Pros: Very friendly and helpful owmers
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The welcome. Arriving hot and tired, we were immediately given refreshments and made so welcome. The description on your pages does not do this place justice. Our room was described as "private external bathroom" and we were expecting to have to trot along a corridor. Not so, this room is truly a suite, with separate toilet, bathroom with superb double sink unit and lovely bath with shower over. Bedroom. The whole unit is accessed via your own private door. Moreover, there is a supply of bath salts etc. Bedroom overlooked main road which is quiet and deserted of traffic by 7pm. This was our second night stop on a month`s cycling La Velodyssee, and the accommodation, the breakfast, everything, exceeded anything else which we experienced in other chamber d`hote accommodation. We considered it far too cheap for the services provided. I somehow missed the fact that an evening meal could be booked ahead, so we ate in the only restaurant open which was pretty well next door. It was just ok, and very limited choice, but that`s rural France. I know Sue would have done a lot better! Ian offered to give us a head start the following day by taking our bikes further on in our route. My conversion of kilometers to miles was often out so we found ourselves doing many more miles than planned, in a day. but such generous assistance would have been cheating so we slogged it out and soon got into our stride. What a wonderful gesture, evidence of nothing being too much trouble. Without hesitation, go there!

Pros: We enjoyed walking around the very peaceful area surrounding the property and the owners very clean farm. Evening dinner was superb with their own steak and breakfast served with their own organic eggs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a lovely place. Remote and quiet but perfect for me on a cycle tour. The room was large, the bed huge and comfortable and everything was clean and tidy. Marie the hostess can do a evening meal on request, but as I had a good lunch I asked for some bread & cheese. What was presented included melon, salad, charcuterie and some wine, all of which was fantastic, and great value for the small extra charge. Breakfast, which is included, was equally good. I totally recommend staying here if you are in the area.
Cons: There is nothing to criticise.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in Caurel within short distance to the lake. Val and Chris are superb hosts and looked after us well, including welcoming us after our very late arrival. Clean, tidy and comfortable room, with breakfast included in the deal served at a time to suit yourselves in pleasant surroundings.
Cons: We were aware when booking that we had the last available room, which was small but adequate for our short stay. A minor point was that a wardrobe or some hanging rail would have been useful - but this is not a grumble as perhaps the larger rooms are so equipped!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were made to feel welcome from the first minute. Lovely room and excellent food. Val and Chris gave us lots of advice as we are buying a property in Brittany.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I travelled with my mother who is 90 in October so was a little apprehensive whether the food and facilities would be suitable for her but my concerns were swiftly sweep away when we arrived and met the owners. We were given such a warm welcome and they treated my mother as she was their own. Which instantly put her at ease. They made us feel very much at home and prepared a much needed and wonderful meal for us on the first evening - so we decided to eat there every night. I cannot rate La Maison Celtique highly enough and I am so glad we found this gem.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Carole was a very caring hostess and I enjoyed the friendly, relaxed atmosphere there. Everything was lovely and spending time with Both Carole, Patrick and the dogs was like “home from home”
Cons: I would have been nervous driving back in the dark alone- it was quite remote!!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Ty Gwennili was a last minute booking for our last night in France before returning home but it was a real find and is somewhere we would definitely return to, especially when the kitchen is finished and the gite is available to rent. We were made very welcome and given lots of advice about nearby restaurants and banks. The rooms are very well finished, each having an ensuite bathroom, and are perfect for a family as the twin room is accessed from the double room. They also have the most comfortable beds ever (we now want to get those mattresses for home)! In the morning Carole gave us a really generous breakfast in the main house with homemade jams and really good coffee.
