The architecture and the geographical situation There was only one member of staff to welcome us, a fairly distant receptionist. The room was fairly cold and there was no hot water in the evening of Friday 13 (!) February 2009 when we stayed. We were told that they had a problem with the boiler. We got some hot water eventually by 9am the next morning.
Spacious accommodation considering it was originally a monastery. Great location and views with some authentic touches. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Slight smell of drains in my room but Vejer de la Frontera is the real Spain!
It's a lovely old building full of character & is right in the center of Vejer. Our room was large with a good bathroom with bath.
Excellent view & location Lack of parking
Very clean. Staff very friendly. Restaurant available all evening and food v good standard. Location beautiful Can't think of any.
Not anything Dirty carpets and room as well as balcony.Breakfast poor and staff servicing it unfriendly;and cannot speak English.Hotel should not be on Booking.Com's list.....rather Hotel La Casa del Califa
The staff were very helpful and the location of the hotel is good, near the old town. Beds too hard!
The atmosphere was lovely and its situation in the middle of the town good. Parking was better than anticipated with parking permit for street parking. Food excellent We had no complaints
The complete lack of informalty and relaxation
Full of character the hotel has retained it's identity as a former convent . The room was no-frills but very clean with efficient (if noisy) airconditioning, although the bathroom shower was poor and it could do with updating. The receptionist was charming and very helpful with advice on which beaches to visit and places to eat in the evening. We found the location confusing as the narrow streets are all alike (rather like a maze) and we had difficulty finding our way around Vejer. It's not so easy with a rental car as you have to park about 6 minutes away down in the town car park. However, we had a very restful night's stay, although I wouldn't have liked to stay more than the one night.
Beautiful quiet hotel in Vejer.
We had a lovely stay .manager was very helpful .Hotel was very clean and although basic was more than enough for a enjoyable stay .We will be staying again in the future Parking could be problem as there is no parking near hotel but saying that its only a 5 min walk from the square up a slight gradiant so allow for light luggage if its an overnight stay. Otherwise no problem.
The location is perfect for walking around the lovely streets in the historical section of Vejer de la Frontera. The hotel is quaint and informal. We had beautiful views of the countryside. The TV remote did not work and staff do not stay there through the night so guests are on their own. Breakfast was meager--white package supermarket Supermarket bread we could toast that came directly from the freezer. Orange drink not juice. No fruit. Coffee. We visited in December and room in which we ate had no heat. There was a cold wave so it was quite cold, even in our room, which had a heater high up on the wall. Only the side of the room near the heat was warm. Prepare to eat breakfast elsewhere, but if you are here during Christmas, few restaurants are open.
I liked the fact that it was small and friendly, very clean, good facilities and a wonderful view from the roof. Off the beaten track suits me well.
Good location and very quiet. Very handy for all local restaurants. Owners very helpful. Reception smelled of cat urine and this carried over into the small dining area. Cat basket in evidence suggests the culprit
It was right in the historical section of town. Quaint old building with a fabulous view! Adventurous journey to find the hotel through cobble streets that are narrow and winding. We stumbled across the "town hall" where the locals were playing Flamenco which was fun. Located near the central plaza. Our room was extremely small and damp! Breakfast was not worth the time. Just ok if you are traveling alone and cheapest place in town.
It's a small nice hotel. We enjoyed our stay and definitively recommend it.
Fantastic view from bedroom window. Good location - handy for town centre Very poor breakfast and no fresh orange juice. The roof terrace could have been made more comfortable.
Quiet, relaxing, superb views, clean, super shower, wonderful decor and condition, helpful reception. Located right in middle of old quarter, excellent kitchen. Thought the pricing was on the high side when compared to other similar properties we used on our holiday. This was the most expensive.
The views from the balcony were great, the dinners were marvelous and the staff were all very pleasant. A small thing. There was no notice outside the hotel and we drove past without realising.
Hotel was very clean and very pretty I am sure that it would be lovely when the weather is good and I would return. Hopefully later this year. Room was extremely damp and we arrived late on our first night and could not get air con heating to work. Very lmited English spoke by staff on our arrival. Following Morning English owner came to ensure all was ok and was very helpful and room was much better when we returned that evening..We were dissapointed that restaurant was closed on Mon evening as there were no restaurants nearby.
Really good nice clean, Clean.YES Clean hotel. Staff great and helpful would always use if in the area again. Rooms on the small size, but perfectly adequete. Great shower.and a/C. They served a nice meal at short notice. Must have car and walls a bit thin, we were lucky few people were in the hotel.
The hotel is easy to be found, easy access from the road, nice place, pleasant staff, excellent parking. Welcome drink at the reception was a nice surprise. The room was a bit small for the price charged, the breakfast offer could be wider.
Modern clean room, very helpful and friendly staff, free WiFi, free glass of wine on arrival, good coffee shop in the foyer. This hotel is just off a reasonably main road but our room which was at the side was quiet. It is well situated for people with a car for several of the beach resorts on the Costa de la Luz. We had a problem with the WiFi being down when we were there and the staff couldn't have been more helpful - it was fixed within 15mins with a couple of phonecalls. I would stay here again.
Staff very nice, very helpful, new hotel not many if any other guests, lovely breakfast easy ample parking. Unfortunately the map on booking .com shows this hotel to be in Barbate which it is not and it says it is short walk to the Atlantic ocean but it is not. Its address is correct- Vejer-Barbate, Km.3,7 but the map and description of a short walk is not.
very stylish; indeed this hotel is new throughout. You need a car to get to it as public transport is limited. However there is ample free parking.
A very very nice welcome in the hotel with a glass of wine and plenty of good and recent information of the area and activities. The diner we enjoyed was absolutely surprisingly delicious. A surprise was also that the price included breakfast. Be aware of musquitos.
