Everything! Fantastic room, good service, great location. One of my favourite hotels I have ever stayed in. I didn't like the exorbitant charge for wireless internet.
Excellent location, polite, obliging staff, extremely comfortable/well designed rooms, very pleasant breakfast.
Excelent location, great rooms, recently renoved, nice furniture. All new. Near the sea Poor breakfast, very expansive wireless.
One of the best hotels we ever experienced.Great position, amaizing design, quiet and relaxing.
Room very comfortable, large and quiet beautifully designed splendid brekfast in such luxurious hotel internet in rooms should be free of charge
Very helpful staff. The weather.
Excellent location beside main square in Trieste. Very pleasant and helpful staff, especially on reception.
Beautiful hotel in a great location. Well-appointed with a wonderful balcony and view. The heating system was broken and the staff unable to fix it. It was freezing in both areas of the suite and extremely uncomfortable.
Beautiful rooms overlooking the water. Perfect way to relax in comfort for a few days of luxury. I can honestly say that I couldn't find any faults.
The bedroom was soundproof, and the bed was very comfortable. The buffet breakfast gave a varied choice for everyone.
It was a very stylish, well positioned hotel with good size rooms, especially the ones with balconies overlooking the sea. The hotel was a good mix of old and new with the recent renovation retaining the important elements of the old worlde hotel whilst introducing all modern amenities and comforts.
The rooms were very small
Very nice design hotel on the seaside. Excellent breakfast.
Wonderful location. Not a large hotel only 32 rooms - all of which had a view of the seaside. Modern hotel, open airy rooms with balcony. Viewed Mirimare Castle from our balcony. Plenty of restaurants near the hotel - public transport good - bus into Trieste runs every 12 minutes which was great as we did not have a car. Tickets available at hotel reception. Hotel backed onto reserve/parkland. Staff were friendly and helpful. We needed rest time after a hectic few weeks of touring Italy and that's exactly what we got. Highly recommended and would go back again.
Liked the design of the room with French bed & sea view balcony
location style comfort no-nonsense one small thing: beds rather hard (no box spring or any spring for that matter...)
friendly and helpfull staff No gym facilities and breakfast room/menu was weak.
The location was walking distance to the castle and you could take a bus downtown to avoid the driving hassle. Parking was free and view of the sea from our balcony/room was awesome.
Great value for money. Sea views. Helpful staff. Free parking. Bus 100yds away into Trieste (5kms) every 15 mins. No
Very close to the sea, 5 min from Trieste center. Well equipped hotel, good breakfasts.. Need to pay attention to find it especially during the night.
Sea view room. N/A
location, ambiance, service, friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness. no
Good service at breakfast with the coffee of your choice
in general friendly staff
Close to everything you need, hotel was excellent staff very freindly
IT's close to the center. The breakfast is "correct" for a 4 stars hotel. I went to this hotel because I had a very good experience with nh hotel close to bergamo airport, but this one is totally different, the heating was not working, and they dont have more cover neither pillows. Only one towel for two persons,to get hot water in the shower you had to wait minutes,by chance we find a parking place close to the hotel, but they dont have parking.
very friendly and helpfull staff, good location near the centre, nice decoration of the lobby and groundfloor the rooms are worn out and need serious refurbishment to match with the NH standards and with the refurbished ground floor.
very convenient location, comfortable room, helpful and friendly staff
the staff were vice nice and hepful the price was a little high
Car park garage left the car door open with keys and other personal item inside.
Great location and friendly staff; small but nicely fitted rooms, very good breakfast; great value for the money; will stay here again; cleanest sheets/towels of all time.
the hotel is close to city centre, to the bus and train station, good service and facilities the hotel is located close to main road and it was very noisy
clean and efficient ther was a slight smell of smoke in my room.
Nothings Staff and food
Nice room, ancient breakfast space No
I liked the room and the variety of food for breakfast. It was not a good idea to open a window because of traffic noise. This was not a real problem when the air conditioning was on.
