Comfy beds and clean linens. Plenty of room for my mom and me to share for 2 nights while attending a family function. We were basically there for a place to sleep each night, so we didn't need lots of luxury. Grounds and building seemed in good condition. Didn't have time to use the pool but it looked inviting. Breakfast was passable....cold cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast, juice, make your own waffles. Room smelled musty as soon as we walked in and was almost not noticeable by the time we left 2 days later. Found a dead tick on the floor while looking for a dropped earring. Not a very friendly greeting by the receptionist when we came in the door to check in. Was asked in a somewhat grouchy tone if I had a reservation. Then she mentioned she'll have to check me in the "hard way" because I booked via the internet. I only took several minutes to hand me the room cards, but it just seemed like I was putting her out by wanting to check in while she was hanging the "no vacancy" signs on all the doors. Breakfast area almost not large enough for number of guests using, and I came around an hour before it was to end.
Room was good, I liked having the fridge in the room, that helped alot! It was pretty clean , no complaints there ! The owner was super nice and friendly! ... The only thing I didn't like was not having access to coffee ! It said there was a continental breakfast, but my hubby went down and only found an empty coffee pot and no one or no access to make more !
The staff at the hotel. They are both very hard working, and the lady at the front desk is very nice and easy going. For an old hotel, it is kept very clean, which was a nice surprise. The ice machine did not work, and the laundry room needed cleaned.
Yes, the bed was very uncomfortable. The room smelled like mold and there was a dead roach at the foot of the bed