Cons: Nothing at all.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazingly helpful hosts, lots of space in the accommodation and unexpected extra facilities such as dishwasher, and access to washing machine. They were also very welcoming to my little dog.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Helen and Carl, the English-speaking hosts, were friendly and helpful. Put me in touch with a local garage 'Top Car' with a last minute car problem before the ferry. I had appropriately-named Roost studio under the eaves for 2 weeks. Light and airy in agricultural countryside, it was perfect for my writing purposes. I was not there to cook so only used fridge and kettle but the kitchenette was well equipped. Big double bed was comfortable and I was given fresh sheets and towels for Wk2. Wifi fine and table and chairs right height for working in front of wide scenic windows. Roof window in bathroom - able to visit loo by starlight, magic!! Shower pressure good when I got the 'hot' temperature setting right for me. There were warnings about red-hot water.
Cons: Obviously, the staircase though it was not as bad as I feared. Think they should put a photo on the website rather than describing it. Easy going up and with care coming down - there is a handrail. Travel with several smaller bags rather than big framed and wheeled suitcase and you'd have no problem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived our hosts Carl & Helen made us feel at home. The studio was roomy. The bed as oh so comfy. Both English and French TV added bonus. All the items we needed to cook were proved for in the kitchen area. Helen's Breakfast was just right and a great cuppa Looking forward to returning next Year.
Cons: There was nothing we disliked about this stay. Apart from having to leave to catch the Ferry Home.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an excellent place to stay for a few days and make trips out around Brittany which we did. There is everything there kitchen wise and washing facilites to catch up on refreshing clothes. The village is charming . Highly recommend this Gite.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Both were wonderful hosts, we feel like we have made new friends, we will definitely be in touch for our return journey, thank you both, love from Steve and Sam Dance
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was beyond our expectations, great and quiet location. Host was very friendly and checked with us every day. Located between villages in the beautiful Bretagne countryside. Will definitely be back.
4.5 Okay
Pros: The shower was nice and there was a plentiful supply of hot water. The gites were in a quiet, countryside location.
Cons: The gite was filthy. When we wiped over the kitchen surfaces with a damp paper towel it came away brown with dirt. Similarly, the kitchen cupboards and draws were dirty. We had to clean all the kitchen cupboards and put all crockery and cutlery through the dishwasher before we felt it was safe to use. The WiFi was also very poor with difficulty connecting and frequent dropouts. This is possibly due to having two routers on the same WiFi channel and should be reasonably simple to remedy.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was perfect for a relaxing week away. I would recommend this property for families and couples wanting a break away in central Brittany
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Owners were friendly and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Found the place late at night hadn’t eaten so the host put some food together for us. Saved the day. Perfect

Located in Bon Repos sur Blavet, BRB - Chambres d'hôtes Abbaye Bon Repos is in a rural location, just a 1-minute walk from L'abbaye Notre Dame de Bon Repos and a 5-minute drive from Lake Guerlédan. Free self parking is available onsite.
7.5 Good
Pros: Stunning building in truly outstanding setting. Lovely area to sit outside with gorgeous views down to the canal. Loved cycling along the nearby canal and visiting the ruined abbey next door (a must). Absolutely loved it and amazing to find a place like this at such a bargain price.
Cons: The reason the price is low is that rooms were converted decades ago and things like bathroom fittings are very dated, also the place is scruffy and something of a work in progress. If you want something modern looking and spotlessly clean you won't like it. Shared fridge, kettle, coffee making etc available for use in kitchen only.
7.0 Good
Pros: Accommodation is in a beautiful setting in attractive outbuildings adjoining the abbaye. Outdoor space is pleasant, adjacent to the chateau and the area used for the annual medieval festival. The Nantes Brest canal runs across the land and there is a small inn nearby. (This does not serve food in the evenings and closed early evening on the night we stayed) The chateau/ abbaye is well worth a visit. Allow plenty of time. There was a spectacular exhibition at the time of our visit. The owner kindly offered to 'rustle up' some food for us if we were unable to find somewhere to eat. In the event we followed his recommendations and found a lovely place, Le Bout du Pont, to eat in the nearby village of Gouarec.
Cons: Whilst appreciating that the accommodation is being refurbished the room was a little basic and was not in a style sympathetic to the architecture of the buildings. Hopefully this will evolve over time. It was quite adequate however for a one night stay Other guests all appeared to be cyclists due to the close proximity of the cycle route along the canal.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The Abbaye de Bon Repos is a peaceful location.
