called to change the car since we didn't order a basic mini suv, but I needed to go to Richmond to make the change. The car was very dirty and damaged and the tires were not great. The value was good but I'm now dealing with the customer service again for the return. They asked me to pay for the damages when a claim was sent to my insurance company since they couldn't do it properly with their insurance the first time around.

Economy
I tried for 2 days to reserve on their site, it kept coming up with a message my bank was rejecting the transaction. Called my bank, they said no merchant was trying to debit my account. Called Europcar, guy said it's an issue with their site, and he couldn't help me. Awesome. Went with a different company.

The address given on the KAYAK receipt was incorrect. Luckily, our Uber driver phoned the agency and was able to locate the correct office in the Travelodge lobby.

I had to take my partner to the hospital for an emergency on the morning of pick-up, and was late to pick up my rental. When I arrived, I was told the car I had already paid upfront for, for the whole day, had been rented out to someone else, and that the customer service agent couldn't do anything to help as I had booked through a third party. Terrible customer service experience - I will not be using this company again, and would not recommend to anybody.

Economy
The car I was given was extremely loud, making me feel very unsafe driving it. Probably a first generation hybrid, hence the noise, but I question if fit to drive at all. I also asked for a receipt upon returning the car. It was denied saying the company does not allow that. It makes no sense. How can one prove they returned the car if they can't have a receipt ? First time I hear this. The two different clerks were pleasant otherwise.
