It felt safe, cozy and welcoming.
After 10pm around the rooms it was very noisy still. And woke my young boy up.
Very Friendly Staff.
Noise from children running around upstairs above cafe .
You just CANNOT beat the location. It’s gorgeous enough that I will always go back - even though the hostel has some cons.
There is no kitchen area in the ‘crows nest’ building. Even though there are 12 rooms up there. Only a fridge so you have to go downstairs to the very small cooking area in the main building. It was actually a bit stressy because it was so cramped - rather than make pals and chat while you’re cooking you just tried not to get in anyone’s way. way too small for the number of hostel guests. They are trying to do everything so by having a public cafe/bar (which is also part of the kitchen and dining area for hostel users) we often felt pushed out to day trippers. Nowhere near enough seating plus the food, drinks and snacks were a little expensive.
Excellent location. Nice and relaxed.
Wouldn't pay full price for a stay here, but good when on offer. We were lucky with the weather but if it was raining the walk from the car park to the yha, carrying all luggage, would be dreadful.
