Pros: Friendly staff, great decor, centrally located, historic
Cons: The price is kind of outrageous, especially for the area. Chico is a small, simple little town. We stayed here for our wedding night and then went to Monterey for our honeymoon. We paid less for a spa and suite with equally friendly staff, pet friendly and a badass restaurant in Monterey. Kind of odd.
Enjoy your visit to Chico with a stay at Hotel Diamond Chico. You can grab a bite to eat at the restaurant or wind down at the end of the day with a drink from the bar/lounge. All rooms offer flat-screen TVs, DVD players, and refrigerators.
Pros: Very comfortable for my husband, self and 2 cats at night, then filled with a dozen family members during the day for Christmas festivities. Was crowded but worked out very well. I was allowed to borrow 6 chairs from the conference room and we made it work. Lots of electrical outlets for our crockpots and buffet warmers, kitchen well stocked with utensils. All in all, I'd recommend this hotel and will stay there again myself!
Cons: The hotel was undergoing a remodel, our room looked very nice, but there was a slight smell of paint coming through the vents. Not bad considering they can't close entirely while remodeling and we really needed a hotel with a kitchen! All of the staff were wonderful except the woman who checked us in, a manager I think. Not a smile or extra word of welcome there...

Pros: Love the free drinks and breadfast.
Cons: Hotel was in remodeling and didn't state on the site when we booked. loud noises during staying. I rated this hotel 3 star.

Pros: The hotel is very clean. The rooms are up to date and are furnished tastefully. The beds were comfortable, not too soft and not too hard. The included hot breakfast was excellent. And the staff did such a nice job of being helpful and friendly. This is an extremely well-run hotel.
Cons: The only things I didn't like was, (1) that the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan, and (2) it was cold at the seating area / lobby at the entrance of their conference center. The heating doesn't seem to reach this entryway.
Pros: Staff was great. Hotel bar is fantastic with live music. Clean and comfortable
Pros: The staff, especially the folks that work in the bar at night. They are awesome! Great service! The Mai Tais were unbelievable! I thought I was at Trader Vics for a minute. Great people! Young Indian guy who's been there a while, he's really good. The gal, Lecinda, or Letitia, or something similar was super nice! Thanks for making my stay so enjoyable. I will be back.
Cons: The heat. It gets a little hot in Chico in the summer. But I loved the Ramada!
Pros: We liked the refrigerator and microwave in the room. We brought dinner in and it made it easier to keep things cold and warm them up when we wanted them. It was quiet as we were by the elevator but didn't hear it because we had the fan on.
Cons: It didn't feel right. We pulled into the parking lot with Super 8 and Motel 6 in the same lot. Those are hotels I avoid and wasn't thrilled knowing this was among them. The pillows were very uncomfortable. One was stiff and the other was lumpy and not filled.
Pros: Helpful at the desk and friendly
Cons: Handicap not really handicap. Tub to small and chair did not fit tub.
Pros: Common spaces were very well kept and inviting. Staff were kind and accommodating.
Cons: The room was not as clean as I would have hoped. It needed a deep cleaning.

Attractions are Oroville Dam, Honey Run Historic Covered Bridge, Bidwell Mansion and Silver Dollar Speedway. Pets are welcome for a nominal fee.
Pros: The location was convenient to where I was going. Decently clean. Fridge and microwave were nice.
Cons: The WiFi was not accessible it was so low. When I asked the front desk they referred me to an 800 number for tech support, after waiting over 20 minutes with no answer I gave up. We had four people in our room and there were 3 towels. Again I asked at the front desk, I was told housekeeping would bring one by...she brought two hand towels and two wash cloths. The pool is inthe corner of the parking lot and shady most of the day, was hoping for some sun. Sink water temp was uncontrolable, scalding or ice cold. Definitely not worth the price. Will not be staying here again.
Cons: Our air conditioner/heater did not have an adjuster. We had to have our window open during the day. Also the hair dryer did not work at all.
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Hot tub broken

Pros: moderate neighborhood, in the city, easy to get anything
Cons: We are not smokers and we had a baby with us, but you gave us a smoker room. In order to get a non smoker room; we had to spend another $40. So at the end we pay more than having a good deal from online booking. It was a bad deal
Pros: it's cheap
Cons: old & run down
Pros: Room had WiFi, good TV, comfortable beds and was clean.
Cons: Breakfast options were very basic (waffles, cereal, toast) and coffee was weak. Furniture in room was pretty worn with many scratches and chips.

