Charmimg room and breakfast. The location is hard to find even using a GPS.
The room was wonderful, the staff very friendly (!), we liked the entire ambience and ease of the hotel and the garden. Also the restaurant and the breakfast buffet were excellent. No.
San Quirico D'Orcia, (Siena) is in the center of the Brunnello Wine region, 15 minutes from the town of Montalcino. San Quirico is beautiful, quaint, picturesque hilltop fortress/village. Wonderful shops with local goods, restaurants (our favorite, DaCiacco), wine bars, local beer bar, handmade chocolates, beautiful Cashmere shops, and according to my husband the best barber he has ever been to, my husband also rented a road bike and found secondary roads that went by vineyards and freshly plowed fields, he said if Walt Disney had designed a bike ride, this is it. It is so pristine, it doesn't seem real. We love the front desk staff at the hotel, Alice was fantastic. We will be back.
The facility was really very nice. Lots of steps and stairs, which are only a problem arriving and departing with luggage, but not help was offered with getting those items to and from our rooms. The restaurant attached to the hotel was really fine, with a wonderful staff and service. We enjoyed seeing the same staff people we met at dinner out walking on the streets the following days: they remembered us and spoke, which made us feel very welcome among the staff and people in town. Staff could have been more helpful and engaging. Seemed either distracted whenever we encountered them, uncomforatable with our broken Italian (though we and they tried), or something else. Nothing too bothersome, but just a general lack of warmth or engagement.
Nice atmosphere, very typical for Tuscany, with a certain charm.
Friendly and helpfull staff View from room
Lovely location, rooms well laid out; most of staff very friendly; good breakfast. The hotel owned restaurant was also very good and reasonably priced.
Very nice hotel with a great location. The breakfast was wonderful! It is a bit difficult to find with a car as the public parking is outside the village.
The rooms - fantastic The service was at most variable, the check out a disaster
The fantastic suites, the kindness of the staff, the excellent breakfast make this hotel an ideal choice for a romantic weekend.
friendly staff, good breakfast
Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, clean and comfortable room. Our stay could not have been more pleasant. Owner takes great interest in our comfort and care, being very helpful in anything we needed.
This is a great family run hotel that I have stayed at before. The people are wonderful, the breakfast good, and the location is hard to beat! I have no complaints about the hotel at all. I'll stay there next time I'm in Pienza
Well located - Parking is somewhat confusing -
Exceptional kindness of staff No
Almoust nothing.Only the localization was good. Cleanliness? The don`t know what does it mean!!!! Everything was dirty!!!! The rust in the bath; problems with outflow of wather. Window were so dirty, that we couldn`t see almoust anything. The dust was everywhere: on the wardrobes, table, TV set... It was the most expensive hotel, we were during our 2 weeks journey and I`ve never seen such dirt!!!! The pivate parking!? It wasn`t closed for a night, and had no cameras!!! I would never come there again!!!
Close to Pienza village. Good morning breakfast. Easy to find. Adaquate parking. Hair dryer in bathroom was not working well.
The hotel is ideally situated, 150 meters from the historic heart of Pienza. There is ample free parking in the garage, but this is a bit dark and scary at night. The rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast is adequate.
Perfect location in the middle of Tuscany/Pienza. The possibility of relaxing by and having a swim in the outdoor pool in between visiting Pienza, other nearby towns and the countryside. It was crowdy by the pool and not enough sun chairs. We would prefer a larger pool area.
the personel was very polite and helpful.the food was very good our room was spaceous , clean and well decorated. it was the best hotel that we had during our visit to northern part of italy.
Local very pleasant with big room, except that the room was cold the rest was ok. Cold room due to the location ., no chance to get sun
Friendly staff, clean and large room and very close to the city center of Pienza. It was not a luxury resort but a nice place (with a kitchenette, king size bed and great shower). A great facility and I would stay there again with my family!
Everything very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful Breakfast was poor. Room lighting was inadequate in sitting area.
Nice, helpful staff. Room was big and clean with antique furniture and newly re-done decor. Breakfast was a nice European style breakfast including ham, cheese, boiled eggs, a variety of breads, and fruit. Hotel is well-located just outside the gate to the old city of Pienza. It was nice stay in a lovely hilltop town in southern Tuscany. Nice parking garage available free of charge. No, all good!
A lovely converted farm house in a spectacular Tuscan location. Excellent home cooked dinners and friendly accommodating staff.
