Pros (+) I've tried staying in a hotel on Hamra for under $100 before (Marble Tower) and I regretted it as soon as I stepped foot in the room, so I was very careful picking 309. But, it was clean when I walked in, and the room was a modest size. The location is good, just behind AUB, so it's easy to get around. The staff is nice and mostly speaking English. If you're on a budget stay here.
Cons (-) It's perfectly nice, just not great. I still ended up checking back into the Crowne Plaza, but if you can manage to stay at a perfectly good place, the 309 is just fine. A couple of downsides, the room door didn't automatically close. The WiFi was slow. Other than that, a perfectly good hotel if you're on a budget but still want to be near Hamra Street. Though Hamra Street isn't what it used to be...
