Pros: The Hostel is close to the bus station and you can reach all good restaurants and coffee shops in a few minutes by walking. The room was very big and clean. So if you only are a short time in Moshi, it’s ok.
Cons: The rooms are close to the Main Street and you can‘t close the Windows completely, the night isn‘t very quiet and you need a good sleep. The breakfast was nothing special , just toast, jam, orange, banana.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Accommodation is very clean and confortable. But the best advantage in the hotel is staff. They are super friendly and helpful.
Cons: Please remind switching on hot shower 15min before taking shower.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent common place to meet people, eat food and drink some beers. The place is very central. They can provide you with take away breakfast and lunch boxes for the early birds.
Cons: Wifi quality was not stable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hot showers and perfect location in Moshi. Easy walking distance to bus, places to book climbs and safaris. Rooftop restaurant had good food. Beds were bigger than most dorms and comfortable with power at each bed. Lockers available. They will even left you leave your things at the hostel while you climb Kilimanjaro!

Cons: We had prearranged a taxi with we travel to pick us up from the airport when we arrived very early in the morning... however it wasn’t there so we ended up getting a local taxi.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: You can stay in an peaceful and confortable place and also support an amazing social project.
7.0 Good
Pros: My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights before we started our safari from Arusha. It's a very peaceful area with a sort of 'homestay' vibe, and I would recommend it for anyone wanting a more countryside experience. The facilities are relatively basic but clean and the dinner and breakfasts are also decent. But just a note that some rooms are in a separate building and it's not in town so you will need to use a taxi (which the hotel can arrange) to visit places.
Cons: The rooms were quite warm, as there's no fan or air con
9.2 Excellent
Pros: they have great services and staffs are friendly and like it that they are a training school for girls in hospitality too.
Cons: The house we stay in is separate from the main area. have to get out of gate and go in to the house from another gate. But it's really not too much of a trouble...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything . its amazing. the philosophy, the concept, the actual charity that the hotel gives . the food, the staff. AMAZING>
Cons: EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a beautiful place in Moshi! Great oasis to relax and very close to the city center. The house and the surrounding garden is very beautiful and unique. For breakfast there is a huge variation, all homemade and very tasteful. Their kitchen is also amazing for dinner - especially for vegetarians its amazing. The staff was always very friendly and helpful with organizing a meru trek. We would definitely come back to this place and recommend it to everyone visiting Moshi.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at this lovely place sadly just one day. Everything is just made with lots of love. The owner and the staff arranged a bus ticket to Dar including pick up from a taxis without any additional costs. We had an amazing dinner made all fresh with organic vegetables. The breakfast was the best we had for our entire holiday since now. If you stay at this place you even support an education for local young women... couldn’t be better See you soon again
Cons: Nothing to complain
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My stay at More Than a Drop exceeded my expectations. After a tiring journey I arrived at this beautiful compound and had a very warm welcome. I immediately felt home. The staff informed me upon my arrival that it is just not simply a BnB but is part of the hospitality school where every year 35 girls aged 18-21 all drop outs from school are trained in a one year course the basic hotel skills in order to find an employment in the hotel industry. The program follows the dual apprenticeship system thus the BnB and restaurant are the practical learning places. The rooms are very nicely decorated and clean. The dishes they serve in the restaurant including breakfast are delicious, fresh and homemade. I can highly recommend More than a drop.
6.7 Good
Pros: Amazing view on Kilimanjaro Excellent food for vegan I was there for the cause to help women... but I was disappointed of the welcoming
Cons: Looks like we disturb when we ask something to the short hair girl (manager I guess) and never could get a smile from her, she smile to woman only. The long hair girl is amazing nice and gives a very good service. No electricity in my section for a complete day. Many many criquets in my room. Far from everything...

