Wonderful hotel. Staff is very welcoming, rooms were large and clean. The lobby is beautiful with fireplaces and seating areas. Great breakfast buffet! Can't say enough good about the Country Inn and Suites in Athens, GA!
Our family (two adults and two teenage boys) spent a night here while making a college visit to UGa. Our room had two queen beds and a sofa bed. It fit our needs perfectly. It looks fairly new so the property is in great shape. The breakfast was plentiful and offered a variety of choices (cereals, oatmeal, waffles from waffle maker, fruit yogurt, hard boiled eggs, all kind of bread products, sausage patties, fruit, etc). The location is not far from campus and parking was free. Also the lobby was spacious and had several areas to sit and visit. There was also an indoor pool which we did not use but looked decent. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here again.
We were doing college visits and only stayed here one night. However, it was a very nice motel with a large open foyer for breakfast and just sitting to relax. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Nothing like a little southern hospitality!
This was our first time to stay at a Country Inn & Suites and overall, it wasa pleasant stay. We asked for a room away from the elevator so we were at the end of the hall. The only negative about the room location was that it was next to the stairwell door and you could hear that door slamming shut every time someone took the stairs. We did notice that it took a long time for the shower to have hot water. The hotel is in close proximity to UGA and all the campus activities. There is a very nice breakfast available in the mornings and it is complimentary. There is also free coffee and fruit in the lobby throughout the day. We would stay here again the next time we are in Athens.
We have stayed at the Country Inn and Suites several times in the past 6 months and have never been disappointed. The rooms are large, clean, comfortable and quiet - even on football weekends! Staff are courteous and helpful; breakfast is convenient with a variety of choices. Best of all, the no smoking policy is strictly enforced! It is a little more expensive than some other options, but worth it for the consistent quality.
The hotel was very new, nice and clean. The staff was helpful and the free breakfast was great along with the service. Very nice weekend.
We stayed with our 2 kids in April for the G-day game. It was clean, new and the staff was nice. Kids loved the pool and breakfast. The rooms were big, a living area with a sofa and chair and semi-divide bed area. We will be back when we are with the kids in Athens.
We were very pleased with what you get for your money. The rooms are very spacious and having a fridge, microwave and two flat-screen TVs was nice! The hotel is very clean and we had no problems whatsoever. I left my hair straightening iron in the room and received a call from the front desk after we checked out that they had it. It was great to be able to get that before we left to go home. Parking was not a problem and it was easy to find.
Being an Athens Native I know all about the hassel with football weekends. We stayed for the weekend of the Alabama game and payed a pretty penny for it but the hotel and its staff made up for every one of those pretty pennys. The staff was warm and greated me with a smile and the rooms were big and very comfortable. first time i had a flat screen TV in my room. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone. IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!
The hotel looks like a standard hotel from the outside but is very nice on the inside. This hotel opened around February 2008 and all the rooms and facilities are like new. The staffs were excellent and very accommodating when I needed early check in and late check out due to our soccer schedule. The rooms are very nice with flat panel TVs and small refrigerators. I didn't use it in the room but the wireless internet in the lobby appeared to be nice and fast. Two large flat panel TVs in the lobby with leather couches made for a comfortable meeting place to eat lunch between games. They also have free, fresh from the oven, chocolate chip cookies at the front desk if you feel like dessert! The price of the rooms were higher than other places we have stayed in town but I feel like it was worth the extra $ and will definitely stay here next time.
