The location was fantastic - very close to everything that was happening. When we arrived, my partner and I were given a room with two single beds and when I asked for a room with a double bed, the hotel upgraded us to a suite, without any fuss - excellent! Breakfast was as to be expected and we really liked having coffee and cake in the morning. The cleaning staff cleaned our room every single morning to a very high quality.
The staff could have been friendlier, but taking into account the fact that we were English and spoke very little Portuguese and that the staff always seemed very busy, we are sure we can forgive that. That said, however, a smile does not go a miss...

Check in man was not very welcoming. A smile would not go a miss. It needs modernising, especially the toilet flush.

Good location within walking distance of centre, canals and shops. Staff kind and friendly. Lots of eating places near by
Said Parking but no -only if you could find a space on the packed streets ..took us a while to find somewhere after driving to Aveiro. I knew the hotel was basic but I chose it because of ease of Parking . No zapper for aircon. poor breakfast. Old fashioned and basic.