Buffet breakfast - friendly staff - easy location - quiet room
The building, the decor & the room itself were all attractive. We even had a balcony overlooking an attractive, yet busy, square. It was handy to buses, trams & trains & the impressive central city piazza was within easy walking distance.
Excellent location near railway station and bus stops, nice service, nice atmosphere, clean room, silence.
The room was very good and so was the breakfast. Location is good. The is no proper parking arrangment
Staff was very kinde and profesinal.
Comfortable bed and good breakfast. I was upgraded to a loft suite at no charge becase I had booked a long stay. The loft suite was very nice. Loft rooms were accessed by narrow, winding steps. Difficult to bring up luggage as the elevator was up about 5 steps from the ground floor.
it's unique location, the friendly staff, the level of services, the super-design rooms and common areas. the pugging of the building, there were a lot of noises from the hotel corridors and the neighbouring streets
Urban Design has really urban design :) We didn't smoke, but in the last night there was a strong smell of smoking? maybe from neighbors.
central location, modern interior, good breakfast rather thin walls between rooms
Very clean hotel, our room was not the most quiet one (one of the window was near the conditioner engine). But overall for one night stay and for good value for money we consider this hotel as a good one. Its' locaion is fantastic - just near the main beatifull square.
Breakfast was really excellent and delicious! The minimalism was quite depressing. White walls, no pictures. Internet didn't work in room either
It is very central and modern
the hotel location, the services, the room
Location is perfect, the rooms are very comfortable and relatively big. The breakfast could be better!
An excellent location, ambience and services. Waiters at the Hary´s bar/restaurant does not carry away useless and used pottery when having your meal. The starter pottery was on the table when we were having our pudding (for dinner). You You ve to use the hotel driver for parking despite you does not trust enybody driving your car. The hotels usualy permit it.
Location, location, location Staff are polite but lacks the snappiness you need for a luxury hotel
The helpful and friendly hotel staff There was no drawer space in room 302
If you are staying in Trieste…this is the only place to stay. It’s a beautiful hotel in the famous Piazza Unita. The staff are extremely helpful, the pool/sauna/steam room and spa treatment is an added bonus. Breakfast has everything, including a glass of Prosecco if it takes your fancy. We will definitely stay there again sometime…
Excellent location; good breakfasts
Location, luxury, breakfast, restaurant........ Nothing!!!!
Breakfast was exelant, stuff very friendly and pleasant N/a
Wonderful location, cleanliness or room, helpful reception staff. Breakfast service could be improved but was fine.
The location, the atmosphere and the swimming pool. Breakfast staff could have been more friendly and helpful. They should have explained their system which differed to other hotels I have stayed in.
I liked the hotel room bed very confortable, very high standard of cleaniness. Good location and excellent staff who really look after your stay. the shower/bath was leaking water in the floor.
Beautiful design. Very nice spa area.
It was nicely decorated and after an AC in the room didn't work the staff swiftly arranged another room and allowed us to leave our luggage in the original room too. Generally service was very good. It was difficult to find due to no signage at street level. I felt it was a little out of the central historic area that it had been described as being in.
Interior design yes, should place more drinking water in the rooms
extremely clean, beautifuly designed modern interior with a well maintained mid 19th century building.Close to all amenieties
It is a beautiful city for walking, shopping, adventure and checking the restaurants had a great time .
Bit too far to walk home from a day out shopping or beside the Quay and rather far after dark to find Restaurants etc. Needed taxi when returning from Expeditions and for Evening jaunts to Restaurants.
Beautiful rooms, very elegant bathroom, breakfast good enough for italian standards, central location, nice staff The size of our room was surprisingly small, entrance of the hotel at night was locked and it was difficult to get in as there is no bell
The staff were very nice; the hotel is in a good location; the room is big, clean and quiet.
View of the sea. Wireless does not cover all rooms in a usable form.