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. Very beautiful place.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were extremely nice and helpful!!!
Cons: Access road was under reconstruction so we had to walk in but hopefully this is a temporary situation.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The cook/maid was really nice and did her best. Food she cooked wasn’t bad at all. Special mention for the breakfast avocado toast. The bedsheets were soft.
Cons: Didn’t accept credit card in spite of the mention on booking.com. We had to push to be able to pay with PayPal. Room was really tiny, couldn’t open our luggage. Shower had very little water, and was not really warm, at best lukewarm, unless you only opened drops of water. The high rating of this place is beyond my understanding. And, to clarify, I have been to countless places in Africa at the same price point or cheaper, so the issue is not the cost nor the country/continent.
6.7 Good
Pros: Freda and Vivien (I believe that were the names of the ladies working there) were so helpful and friendly. Freda helped us out massively when we needed to visit the medical centre and when ordering dinner the night we stayed. The breakfast spread was also delicious and filling and the lounge area just outside is very relaxing.
Cons: Booked to stay in the double room with a private bathroom but we were put in the tent in the garden. When we asked about this, we were told someone was already in the room we had booked. The power in the tent kept going out every 20 minutes leaving us without lighting and a working fan when it was off. The tent was comfortable but we'd booked the private room as we had just spent a week in a tent on the mountain. Also the payment system seemed to be a bit disorganized. We couldn't pay for a one night stay with card or $100 cash so had to get a taxi into town to get exact change.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff is amazing. It seems to be at home.
Cons: The position
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The place is a paradise. Decoration and nature amazing and you feel like finding yourself here...I wish to have been there at least for a month! Personal very friendly and kind.
Cons: All was just perfect
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was awesome! Staff were very helpful and helped out with ordering evening meals and when the wifi went down they got it back on in no time! The room was comfortable and was just what I needed prior to starting the Kilimanjaro hike.
Cons: The location was a little out of town but its only 5 minutes in a taxi.
7.9 Good
Pros: The owners are extremely friendly, helpful, trustworthy and reliable. While this is not a luxury property, there are many homey and artistic touches that make the property one I'd stay in again. The breakfast was wonderful - full of fresh fruit, beautifully presented, and fresh eggs made to order.
Cons: Fans are provided in each bedroom, as well as mosquito netting, but it was very hot and airconditioning would have been wonderful. There are properties at this price that do offer aircon, but perhaps don't offer some of the other nice touches at Tembo Tamu.

Pros: Quiet, clean rooms and delicious food. Soft towels. Nice showers with good water pressure and plenty of warm water.
6.5 Good
Pros: View was great
Cons: The rooms were extremely noisy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the most amazing two nights at Kaliwa lodge. Located just outside Moshi, they have the most stunning view over the valley and of Kilimanjaro. I spent an entire day on the balcony reading, doing yoga, and just relaxing, and could have stayed another day. The managers were incredibly helpful to us, everything from helping me sort out last minute flight changes to arranging last minute guides and cars. Breakfast and dinner were delicious too. I would gladly go back again - highly recommended as a post safari or Kili stop!
Cons: The only very minor suggestions I have are to not use bottled water in the rooms to be more eco-friendly, and I also noticed that the staff changed my towels although I had hung them up to dry. Oh, and possibly advance notice that it is cash only would be helpful :)

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ameg Lodge staff are incredibly friendly, helpful and attentive. The rooms were clean, and the atmosphere at Ameg will make you feel comfortable and at ease! The rooms are well taken care of. As a solo traveler, I also felt safe and was able to trust the staff during my stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The additional European plug in for electronic devices is very mindful. The staff was really always very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the late checkout what made my last day much easier. The whole lodge is very nice arranged, beautiful vegetation and furnishing. It is calming so a perfect place to relax. I appreciated the honesty to be informed that the pool will not be finished until my arrival. This is very professional and trustful. Thank you!
Cons: Maybe you could switch between more different local fresh fruit juices for breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Accommodation was very good - allowed us to relax after a busy week, and prior to another busy week. View of Mt Kilimanjaro was wonderful.
Cons: NC
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, the restaurant food and beverages were very good. Beautiful garden and excellent gym facilities. Unfortunately, the pool was closed when we came.
Cons: The shower is a bit small and looks a bit oldish. For a family, the only option is to have side by side rooms, it would be great to have connecting rooms.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Probably the best choice in Moshi, a real oasis away from chaos and dust.