I like being in an old farmhouse with all of it's history. It had a wonderful courtyard that provided a great ambiance. It was difficult to find initially and not in the actual town.
friendly and accomodating hotel staff and beautiful decor of hotel; incredible price through your website
Great location, historic site. Hotel was clean but a bit tired for the price. Still worth the visit.
Staff Claudia is fantastic, very simpatic, she help us in our continue trip in other cities near Pienza ( Montalcino, Montepulciano, Siena, Perugia, ....)
We enjoyed Pienza, the historic buildings and the elegant old chiostro and its excellent restaurant with beautiful views
hotel evening meal menu was a little expensive and the reception desk area could be improved.
friendly helpful staff , good facilities , good location
the excellent food
location exellent, building and town historical, view from the room beautiful
The peace of the sorroundings
In English: The building is beautiful, the hotel is very inadequate. Staff was uncaring and rude. Room was neither luxurious nor pleasantly simple. Price was too high.
the possibility to enter the spa straight from our room There were not enough shelves in the bathroom to be able to arrange our soaps, creams, articles for washing, etc.
Good hotel, in a very charming and impressive location. Nice staff and good facilities.
Wonderful place to stay. Nice atmosphire. Laying in hot spa was very relaxing. Excellent service both in restaurant and reception. No
The staff and the director were extremly friendly and helpful. The landscape and the small village are just beautiful. The rooms are very nice (and well heated). There are very good restaurants (at the hotel and in the village). It's a perfect starting point for tours to Pienza, Siena, Chiusi, Monte Amiata... And there is also the wellness center in the hotel for treatments (massage, rasul bath...).
ready to help at special accident the group of youngsters at the parking place near the hotel later at night
EVERYTHING except the parking (we were in Pienza over the May Day holiday, which made this problem acute (since we needed to park near to the hotel due to the wheelchair). In addition, repairs were being made to the side road, where the parking spots were located, which exacerbated the problem. very limited parking (see above)
walking distance to shops and many restaurants. fantastic views - great location for photographers and touring Tuscany
Good location with some parking, clean and comfortable if a little impersonal but useful if touring in Tuscany as easy to find. Lack of a restaurant other than for groups - both food and parking a bit overegged on website
beautiful place , great staff, magic!
The decor inside the hotel ( an old building) and its location were absolutely delightful. There was a lovely open fire and the rooms were well heated which was important as it was very cold outside. Hot drinks, wine and cakes were available for us so we were made to feel very at home. We had warned them that we would not be arriving until late (11pm) from Rome airport, but, as the owner does not live on the premises and was only contactable by a message system, there was no-one there to greet us when we arrived. We rang the doorbell but there was no-one there.
We very much appreciated the warm welcome and were delighted with the piano being played while we enjoyed a glass of wine. Our breakfast was exceptional, and served in a warm and friendly manner.
Gorgeous place with a beautiful view and lovely owners!
We had a wonderful stay at Cereto. Our room was so beautiful, I was so enchanted. The grounds are spectacular and there are so many very nice places to sit and relax to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Monica was kind, helpful and very friendly. Nothing, it was perfect!
the cleanliness was second to none. the position was great and the room spacious
It was a great little B&B right next to the historical center of town. You get personal attention from Andre. It was simple but had a beautiful view and was well worth the price.
the host andrei was very cordial and helpul during our two day stay thought the posted directions to the B&B can be improved also although the bathroom was huge and comfortable a small table for bath accessories would be a nice addition
Beautiful apartment with outstanding view of Toscany , very peasful and romantic poor breakfast (hotel was booked as with breakfest but there were only croussaunts and milk left in refrigerator..and some jam)
gorgeous views, very comfortable apartment, could have a couple more tv channels in english (minor point)
The position was fantastic and accommodation good
The pastoral setting. When booking, we were given only 3 choices: 2 large apartments or an attic room suitable for one couple. We booked the attic room (no view) but learned after being there for a day or two that there were other small apartments available with a view.
Lovely setting on a working farm that produces Mantalcino wines. Friendly owner. Quiet and out of the way from the bustle of the towns
Nice rooms, very comfortable, well equipped and furnished. Superb location with breathtaking view. Absence of personal. The owner is only reachable by cell phone. He is always very helpful and friendly, though. Breakfast consists of diy Nescafe and some crackers.
Beautiful surroundings and settings The manager was always available via cell, but he never met me. The Pool was not filled with water and the thermal pool seemed dirty
Quiet but convenient location with great views; pool, spa pool and poolside terrace were lovely. Owner's wine, available at a good price, was excellent. Attic room had only roof windows; would have preferred a window with a view.
