Location is good, breakfast is ok too. Pleasant(ish) staff.
Rooms are loud - either from ventilation, 220v to 12v halogen converters, internal sounds (poor isolation) or street (windows are not really good). Pretty much all is furnished to meet basic levels for the given star rating - medium to cheap. I guess it's one of those hotels in old city centers whose management doesn't count on people returning - like overpriced mediocre restaurants at pretty much similar locations. Unfortunately - I do return to Wroclaw every few weeks, and this is my last stay here. Charging 20 euro for breakfast is also highly excessive because that is the price of a solid a la carte lunch at any restaurant on Rynek. If any other hotel with 5* in the Western Europe would go by that standard, a breakfast in Paris 5* hotel would cost 50 euro - and I know for a fact that it's not the case (it's actually 15-20). Usually I take hotel breakfast on the West, because going out is paying more and eating pastries ("Promotion!! An old croissant and a bad coffee for only 15 euro"). Here - for 20 euro you can go to ANY super fancy/hipster place around hotel and you wouldn't be able to spend those 20 euro for breakfast a la carte even if you tried. Literally - I tried! Another thing are the carpets - I guess if they didn't have those to absorb some sounds - nobody would ever fall asleep there. So fine - keep them. But they could be changed in some rooms (washing does not help any more dear management, don't whip your cleaning ladies, rather give up some of your bonuses). I changed rooms on the first night (I measured average 47dB buzzing in the first room during night coming from ventilation (always on - not possible to take it down even with card out)) - and it was not smelly. The second room smelled - it took some time to get used to. But at leasts I could sleep.
Ideal location in Old Town, loads of bars, cafes and restaurants. Hotel was lovely, staff excellent, very helpful and polite. Breakfast was amazing, lots of fresh choices every day, eggs cooked to order too. Rooms wer spacious, beds were amazingly comfy Would stay here again in a heartbeat, we were so sad to leave
