Great location at the top of town but a short walk to the centre. Very convenient for visiting Exmoor. The furniture and fittings were wonderful. Excellent breakfast. No soap or shampoo for the shower (just hand soap) and a very tiny sink in our room! Also nowehere to hang clothes - no wardrobe or even a single clothes hanger! (Not a problem for one night). Not really a hotel but a very nice B&B establishment.
Sheer class of the decor and fiitings coupled with a very professional service. Nothing
Everything we could wish for was available. Minor points only E.G. no lock on bathroom door.
Good fresh cooked breakfast, plenty of tea etc in room. Good gardens En suite too small - basin was too small to wash in and could not fill kettle under tap. No screen on shower, no shower gel provided only hand wash.No evening meals provided. It is Bed and Breakfast - not hotel. Limited parking 5 spaces available for 12 rooms further 3 spaces were inaccessible.
The room was clean and well serviced and had excellent views. The evening meals (provided by a separate company) were excellent. The proprietor was rather overbearing. From the dining room we could hear him shouting at staff, some of whom seemed terrified.
Very friendly staff None
Lovely position in the town with stunning views, convenient for activities.Nice breakfast It was very difficult to contact anyone to even let us into the building even though we were arriving at a civilised time; when they did they were very apologetic.
Vverything was first class None
Good atmosphere as soon as we walked through the door on arriving No bad points whatsoever
Very pleasant staff, good food and welcoming surroundings. Good views. Could not get my room heater to work; as a result I was rather cold during the evening.
We only stayed overnight, but enjoyed the warm, relaxed atmosphere, and superb food at dinner and breakfast.
Very friendly & helpful staff, a comfortable room and very nice bar, lounge area and garden. In a beautiful historic village & well located for exploring Exmoor. None
Hotel in ideal location for exploring Exmoor. Plenty to do in Dunster itself. Food and service were very good Lack of car parking meant leaving our car on a public carpark 400 metres away
Great room, friendly staff, very clean and generally great atmosphere. Good food in resturant Breakfast on first morning limited as only guests and was not offered full breakfast menu however next morning was great as other guests staying
lovely atmosphere ....... absolutely spotless bathroom and bedroom all beautifully decorated.....fabulous garden with a view of the castle..like no other view.......comprehensive menu with all food fresh and delicious....helpful and pleasant staff..friendly but not too familiar....always ready to help.... fabulous lounge with wood burning stove....so comfortable and cosy....really loved our stay....we combined it with a buying trip and want to return very soon....thank you everyone....
enjoyed staying in a really old and historic building with lots of atmosphere, somewhere a bit different. it was really relaxing . The food was really good. the parking was quite difficult during peak Summer season and the service was not very good at all which was a shame because the food when it eventually arrived was delicious. we found it incredulous that when asked for at breakfast there was no brown sauce available!