Cons: We booked a room at BrB, Abbaye de Bon Repos, 22570 Laniscat, France. The confirmation stated a Double Room with Private bathroom. Also a kitchenette, refrigerator, seating area, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster, dining table, outdoor furniture and outdoor dining area; none of these facilities were provided. BrB was in the process of being refurbished and looked like a total building site. This meant that expecting all the above facilities, the state of this establishment being re-built (we attach photos to demonstrate) completely spoilt our stay in the Abbaye de Bon Repos (Abbey of Good Rest!!). We were offered a small room with a table and a bathroom. Although Pierre was sympathetic, if BrB were undergoing refurbishment they should have not taken bookings or made this fact clear at the time of booking.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: + Really easy to find, well sign posted. + Grounds and building of Abbey were amazing - compete with ponies/river/woodland. + Old building and features captured the imagination. + Owner was on hand to answer any questions, give local info and resolve any issues. + Slept like a baby. + Lots of hot water.
Cons: + Extensive renovation was underway. Not a problem for me (in fact I loved this aspect), but this needs to be considered by others when booking. + I didn't use wifi, so cannot comment (I didn't ask as there were more exciting things to do, and 3G worked on my phone). + Own transport a must. Fine by me, but maybe not if wishing to sample lovely cidres elsewhere.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambience, the location beside the Abbey and canal, the rustic bar with stone walls, exposed beams, huge chimney and friendly barman, generous breakfast for modest price.
Cons: The bathrooms are functional but could be updated. However, still excellent for the price. A bit hard to find reception and breakfast room!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This I definitely an unfinished project ! There is a lot of work to be done eg finishing the wall lights and updating the 1960's bathrooms etc Yet the setting is amazing and awesome and the owners are friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back !
Cons: The owners know there is a lot to do to complete the accommodation yet somehow the many faults of Bon Repos add to is charm. We loved it !!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: location
Cons: Unfinished project. Building site!!!Room not complete. curtains and pole on floor. no toiletries. Awful finish to decor. Had booked for two nights. walked away after one. Not even up to hostel standards. Room advertised as having chair and table. not present. only a very tatty shared space in and equally tatty reception.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hosts, felt like we were visiting old friends. Amazing setting. Can’t wait to go back.
Cons: B&b is under renovation. No problem but will be better when finished.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location stunning. The building's are very interesting architecture, and construction methods can be seen from looking at the ruins. Convenient location just off the main route, and near the lake.
Cons: The Booking .com description is misleading. The Hotel element closed down in 2016, so there was no reception and the place was dark and dismal. The entrance porch was covered in bird mess, and the glass door was covered in finger prints and was difficult to open, as it scraped on the stone floor. The room was very basic but clean, but the door lock had no strike plate to lock it effectively. The bathroom was 1970's dark brown and the floor covering was disgusting. There were no toiletries, not even soap or a plastic mug for water. There are no facilites etc in the room as intimated by the Booking .com description, and the one and only kitchen is pretty grim by today's standards. The bar was closed and full of upturned tables and boxes. The nearest open restaurant on a Monday is 5 kms away. Not really a B&B/Hotel in the true sense as the owners concentrate more on the spectaculars and events at the abbey. I was on business so I stuck it out for 2 nights as I had pre-booked.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Simple French breakfast.
Cons: Quirky bathroom.

Cons: Nothing really but the breakfast could have been a little better
5.5 Okay
Cons: No one there at breakfast. Communication was hopeless. We needed to go home as an emergency and they were not friendly at all regarding this
7.5 Good
Pros: The Relais is very convenient for cyclists on the Velodyssee route. The hosts are very welcoming and madame speaks good English. The rooms are fairly basic but clean and perfect for an overnight stay. We had a freshly cooked evening meal which was very enjoyable. Breakfast was simple but OK. Would stay again if cycling in this direction.
Cons: The bathroom in our room would benefit from redecoration.
