Hotel Sibayak International - Berastagi - Bedroom
2
8.4 Excellent (642 reviews)
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Breakfast was ok.
Cons: Rooms are very old, dirty and smelly. Beds are old. Swimmingpool is old, furniture is 100 years old and falls apart.
7.5 Good
Pros: The rooms and bathroom are very good. It is a large hotel. The breakfast buffet was good.
Cons: The swimmingpool was dirty, WiFi was not in the rooms
7.0 Good
Pros: I feel the place would actually be a lovely and bustling family resort if more guests were to spend their holiday there - it's definitely promising. We were assigned to Johannes, a tour guide who works for the hotel as well. He was an absolute sweetheart bringing us around, being very patient with the explanations of things around, and being all round helpful. Do check his volcano and lake toba tours out if you're in the vicinity!
Cons: Perhaps Berastagi itself is not that much of a tourist hot spot, as a result the hotel was mainly desolated and quiet with not many guests. Parts of the hotel seemed a little quiet and creepy, with many promising facilities being unfortunately under-utilized (karaoke room, mini-theatre, spa, lounge etc). Also, while we were informed that breakfast was supposed to be a buffet the night before, we were met with an ala-carte breakfast instead the following morning. WiFi was also not available in the room, only the lobby.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The views from the roof, the room, which was excellent and the restaurant. Note that we hardly ever eat at a restaurant as we find that spreading your money works best on communities etc but on this occasion we ate at the restaurant.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: None
Cons: This is the worst hotel I have been stay , I have paid RM 209 per night , but totally out of my expectations . Waste of my money , toilet very smelly , not clean , the toilet flush is not working , the environment not good . Hey guys pls don't waste your money by staying there .
6.3 Good
Pros: Great location just away from the noise of the city center, but still within 10 minutes easy walking distance. Two convenience stores minutes away for immediate purchases. Staff were very warm and helpful despite the hotel shortcomings. Breakfast was mainly local fare, but a good selection and tasty.
Cons: Furnitures are run down and need a thorough face lift. Bathroom was not well maintained with clogged sinks and flooded toilets. Chalets have a musty scent. Mosquitoes are a nuisance, especially around dusk in the cottages
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was extra comfort. Their breakfast buffet was excellent. Their staff also friendly and very kind.
Cons: The view from Sibayak Mount was so spectacular. Provide a water heater but no plug to in. The bathroom was okay but not very clean.
6.8 Good
Pros: the green and flowers, clean room and surroundings
Cons: the loud broadcasts from outside
6.8 Good
Pros: The grounds are pleasant and the staff are friendly. You can see that this would have been great 20 years ago. It is located just on the edge of Berastagi, which is a good thing. Rooms were OK.
Cons: It needs some serious upgrading and maintenance. Wi-fi was patchy and didn't exist at all in some parts of hotel. Food was average. Still probably recommend as there is not much competition.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel with the most reasonable price. New hotel with superior interior design. Roof top cafe is a cosy place to review night view with drinks and food. Friendly owner that meets and greets all the guests personally.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really beautiful place, the rooms, restaurant and rooftop is quite spetacular! The staff is very friendly and helpsome but a simpel English skills would help.
Cons: Really a problem as the hotel is remote other restaurants and their menu is VERY limited or the food sold out.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful decor in the lobby and rooftop bar. The room was serviced each day.
Cons: Water in shower was cold when we arrived. We repeatedly told staff who said they would check but never did, also asked for a second towel which also didn't appear. The next day shower was OK as long as we didn't have it running fast. No toiletries provided, even soap. We booked a share taxi to the airport but on the day we were going were told it hadn't been booked. The fellow got us on one but as we were the only ones going to the airport we went via central Medan.

Pros: Beautiful decor, nice rooftop where you can have a coffee and relax, room was basic but comfortable, cable tv, comfy beds
Cons: The lobby toilet was a little dirty and smelt, wifi was intermittent.
10.0 Excellent

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Basic but clean room, friendly and helpful staff and a very delightful rooftop bar/cafe with a good selection of mains. The lounge/reception area is very tastefully decorated and is a great place for lounging:)
Cons: Hot water slightly inconsistent (especially if you are second to shower); not very soundproof so you can hear loud neighbours opening and closing doors.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The lobby, the front garden and rooftop lounge are all well-designed, love the vibe there, it feels like you are in a Zen Garden. Sinabung the volcano can also be easily seen from the rooftop. Owners and staffs are very friendly, meals are just so so so so delicious (especially if you can eat hot & spicy), coffee is also great. The whole place is not yet all finished, but they are making progress. As 2019 July the rooftop bar is already in use and its just very nice. We left our camera charger and battery in the hotel and the hotel managed the bring these items back to us :)
Cons: Nothing.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Its a new hotel and the ambiance was good with all greeneries.
Cons: The rooms are so small, you can’t feel the hot water even though its mentioned 24 hours hot water service. The breakfast is not buffet style and you got to choose only one option of breakfast which is available.

Pros: It is set in nice grounds, nicely landscaped, set back from the busy road. Bungalows are clean and functional. Although out of town there are cheap minivans plying the road frequently. Seating areas in the grounds but not immediately outside the bungalows. Has potential to be a much better place to stay.
Cons: Lacks character and ambience. Breakfast not so good as we are vegetarian, though they did manage to serve some vegetable dish, although unappetising. Bed very small.

Pros: This is a brilliant guest house. Welcomed on arrival by the owner who was very nice and helpful. He gave a map and explained how to go to Sibayak Volcano. My room was great, had towels and best of all the shower was lovely and hot (rare in Indonesian budget accommodation). Also the guesthouse is on the road towards the volcano so it is a great location for that too.
Cons: I can't think of any improvements (which for me is rare).

Pros: Location near to our destination mount sibayak.
Cons: Old funiture, the dressing table chair cushion is torn and has a hole in it. There were not enough hairdryers so we had to share one between three rooms. One of our rooms had a door that could not close properly. Not value for money since it was one of the most expensive hotels we booked.