Pros: Nice building
Cons: No waiter welcome
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: The area is nice, the garden is beautiful and the pool is great. That's it. Staff members are nice
Cons: After two days of traveling we needed a nice quite 2 days in this lodge. All well but after we arrived and enjoying the pool there was a honeymoon celebration and more than 150 people took over the hotel, bar and pool area. So no quite stay and all man looking to my partner like she was Pamela Anderson. I spook with the management and told them we are not happy, the told us sorry it will take only 10 minutes, well it took over 2 hours, so no relax and no pool. I asked them if the could offer us something in return just to make us happy again … we could get 2 cokes zero … so no deal. At the end we had to pay over 400USD to stay somewhere we hopped its would be great and at the end it was terrible. When I was going to pay they also ask a 5% bank commission, which was never asked in the other lodges. And at the end the could not give me a proper invoice because the accountant was not there … The room was nice bit it needs urgently refurbish, the bathroom was old and need fast new painting. The restaurant looks nice nut the food is not what was on the menu, sorry guys wrong choices from our side.
8.3 Excellent

7.9 Good
Pros: Clean, good facilities, big room.
Cons: Expensive
6.2 Good
Pros: Atmosphere is quite lovely. Lunch burger was delicious.
Cons: Breakfast was not very pleasing for us--mostly African choices. Egg dish was more green/red pepper than egg. Did provide a special order of egg without peppers, but it took awhile. Steak meat for dinner was so tough, could hardly eat.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's always clean.. The staff very helpful.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great view of Kilimanjaro on the roof
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms had very comfy beds compared to other hotels. Also the most modern place in Moshi town. Stayed at another lodge pre-climb and had a chance to see a few other places in town. The pictures don't do the place justice.
Cons: Nice to have the gym there but it didn't look like anyone's actually used it in a long time. Not really a bad thing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was delicious, especially the made to order omelets. The restaurant in the hotel was very good and prices very reasonable. The staff were very accommodating. We needed late checkout and a place to store our luggage while we waited for our ride, and staff, especially Moses, were fantastic. The views of Kilimanjaro from the rooftop bar/restaurant/lounge were amazing first thing in the morning, and in early evening. Don't miss it!
Cons: Under the beds in our room was not clean. The vanity in our room (208) was stained and looked dirty. I expected a safe, mini fridge and hairdryer based on my booking. I had none of these items when I checked in. Staff were accommodating and brought the safe and hairdryer. I never did get the mini fridge. The fitness room had only very heavy weights, the addition of lighter weights would have made this room useful to us.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Staff and services are excellent but very slow
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff ,clean good sized rooms
Cons: Very limited menu in restaurant, poor wi fi in room
9.2 Excellent

Pros: The room was clean the wifi good. Security is perfect. Staff very friendly. The break fast was also good. The house keeping service was also good. The bathrooms were clean.
Cons: The in room dinning end at 10.00pm this is too early taking into consideration that a guest may land at the airport say 9 .00pm until checking in you find it is 10.00pm and there is neither food no water to drink this need to be changed

Pros: Keys was a nice hotel for relaxing by pool. Also a great location, easy to walk to many places. And a bonus; hands down the best shower (and hot water) I have ever had in Tanzania!

