9.6 Excellent
Pros: We received a very warm welcome. The property is modern and nicely decorated. The owner was very helpful and even offers a free airport transfer to Knock airport. He gave us a room at the back of his property that didn't face onto the main road. He cooked an amazing breakfast at 0715 as we had an early departure. Coffee served at breakfast was really nice. I reccomend this bed and breakfast for the price, it is very close to Knock Shrine and Knock airport and would have no hesitation in using the accommodation again.
Cons: I was disappointed with the nearby town Ballahaunis. Not the nicest of views. Marnic House is situated on a busy main road so do expect some traffic noise - even after midnight.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying with this family was the highlight of our trip. We had been planning on visiting the shrine for a longer time but were not sure if my grandmother’s health was up to it. Having this BnB made this trip possible. They gave us a downstairs room. Offered us transport to and from the airport and when ours cancelled one of family members dropped us off and refused to take our money! The brekfast is a full english, the beds are cosy and the security is top notch. The host is a lovely lovely lady who has regained my faith in god. This is the best BnB in knock and we aspire to stay in touch with the owners. As for the Shrine , be weary of the Irish weather as this may ruin the atmosphere with everyone always wanted to be indoors. However the lreist have inspired accents and deliver relevant sermons that are different every day. Remember to do the various things at the shrine. Visit every church and go to confession and counselling. The museum isn’t amazing but the cafee is.
Cons: Nothing substantial, just don’t stay in knock too long because it can get boring after you’ve seen the shrine!

Pros: Breakfast was excellent. The double room I had was very spacious and clean and the location was perfect in the middle of town. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The reception area was small and not very inviting and you had to ring for service. There was no real delay though but if a crowd arrived together it might be a bit chaotic. The layout is a bit quirky so it was hard to find my room at the back of the hotel. Not really a complaint.

Divine Mercy B&B - Knock - Building

Pros: Elsie and Gerry were the perfect hosts. They waited to collect us from the airport, although our flight was delayed. They welcomed us to the accommodation, showed us around, took us to the Shrine (at no extra cost) and gave us a good breakfast every morning. Elsie even prepared a special loaf of bread for me to take home.

I highly recommend Divine Mercy and I will come back for sure.

Pros: Friendly hosts & comfortable beds. The room & bathroom were clean.
Cons: It would have been good to have at least a glass to drink from in the room, we didn't have tea/coffee facilities so had to manage with our water bottles. A small bar of soap in the bathroom would also have been welcome as we didn't bring toiletries.

Pros: Secure bicycle storage in garage
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location just a short distance from the airport and there's a petrol station nearby. Secure off-street parking. Friendly and helpful host family. Spacious bedroom. Excellent coffee at breakfast!
Cons: We felt this B&B lacked the attention to detail that made us feel at home in the 2 other B&Bs (at the same price) we stayed in on this visit to Ireland. We appreciate that this is difficult in a very busy family but were disappointed that everything was a bit haphazard! We were surprised there was no adult there to welcome us when we arrived - in fact we didn't meet Claire until breakfast the following morning and her husband not at all. However, the oldest daughter was friendly and capable, showing us to our room and providing towels. We had to ask her for cups and milk as these hadn't been provided for tea/coffee table - although there were saucers! Although clean, the en suite needs attention - the washbasin is coming away from the wall and the sealant round the shower tray needs replacing. A drawer in the rather rickety wardrobe unit needs mending, and the bedside lamps were dusty!