Pros: Close to the freeway, was fairly clean. Hairs left in shower and on bathroom floor. Staff checked with us after we were settled to make sure everything thing was ok.
Cons: I forgot to show my AARP card and was advised that since they had already processed the payment there was nothing they could do, can't payments be credited and reran?
Pros: the staff clean room
Pros: The pricing was good. Do not change that.
Cons: No free Wi-Fi
We were visiting son over family weekend at Chico State University and traveling with our dog. The hotel was very basic, clean enough and was actually more comfortable than expected for star level. This hotel is good for traveling with pets when no VRBO are available and for short stays. The most useful thing is that you can leave your pet in the room to go out to dinner, etc. Most motels/hotels do not allow this which is why we usually stay at VRBO's. Motel 6 was a more economical choice by far and it provided for all of our basic needs.
Pros: Pet friendly
Cons: Small rooms, no iron, very basic.
Do not stay here
Cons: Failure to provide adequate service
The front desk advised that no visitors are allowed after 10PM and there are signs all over the parking lot warning you to lock your vehicle. The sign on the inside the door of your room warns to secure the latch while you are in the room. With the cast of characters lurking about the place you would be well advised to heed the warnings. I didn't have any safety/security problems during my stay but this place is about far down as I would push it to save money. Glad that my wife wasn't with me in this trip because she would have been very angry with me for booking it! It is cheap though and the bed was comfortable.
Pros: The rate was low and the bed was comfortable.
Cons: Hotel is pretty run down and the atmosphere there is pretty dodgy. The smell of cigarette smoke permeates even the non smoking rooms. The bedside light in my room did not work.
The hotel was nice for the price. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable enough. I had a microwave and refrigerator also. I was just there to sleep so I didn't use the pool or anything else that might have been offered. Nothing fancy but worked for my trip.
Pros: My room was clean and the staff was friendly.
Cons: The freeway is close so could get a bit noisy. Small towels.
Would stay there again
Pros: Ease of transactions. Bathrooms were nice.
Cons: People talking outside the room at all hours of the night.
Cons: Hair all over, scummy shower, no washcloths, funky stains on the chair. Didn't want to touch anything.
Would never go back.
Pros: It had a pool & frig.
Cons: Absolute WORST mattress We ever slept on :( Could feel the springs in our backs when laying on it. Used a exercise mat we had with us to cover the mattress. It was extra noisy with highway and people next door through the night,
I asked for a non smoking room and I got there and it reeked of marijuana, I have kids and asked them if I could get a different room and they said no, I explained to them about the smell and they said that they weren't going to give me a 'perfumed room'
Motel 6 Chico, CA is located off US Route 99 at Cohasset and Mangrove. We are within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Enjoy our outdoor pool. Relax with Wi-Fi in all modern rooms for a fee.
Pros: Was in Chico for sons graduation. Basically slept and showed, 6 hour stay. Friendly staff, overall clean would stay again for the same reason.
Pros: My friend and I stayed at this motel overnight after a concert. We arrived in the day time and the room didn't look too shabby at all. Good for the price.
There were older men sitting outside in the sun and kids riding their bikes around the parking lot, so I didn't get a bad vibe at all. And the location is great only 5 minutes from downtown.
The room didn't look dirty. Can't speak on the bed since e brought our own blankets and didn't sleep under the covers.
Cons: When checking in, the staff wasn't that friendly, but whatever we were only there for one night.
As far as amenities, the water was like warm and the fridge didn't work which we discovered the next morning when all of our food/drinks weren't cold.
Didn't feel too safe late at night for a couple young women. As we were getting out of a cab, some older man hopped in to ask if we had fun, and then disappeared. The taxi driver said he was a tweaker. Scared the crap out of us! Not too long later, someone was banging on our door at like 1am. When we responded through the door, it was a man yelling "You got a cup?!". Definitely made sure every lock was locked that night!
A great choice for a stay in Chico, Town House Motel Chico is just 4.5 mi (7.2 km) from the airport. Guests can take a dip in the seasonal outdoor pool, and freebies like WiFi and self parking are added perks. Rooms feature bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves.
Pros: Clean with all the amenities expected at this price. Quiet location, GREAT for pets (small field in back for dogs). I have stayed at many of the chain and local motels in Chico over the years and there is no reason this place should be rated lower than any chain (for sure). This is my favorite place to stay (under $100/night) in Chico.
Cons: There is always some small issue with the room: the AC controls are funky, the TV picture is not perfect, etc. But to be fair I have never felt anything so bad that I complained about it. Room 39 internet is intermittent, but has been excellent in all the other rooms I've stayed in there. If internet is important to you, be sure to check it when you get your room and before you move your stuff in...
Cons: Seemed like they have long term tenants who were rather seedy. I made sure my door was locked at night and took my valuables with me each day. Didn't feel very safe.
Situated on the Esplanade in northern Chico, Safari inn is a gorgeous hotel with beautiful oak trees and flowers. The hotel offers single and two bed rooms available with cable tv, iron and in room coffee, and free wireless internet, also; the deluxe rooms have kitchenettes with microwaves and refrigerators. The hotel has a beautiful outdoor pool and free parking.
Pros: noting but the location was ok but lot of homeless peoples
the hotel need a bad made over
Cons: the staff was very unfiendley and new noting about the
town i ASK THE CLARK WERE BANK OF AMERICAN
WAS HE DID NOT NOW IT WAS TWO BLOCK AWAY ON
THE SAME STREET
Pros: The neighborhood it was located was very nice and quiet compared to some hotels next to the freeway. The people who worked there were nice and the room seemed to be a good size, not too small.
Pros: The location is great, located very close to the downtown.
Cons: I reserved and paid for a room with a king sized bed but was told Kayak/hotels.com overbooked the reservation and therefore, since I had already paid for the reservation, I must take what they have available. Unfortunately this meant staying in a room with a double sized bed and a bathroom with a shower/bathtub that did not work. For the money paid for a room with a double sized bed, I could have stayed elsewhere of higher quality. This was a horrible experience. I would advise people not to stay at this motel because it is a racket that over promises (or over books) and price gouges their customers through strongarm tactics.
Pros: I loved the jacuzzi tub and location in downtown. It was also across the street from an awesome beer bar and restaurants are within walking distance.
Cons: Our hotel room was not clean upon arrival, very little toiletries and towels were provided. Not bad if you aren't used to staying at places like Hyatt. (Which I do for business)