Pros: It was safe to leave things in the hotel and the staff were friendly. Very nice breakfast.
Cons: During the first day of my stay, in the restaurant the waitress seemed to be so discouraging while I was ordering my dinner that I left the idea and went in search for another place to eat.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: - Clean bed, room and the towels! I appreciate that - Nice view from the room and the rooftop area - Central location - Helpful staff and manager - Hair dryer was available when requested
Cons: - Breakfast was underwhelming and very basic (1 omelet, 1 piece of chicken sausage which doesn't taste good, a donut, and 2 pieces of toasted bread + some juice) for the additional $5. I'd recommend that you go to Coffee Union (which is super close from the hotel) for breakfast - The hot water worked only halfway
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was middle of market and a little view of mountain . Staff were polite and good.
Cons: They was no electricity when we check in especially when you need to take shower after Kilimanjaro trek. We were insisted them and they switched in the generator .. However, they have switched after 45mins.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff did what they could to please us. They were very friendly.
Cons: Room was very small. Bathroom very very small. Nowhere to sit except on the bed. Dinner on the roof was tasteless. Switch for the shower was outside the room and someone turned it off before we were done.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was great and what ever food I wanted they would make it or get it and have it brought to your room. Chef also was very very kind. Great great place and that made up for the high price for that season
Cons: Little expensive for that time of year.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mama is very welcoming and knows a variety of local dishes which she prepares with a lot of expertise.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Neatness is very kind and helped us arrange a taxi when when our prearranged transport didn't arrive. She boiled water for us when we arrived late in the evening. The garden is lovely.
Cons: Didn't realise it was a squat toilet which was very difficult with my elderly parents, as was the hot water not working. Had difficulties due to our arrival and departure times which meant we didn't get wifi/breakfast etc. Mosquito net was split up the side. A lot of these wouldn't have mattered if we knew to expect them and could have made alternative arrangements.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Quiet
Cons: No Sinange, no usage of credit card, staff seem not well trained, need to have Air Conditioning. Not professionally run.
7.5 Good
Cons: They did not expect us event though we had booked more than a month before so on our late arrival the room was not ready, but the woman cleaned everything and was very helpful, made us a good breakfast in the morning. Our room door did not closed and the facilities were not exactly as written in the booking description, but if you see this place as a guest house it was okay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Breakfast (and food in general) was PERFECT! Staff was sooo nice and helpful all the time. Even though super low price, an as clean as any possible room + bathroom, we felt like we could eat from the floor- and that means a LOT, especially in Tansania. Beautiful garden with a perfect shadow area to chill in. Bed very clean and super comfy, well working mosquito net. All in all the best stay we had travelling lots in Tansania in many different types of accomodations. Definately recommended the highest!
Cons: Nothing really. The only thing might be that it is not exactly in town, so you need to walk a little or take a Badjaj. We walked and were perfectly fine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Neatness and her family have an excellent facility. They are super friendly. The location is ideal for anyone who wants a quiet out of town experience. And the food was very delicuous!
Cons: She can consider having televisions in the rooms. The shared televion can be inconvenient if there are many guests.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very peaceful welcoming and homely. This is a B&B so has no restaurant. Innocent, the owner, cooked for us on an individual basis and met our vegetation etc needs very well. we also entertained there again courtesy of Innocent's efforts. we of course had to give notice of our wishes to enable her to buy in the necessary provisions. The location is quite a way from the centre of Moshi so there is a need for taxis or tuc tucs.
Cons: Nothing!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The woman cooked fish for us, she was very nice. She organized a driver for us. It is quiet place. We relaxed.

Pros: The breakfast was amazing and the staff super friendly
7.9 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed. Clean room. Clean linen. TV in room with some international channels. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Great value for money. Would stay again but would bring earplugs. We've stayed before at their other property in Shanty Town, which is much quieter and more spread out but this was a cheaper okay alternative. The hospitality is worth it.
Cons: The only thing that works against this property is its location. It's in an unsavoury part of town and it is super noisy at night because of the traffic on the roads outside. Our second night was more peaceful, maybe because it was Saturday going into Sunday and not much trade happens on a Sunday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Nice hot breakfast with eggs cooked to your order. Friendly staff.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean hotel with very friendly staff! Rooms are big with great air condition I enjoyed breakfast, which is with fresh fruit and juice and fresh omlette. Also the restaurant is good for dinner
Cons: It would be even better if there was a mosquito net

5.4 Okay
Pros: Great service, specially by the staff at the reception.
Cons: The rooms are old and rather small, the smell is not fresh. The bathroom is slightly disastrous because it is impossible to take a shower without soaking everything wet.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Kia lodge is a beautiful and elegant place. We were very happy about the lodge room and also with all of the common areas. Both bar, pool and restaurant were very nice. Staff is very familiar and service minded. It is a perfect place to stay for one or two nights before you go to or after you come from the airport which is only 5 minutes away and the hotel offers free airport transport.
Cons: The pool could be a bit cleaner. Also it is not the place to stay for a whole vacation since everything except the airport is very far away.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very efficient airport pickup.
Cons: For the cost of the room they should provide drinking water. One 500ml bottle on check-in is crazy. Free fruit juice at breakfast, but if you want water they sell it at crazy inflated prices.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very nice rooms, with a lot of space. We were picked up at the airport and the welcome at the reception was perfect!
Cons: The toilet in our room had trouble flushing. And unfortunately the pool did not seem clean.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Need to have WiFi in the guest rooms