Beautiful location with view over the Adriatic sea. Small room with unconfortable hard beds. The bathroom has an extremly small shower (68 x 68cm)
This hotel has an excellent quality/price ratio, in a marvellous place, and a very good restaurant.
nice accomodation, beautiful view
Well situated, with charming view from even an ordinary double room. The staff is helpful, the location is peaceful and the city centre is easily reachable.
Lovely setting and nice, large bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Internet unavailable during stay. Shuttle should be made available to/from train station nearby. Local maps needed.
The room and locality were good. But nothing out of the ordinary for the price. I was actually expecting something rather more luxurious or flamboyant for the price. Given its star rating I was surprised to find no internet, no obvious condusive lounge or public social space - did I miss it somewhere - and no included breakfast (which I knew when I booked). I was told where there was internet in Trieste but could not find it. OK for business but lacked a bit for tourist.
Excellent location and service! No.
breakfastroom room had small window on a small courtyard and was therefore dark. I like rooms with a view.
Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, perfect location in the center of Trieste, decent breakfast buffet the free wireless internet connection was very slow
The location is right in the centre of Trieste! So basically you just walk out onto the high street of Trieste. The Wifi was not very stable. Breakfast could've had more choices
Friendly staff. Excellent location. Good breakfast included.
location no tea coffee facilities in room
Excellent location in center of town, but still quiet. Double paned windows block out virtually any street noise. Very courteous staff. Only that on booking.com it said that pets were free, then when they sent the confirmation email they said that pets were 10 euro. When I told them about booking.com info they apologized and did not charge me. Nevertheless kind of weird for such an expensive hotel.
Central location in Trieste Prepare the rooms for guests!! Too slow garage service for the price!! Arrogant check-in staff!! Latest checkout at 10 am???
The rooms lacked comfortable chairs
Great location close to the picturesque fishing town of Muggia and close to the border with Slovenia...great for day trips in the area; staff really helpful and pleasant, very lovely setting on the Portto San Rocco. Everything was great....no complaints at all.
Friendly staff, nice room, pool & breakfast.. Tricky access by car
We liked it so much we extended our visit 2 days longer. Great staff, great rooms, and a great location.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, with an excellent bed. The area of the hotel is quite nice and a family friendly with a kids pool made available (and which we used) that has a view to the ocean. Safe accessible parking is also available and breakfast was more than acceptable. Overall a good deal. Obviously, we would have liked an ocean view, but the hotel is nestled within a pleasant condo community next to the sea. But this is really a minor complaint, if one at all.
Almost in the centre of Muggia but still very relaxing area. The hotel is direct at a harbour for sailboats. no
Staff great - reception excellent. This hotel is on a marina and has no dining facilities or bar. Locked car park excellent. Good breakfast. Wifi charges expensive for this day and age.
Staff were very friendly, excellent hotel and rooms. Only about 1 km from the old town of Muggia. Lovely setting. It's part of a marina complex. On the night we were there, the restaurant was fully booked and the pizzaria was closed. Nobody had highlighted this risk to us, so in the pouring rain, we had to walk the 1 km back into town. Not a big dislike, just something you need to be aware of as a risk if you stay there.
location free rowboats first room was very small & closed in so we had to pay an additional 30 euros a night to get a better room
We didn't like anything there! This hotel is advertised as a 5-start hotel and it is definitely not. The staff was unfriendly and unhelpful. The breakfast is definitely not filling - who would want to eat only sweet bread in the morning? There was no variety - no eggs, no hams, no fresh fruits, etc. Oh, there was also a construction going on at the back of the hotel! So, you can probably imagine how difficult to get parking area there because the hotel did not reserve any street parking! We actually want our money back!
shopping, sideseeing, vo ac running, very loud location
friendly staff no broadband in rooms
Hopsitality was outstanding No
It is not fair to describe it as 5 mins from central Triest -more like 15mins on a good day by car. The pool had been closed for some time but was a major reason why we took the hotel. They should have told us before we arrived and the price reduced.