Feedback for Casa Lemmi: Nice place, reserved and very relaxing. Great for finding themselves in an environment in which the soul is at peace with nature and with the magical atmosphere that surrounds this beautiful place. Look, if you can and if you want to make happy your soul and enjoy yourself, Casa Lemmi is the right place .
great staff, rooms and spacious bar, views, outside area, very comfortable Hotel restaurant was not good but there are plenty good ones nearby. WIFI was annoying because you had to get a new code every hour.
Very special atmosphere, nice furnitures, beutiful and peaceful location, calm surrounding, real countryside, wonderful sight. Lack of breakfast /dining possibility at site. It is a stone house which could be cold autumn nights, additional blanket needed (it is provided by the hotel).
Lovely ambience and hosts, has swimming pool and fantastic breakfast. Google map location on website is totally incorrect!
The room was marvelous. Every detail was very nice. The swiming pool was nice after a day of sightseen. The owner was extremely helpful and received us at the door with a warm welcome. Breakfast was wonderful, prepared for us in a reserved room. The address provided from the hotel didn't help much. It took us a long time to find it. Find Galina, instead of Castiglione D'orcia. It is much closer and easy to find. GPS does not find the address.
A very gracious and helpful hostess. Magnificent location surrounded by rolling tuscan countryside, cool traditional apartment in renovated villa. we didnt like leaving
breakfast served in the room, swimming pool, airy atmosphere, sense of freedom there is no shelf in the shower
Stayed for 2 nights on our way back from Umbria. Very welcoming owner - we had sole use of 2 bed appt opening onto garden which was brilliant. Pienza is a wonderful small town and we were there for the festival & cheese rolling competition - brilliant atmosphere through the day and music/dancing in the square in evening. Some very good restaraunts serving typical local food & wine and only a few steps back to Il Giardino Segreto! We were lucky with parking just outside the walls for free but could be a problem in peak season.
Absolutely wonderful place! Right at the heart of the town you find this oasis with its lovely garden. The hosts were very kind and helpful, flexible and caring for the customer. The room was very romantic and beautiful, with a separate space for enjoying a breakfast. You can tell that a lot of effort has been to renovate them. Truly a place to visit again! For some the ingredients provided for self-made breakfast might not be enough, but that shouldn't be a problem since you can find all the small shops right around the corner.
Delightful place in a beautiful town. The 'Secret Garden' really does have a garden for guests to use and enjoy. Our apartment had facilities for preparing a light meal. Everything was furnished in excellent taste - a truly fine experience.
Nice room clean, silent and aesthetic Very light and poor breakfast exactly for weight watchers....
Location, spacious sleeping rooms Breakfast could be better
It was really a great location: in the centrum and easy to find (close to the parking) n/a
Perfect location within old Pienza. Pienza itself is in the middle of wine country, much more pleasant to stay there than in Montalcino or Montepulciano. Very convenient re day to day living. Not one thing. It was great.
Warm welcome. This is a charming house, tastefully decorated and furnished in keeping with local tradition, with a lovely garden, perhaps unique in Pienza
The room and the garden were just lovely - exactly the little Secret Garden! The old windows and the doors gave a specific touch to the romantic atmosphere. We also appreciated the staff for advising us to make a reservation to the restaurants in Pienza. It would have been easier to communicate if the staff would have spoken at least a bit of english.
No refrigerator, no bath items, no glasses, small room, no swimming pool, no outside territory
Frederico was very friendly and helpful, directing us to great activities and restaurants in the region. The food we had the one night was some of the best we had on our entire trip. And the solitude and scenery plus size and cleanliness of the Tubruk was just what we wanted. Nothing really. Probably should clarify that there is no restaurant, but rather dinner may be available upon request (FYI - plenty of great restaurants nearby). Also would be good to have better description of location on English website. Otherwise, great, great find.
Very kind people, you feel as amoung the best friends, but without everyday duties, excellent kitchen, very nice area. Nothing
the view of the landscape
Staying at Agriturismo Poggio Tobruk was definitely a highlight of our 15days Italy trip. This place is a GO to everybody who's tired of bastle of big city and just want to have quiet days off with beautiful scenery at the center of Val D'Orcha. This place is just 10 minutes drive from the city of Pienza. Federico, the owner of this property's brother, was very welcoming us with huge hospitality. He spoke good English, fluent French and said he was to study German as well! He helped us for giving much information of places to visit around there. Out of his recommed places to visit, "Vagno Vignoni", a hot spring 10minutes drive from the agriturismo was just great! Thanks Federico! We'll definitely come back to Poggio Tobruk next time :) One thing that we couldn't extend our stay there :(