Pros: This place has a real home feel about it and we were made to feel very welcome. Everybody staying were welcomed to have dinner together and the staff all joined us as well so it felt like one big happy family. The Eco rooms were super and very comfortable. We loved our stay here.
Cons: There is nothing to dislike about this super friendly place.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and helpful receptionist. Beautiful view from the terrace upstairs. Quiet during the day. Safe area. I was the only one in my room which was great. Good shower and very clean rooms!
Cons: Was quite noisy at night being next to the bar which closes at midnight and was woken up about 6am by staff talking very loudly so not a lot of sleep. Also, it is quite far away from the town- you need a bike or tuk tuk to reach it.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location was why we booked there although having a car was a huge help as the roads to the hostel are poor. Bed was comfy.
Cons: No hot water in the shower - this was sorted but the power was very low and water only warm. Breakfast is not great.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Value for money!
Cons: Breakfast, shower...water was cold
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpful. The rooms were very clean and the rooftop terrace is very cozy to drink a tea while admiring the Kilimanjaro.
Cons: There was a little confusion with our booking and the available rooms, although it was perfectly solved by the gentle staff.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and very helpful! Superb view from the rooftop terrace. The museum/bar/restaurant next to Rafiki is also a great place to have dinner.
Cons: Breakfast was ok, but could be way better, especially coffee.
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was clean and big enough. Shower was hot.
Cons: OMG The noise. My room was right next to a road and the noise started very early. Some guy started playing loud music at 5am, right under my window. I had to shout to him to shut down the music. The noise inside the hostel started early too. It just made it really difficult to have some sleep.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room and bed was comfortable and as described. Has a good feel to it, although it was quiet at the time. Staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming.
Cons: Rooftop area wasn’t what I was expecting. It I is very small - really only comprises a couch to sit on, but does have a great view. Was also expecting there to be more people staying, was very quiet whilst I was there (in high season), which was a little disappointing as a solo traveller wishing to meet and interact with others.
5.8 Okay
Cons: I slept in a dorm and during my stay (3 nights) the dorm and including its bathroom was never cleaned. Also the staff didn't change the sheets after a person has left for at least 3 further days. The mosquito nets, Rafiki provided, had lots of holes. So there was no sense using them...

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a spectacular views of mount Kilimanjaro mountain every morning
5.4 Okay
Pros: Very clean room and bathroom. Nice gesture of bottle of white wine with a card. Room size was good, nice sofa and desk. Good A/C.
Cons: Shower door missing, bad towels. But the worst part: the night I arrived I asked if they did same day laundry, they said yes. So next day, 8:30am I bring the clothes down. I get back to the hotel around 6PM and when I get to my room, the clothes aren’t there so I call Reception and asked. The lady said, to give her an hour while they finished drying. (I had to leave next day at 5AM sharp for a Safari). So 7:30pm, the security guard brings me the clothes to my room, every piece inside out, not only not folded but wrinkled together and DAMP. I said to him to take the clothes back, they were still wet.. he touches the clothes and pretends they weren’t, like really? Was he trying to fool me? Cmon... so he left with the clothes, they call me and say, it had rained (forgot to bring the clothes inside) and that THEY DONT HAVE A DRYER. So I told her to just bring the clothes because I had to pack and get up early.. so it took me one hour and a half to dry all my clothes with the hair dryer from the bathroom... such a nightmare.

Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Next to nothing other than the absence of mosquitos. Breakfast was okay but dinner was only so so. Yet on the bright side I didn't get sick.
Cons: There are too many things including the extortionate price of the airport transfer, told by the driver to be free and then advised to be $60 each way when the room was $67. Are these people crazy? I managed, since I was stuck and had a flight to catch to agree $60 both ways. I consider myself lucky. Then there was the bathroom, the lights, the dark corridors, the very young people on the reception. Pleasant enough but not with authority. The hotel didn't create the mountain and that's the only attraction for any of the hotels. They can't charge crazy prices and get away with it for long.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: the location at 200 meters from the kilimandjaro national park entrance
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very attentive and personal. They helped us learn swahili. We sang together. Moses the manager answered all our questions. Aisha, the chef and all the staff helped get us delicious vegetarian food.
7.9 Good
Pros: Thanks a lot at the staff, they are perfect ! Thanks to James for visit the waterfall coffee plantation and Chaga cave
6.3 Good
Pros: Gosh, it was not at all what we expected. Yes, it was clean, but not the luxury hotel we expected and were made to believe according to the photo's. We were excited for the fruit salad desert, seeing as there was nothing else that was available, we almost died laughing when we received a bowl with watermelon. Where's the FRUIT SALAD? Well, needless to say. It wasn't horrible. Would we stay there again? .... mmm.... probably not, but if you are looking for a basic hotel, with Ok-ish food, clean rooms. Then this will do!