Cons: Two staff members were unpleasant, the room was tiny and disgusting. The carpets were filthy, there were bugs, the sheets were not clean and there was grit or crumbs in the bed. Paint was peeling off the walls, the TV barely worked and did not have the channels described, the WiFi did not work, the shower curtain was stained and moldy, the window curtain was covered in holes that let hundreds of bright light beams stream into the room first thing in the morning, the toilet did not flush all the way leaving feces floating in the bowl, the towels were extremely thin, scratch and somewhat stained, there was no bathmat, the freezer was almost a solid block of ice and the air conditioner smelled of mildew. It was horrible.
Pros: Maybe the location.
Cons: The people were rude and not at all helpful: "You don't need to know our names, whoever is at this front desk will help you".
The room: no bathroom soap (of course this was probably on purpose because the shower had no soap dish, tray, ledge or anything else: had to use the floor), dirty, and nothing worked well.
Pros: The bed was comfortable, everything seemed exactly what was expected of a 2/5 rated place
Cons: I didn't like that one of the desk guys working there mis used my information and CALLED my personal cell phone to ask if I wanted to meet up and wanted to talk to me when I was alone. He called multiple times and harassed me in the same conduct. A police report is being made, definite creep.
Cons: Fridge didn't work and no chain type lock for the door
Pros: I enjoyed the transients walking through the parking lot at midnight. Along with the scary movie atmosphere of the hotel. Oh, and the smell. I would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car.
Cons: About $65 over priced. You can't fit in the shower if unless you're a contortionist. Seriously, the worst place I've ever stayed in my life. Spend the money, stay at Oxford.
Situated in Chico, this hotel is within 3 mi (5 km) of Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park, California State University-Chico, and National Yo-Yo Museum. Butte College and New Clairvaux Vineyard are also within 20 mi (32 km).
Cons: The hotel was dirty, with black mold in the bathroom, repaired sheet rock that had no paint in 6 different locations, no breakfast (even though they claim they do) and it was ridiculously overpriced for graduation weekend at Chico State for this.
Pros: Nothing at all. Place is a joke
Cons: Everything. The workers were rude and unresponsive. The rate was rediculous. We had black mold in our bathroom. There was literally holes in the walls and recently repaired sheetrock with no paint everywhere. The breakfast consisted of one choice which was prepackaged gross pastrys. The place is rediculous!!!
Cons: the bathroom had mold in the shower-the ceiling in the bath room was coming down - shower curtain was a joke over all the room was a total disappointment.
Cons: POOL WAS INOP
AC IN MY ROOM DIDN'T WOK
Pros: Location, A/C worked well, Comfie bed
Cons: Dirty carpet, roaches is room
Location close to downtown and a 24-hour diner
Cons: No lock on window
Smelled like smoke
Saw a bug
Loud guests in other rooms
Pros: Nothing at all. Bad choice. Go next door to America Best Value or Heritage Inn.
Cons: The AC unit was barely functioning and struggled to keep the room livable.
There were bugs in the bathroom and on the desk. It was horrible.
People were hanging outside their rooms and their cars boing loud music and yelling the entire time. The cars probably didn't even work because the hood of their cars were propped up the entire time.
They were more than likely selling drugs.
Horrible place to stay.
Pros: Location in downtown Chico.
Cons: The whole place. It's rundown, not in good repair, especially in the room (outside nothing to be proud of with it's peeling paint). The bed sloped to one side, the A/C unit was next to the bed making it noisy and irritating.
Cons: Horrible odors in room. Gross stains in carpet and bed. Could not stay the night and drive two hrs at 1 in the morning to get home instead.
Located near a train station, University Inn is a great choice for a stay in Chico. Guests can hang out at the outdoor pool or seasonal outdoor pool, and free perks include continental breakfast, WiFi, and self parking.
