This Chateau is just graceful, elegant, historical and at the same time, very high standard room condition to stay in. Room is spacious and decorated with traditional styled furniture, where as the common living room and dining room are also very historical (you will hear more about the Chateau's stories if joining the guided tour!) Our hosts Gael and Cecile are one of the most kind and welcoming hosts I have ever been with. They went beyond the extent to which guests will feel like home. Lovely breakfast, and very helpful advice on touring around nearby castles. A must-visits are Château de Chambord and Château de Cheverny, not far away from Château des Grotteaux. Be aware to plan your dinner if you arrive in the afternoon/evening, it might need a few minutes drive to the next town, but lots of choices of restaurants.
The location, cleaning and the atmosphere is grate, bed shits and bath essentials are perfect.
Need to add some option to make coffee in room.
The chateaux exceeded all our expectations, Gael & Cecile, were so welcoming, the room was beautiful and the breakfast was first class with nothing left out, we were told to treat the Chateaux as our home and we enjoyed every minute of our stay, Ask Gael for the tour you won't believe the history of this place, we would recommend all to visit and hopefully we will be back.
The château is splendid, surrounding by beautiful garden, the river and vine yard. The view is amazing,so calm and peaceful. Perfect place to escape from the city and enjoy a peaceful life. Breakfast is great, the homemade bakeries are so good. There are almost 20 jar of jam for you to choose (all homemade & amazing) The owners are so friendly and helpful. We really enjoy the château tour by the owner ,he told us many interesting story about the property which makes you appreciate your stay more and more. The room is nice, clean and comfortable. Cozy bed ,large bathroom. There's so many activities for you to enjoy such as tennis, bike ,boat ,etc. This place is one of my favourite ,I definitely be back again with my kids.
Breakfast, bedding, pillows
That the owner asked me to modify my vote and suggest that I was wrong to rate his property because an average score of 8.8 seemed "disappointing"