Nonce that the hotel doesn't have an own beach place and it can be called 5 star hotel. It is terrible to find a parking place around the hotel. The inner look of the hotel is terrible, without carpets on the floor, and chep cover paperwall on the doors.
Good sized room, very clean, good staff, and excellent location with ample secure parking.
The hotel wasn't as bad as the references said. We were lucky because we got one of the best rooms with the view to the sea and a balcony. The room was bug and nice, the equipment a little old though. Breakfast was way to simple for a 5* hotel, but still okay. We came by car so it was easy to get to the city. It took us maybe 5 minutes to drive to the downtown. Personnel didn't really speak English but still they were friendly with us.
The helpful staff.......very pleasant and informed Hotel in general was a "little tired" and could use some modernizing.
Nice terrace with sea view for having breakfast. Public parking available is an exageration, you can hardly find a place near the hotel, I had to go 400 m down the road and park in the public parking by the marina. Room was not so clean, bathroom particularly, lots of signs of previous inhabitants. Construction work going on in the yard, lots of noise! The hotel is not on the sea side of the road, so don't be fooled, the sea can be seen maybe from the last floor but that's it.
privacy, location in town, clearness and comfort of the apartment no
Clean, comfortable, new, all mod cons, good central location but quiet. Really good value for money...
central Place,House of Location Parkingplace.it is int he town, and the pick up of lagguage is a little bit difficult
The accomodation was very comfortable Not enough hot water, or toilet rolls!
cheep n verry comfortable. i recommend it.
in general it was very comfortable. excellent wifi connection Unfortunately there were no english speaking channels on the tv
Centrally located but still possible to park. A very nicely furnished appartment. No air conditioning but a ceiling fan. When in summer windows must be opened the appartment is quite noisy.
The appartment was spacious, well equipped, well designed, clean and conveniently placed in the city centre. No
Very nice location in the center of Trieste, big room, well equipped kitchen Rooms weren't cleaned even once during our stay; towels, bed sheets weren't changed - that surprised us; very hard to find parking on a street, had to use pay parking for 14 Euros per night
Attitude of some of reception staff Access to rooms from lift. Breakfast facilities
it was few minuts walk from heart of trieste, beside metro and bus station
Clean large rooms
we stayed in appartment across the road from the hotel. It was very clean. Room was cleaned every day. beds and pillows were a little hard
i liked that it was easy walk from train station, especially after our long travels.. Internet seemed complicated. It has been nice to stay at hotels with internet included.
ideal location near station and city centre clean comfortable rooms good breakfast helpful friendly staff the apartment was well equipped if you did not want to dine out,
the location was wonderful and the staff very nice.
very helpful reception staff not really; maybe an English speaking tv channel, usually CNN or BBC World is available in most bedroom tv channels but otherwise we found it a very pleasant hotel to stay at.
Near the station but not a horrible, overpriced 'near the station' hotel. Room and bathroom were nice. And Trieste is beautiful.
the position, is near to train station. dosen't have internet free.
Temperature in the room was exelent. Room and bed were clean. I think with little more effort breakfast could be better. Nothing salty. No ham, cheese etc.
Big rooms, nice bathroom, central to town. Parking could have been a problem but we got very lucky. breakfast was ok, but fairly expected for Italy.
Having BBC world. That was a pleasant surprise. Room comfortable No one could direct me to the Anglican Church on the Sunday
Cute old hotel, room very quiet, pretty large, the air conditioner worked well enough, it was close to the places we wanted to visit, and the valet parking was efficient (although not cheap), staff very friendly and helpful. 1. Listing said "mini bar". We wanted the refrigerator. The room we got didn't have one, so they switched us to one which did--but it had no window. We were under th roof with a small skylight for light. And the minibar refrig didn't work very well. 2. No fresh fruit at continental breakfast.
