Staff were kind and helpful. Venue was beautiful and it had a great atmosphere.
Breakfast was lovley.
Window kept banging all night . They had a party booked in of men we went to order at the bar told we only had a bit of time to drink so took wine to the room don't do meals only Monday to Thursday.
It is a Grade 1 listed with lots of History, we had a very large room on the first floor accessed by a small lift. The bed was large and extremely comfortable, The furniture was obviously very old quite comfortable but very shabby Breakfast was of a good standard which included cooked English . Very nice country views Internet good reception
The main problem was it was not disabled friendly, with steps and uneven tiled floors due to the age of the building The shower within a built in wardrobe was very confined and lacked some things like somewhere to put shower gel etc.The disabled parking was a bit away from entrance. Our main disappointment was the evening meal. There was no starters or dessert on the menu, and the main course was limited, also because the bar was not open we had to have pre dinner drinks in the cafe/ restaurant.
For the money, it was a far better stay than the national chains. No frills. Great. Excellent staff.
The walk from the car park via a cinder path.
Lovely setting and listed building with historical importance
Property needs some attention as there is water damage to many areas of internal plasterwork and sash windows. External facade is degrading in areas and approach paths need attention