Been there before, I like the place, it is an old fashioned hotel, I feel at home there. The location near the railway station and only ten minutes walk from the center is ideal for me.
the room is big the breakfast is poor, the furniture of the rooms is cheap and unworthy for a 3 stars hotel, we had poor light in the room and in the morning everywhere was food smell and in the afternoon was cigarette smell (even if me and my boyfriend we do not smoke)
Great hotel at which I've stayed several times. Able to cope with me arriving at 01:00 in the morning. Friendly helpful staff.
Easily accessable & near the station Could Improve the Bar Service
Only here for one night but ideally located for the railway station with a short walk to the historic centre. A warm welcome, the grandeur may be slightly faded but the class was still evident.
Very cute room! Excellent location Nop
Excellent hotel and very pleasant and helpful staff Non tutto
We only stayed for 1 night, but staff where very helpful. Breakfast was great It was very hard to find with all the oneways, and the area where it is was a little run down. I didn't feel i would want to walk around in the evening. If I hadn't have booked I would not have stoped and book in, you would need to see the inside
good breakfast, free parking on the streets around the hotel, quiet room,
Excellent breakfast and service It coud have been cleaner and the price is a bit high for the characteristics of the hotel
The personnel has been very helpful, made us feel at home...and also the breakfast : delicious!
The decor and general feel of the hotel was excellent. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Only stayed one night prior to flying back to the UK, wish it could have been longer, Trieste is a great place for a long weekend. The breakfast was superb. The rooms all air-con and very clean, free access to the Internet. The location is not quite within easy walking distance of the town, down would be OK back up the hill is a little more demanding. It is however on a regular bus route, taxi about 10 euros pretty good if there are 4 of you.
We were impressed by the extremely friendly service of all the staff, the breakfast was excellent and the rooms well appointed.
The Hotel is very comfortable and well designed. Room is great, relaxing and quiet. Staff is friendly. If breakfast is globally good, at 10.30 on sunday it was disorganized : no table ready and no more bread, staff was stressed !
All of staffs are quite kind and try to assisst guest. The breakfast is fine and easy to park the car in front of the hotel. The hotel is located hill and difficult to access on food.
centreal position to main attractions, restaurants etc
Ideal city centre location, room overlooked an office across the very narrow street; some noise during night from outside. Very comfortable, clean and excellent staff. NB these comments cover two bookings as we had two rooms, one for our adult daughter and one for us. Would have helped if we could have told taxi driver to leave us at Urban, but we didn't know the hotels were linked. The coffee at breakfast was below par.
Quiet Room near shopping and attractions. Internet service in room. Helpful staff. Attractive room. Apparently the Hotel James Joyce was fill, so we were put in new Urban Hotel across the alley. Very new, very nice. Room very small.
i will never come back - not clean, very poor 3 star hotel everything
very central Hotel is really an annex to to the next door Urban hotel, it has no facilities of it's own. It is in a scruffy alley, one evening we were kept awake by local yobs with dogs in the alley.
Quiet, and car-free area that was also very central. Excellent care in the room itself. Large double bed. Room was dark, scarcely any daylight coming in. More facilities to hang or dry towels would be welcome. Breakfast was rather poor - especially tinned rather than fresh fruit in September in Italy ! And the coffee was also rather weak ! Hotel staff not on the site but over the street, and the experience was somewhat impersonal - though staff were always polite.
The location was very good. The staff were cold and distant. We felt like they had no interest in us. The James Joyce is the older sister of the ultra modern urban hotel next door. It has nobody on duty there and we felt like we were seated at the kids table. Nobody noticed us.
good staff, comfortable, centrally located, difficult to find, no view at all, small room
Central location - the main sights of Trieste were just a few steps away. The rooms were very comfortable, even though they were rather small, there was lots of convenient storage space. There was free internet available. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were dark (this is just a comment - not a negative), but this is unavoidable because the hotel is located on a little alleyway. So if you want a view from your window don't go here. It was also a bit difficult to find because we came from the wrong direction and didn't see the sign pointing up the alley.
nice reception at main hotel next door (seemed to be shared with this hotel) and helpful staff room a little bit small
