When you stay at Villa Maddalena in Bra, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Cherasco Synagogue and Castello di Pollenzo.
Pros: We booked two rooms (there is only three I think available for rent) one for my in laws downstairs whilst we were upstairs. It is an old building with history and features and is very quiet with hardly any vehicles driving by. There is also no TV which compliments the tranquility of Villa Maddalena. Owners’ Giovanni and Paola were such wonderful hosts! They made us feel welcome and was always friendly and smiling. My sister in law came for a day and they managed to squeeze her in with a bed in one of our rooms. The rooms were clean and spacious with a kettle and a variety of teas. There is also a small fridge with snacks and drinks and you can pay what you want and the waters are free. The breakfast was superb; very healthy and plentiful. We had cheeses, fruit juice, fruits, bread, jam, yoghurt and pastry. We were asked if we wanted eggs and we said no because there was so much to eat! We even had the local raw sausage and a breakfast wine which made a change to the term breakfast! The location is right in the town centre with shops and restaurants within distance. I will come back here again and will recommend this to friends and families should they wish to visit Bra; region of Piedmonte.
Pros: Great location and great breakfast!
Pros: OK, it isnt traditional 5 * but really quaint and squeaky clean. The hosts charming and attentive with a fantastic breakfast. Easy walk to some lovely restaurants and tavernas.
Cons: On street parking is the only option but there is adequate as long as you arrive after the school run.
Pros: Very good! the people there were very friendly and helped us in every situation! I wish we could have stayed longer
Pros: Everything!!!hosts were helpful, friendly,
Pros: Very sweet people who cared about our experience. It is a modest place, newly remodeled in a very old building. Nice, new bathroom. Shower cabinet is typical European small, but adequate for us. Really appreciated having a washing machine available! Lots of food offered at breakfast: more than we could possibly eat! The walk to and from the train station was easy, and the centro storico is 10 minutes on foot. Do eat at Boccondivino and La Bula.
Cons: WIFI was a bit sketchy. It came and went. The bedroom could use more pillows.
Pros: the hosts ! thank you for the hospitality !!
Cons: the rain!
Pros: Great location. Walked the town and felt very safe. Host was great. Great conversations over a fresh breakfast. Would return in a heartbeat.

Pros: Excellent location and lovely hotel with facilities. Very pleasant staff at Reception.
Cons: We had been told by Reception that it was possible to order individual breakfast items eg boiled or poached eggs, but this proved not to be possible when requested in the breakfast room. This additional service would have positively added to our experience.
Pros: Great view and people. Lovely breakfast.
Cons: Small gym. Some workout machines broken. The same music at the spa was playing at the gym.
Pros: The stuff was very nice and good for what they do. Very personal service.
Cons: The pool / piscina area was a little dissapointment, because the place didn't have any kind of service there, and you couldn't bring any drinks or food from the restaurang..
Pros: The location, the kindness of the staff, the beautiful building
Cons: The room what not very cleaned the first day and it was cold in it, despite we ask for having more heat.
Pros: The property was gorgeous and exactly what we were looking for in terms of location and peacefulness. We also enjoyed the quiet spa amenities.
Cons: It was not possible to set our room temperature any lower than it was. Unfortunately, it got fairly warm at times.
Pros: The room was huge...the largest one of our whole trip. Separate room for your luggage which meant you had even more space. The trip to the pool had very relaxing music to listen to. The spa was fantastic as was the sauna and steam room. Lots of little frogs around the pool which were enjoyable to watch. Huge car parking area which is free. Great location to visit other towns i.e Barollo, Novella etc. Don't forget to visit the little town next door which also has great restaurants to eat at. Definitely do the wine tasting...we had 3 samples which was more than adequate...great afternoon :)
Cons: We had a vintage car group staying one of the nights who were big eaters at breakfast...by the time we came to eat they had all left and had eaten most of the food. This was not replaced so we were left with the leftovers. The staff this morning were not as friendly and tended to clean up after the vintage car group rather than look after the other guests that were arriving for breakfast. This only occurred on one of the days the rest of the stay the breakfast was fine.
Pros: Impressive building (used to be a palace). Heated pool. Babysitting service.
Cons: Staff needed to be (gently) reminded of their place. The restaurant was just average.
Pros: Great gardens and beautiful building. Nice facilities with the pool, spa, cellar. Its nice the big roads are far away.
Cons: The food at the restaurant is tasteless. A lot to improve. There was a funny smell around the premises.
Pros: Spacious rooms, friendly staff, gorgeous site

Pros: A really friendly family-run hotel with great service and facilities. Delicious meals and excellent value.
Pros: The hotel is clean and the staff was helpful
Cons: The breakfast was average at best. I fealt that the hotel was more like a cheap motel chain found in the USA. We have stayed in many places and this was the worst for value.
Pros: The staff, the grounds and the whole experience.
Pros: Breakfast of extraordinary level. Freshly made raspberry juice is just the tip of the excellent quality of everything. No wonder it is a SlowFood stronghold!
Pros: The atmosphere: it was like stepping back in time. Beautiful historic building, tastefully decorated with great attention to detail. The quietness everywhere: in the room, in the corridors, and outside the hotel. The perfect place to relax. Extremely comfortable bed and very silent room. Very welcoming and professional staff. Lovely breakfast
Cons: I liked everything
Pros: Staff were great. Breakfast was excellent.
Pros: The breakfast is excellent and the restaurant as well; staff friendly
Cons: No service at poolarea unfortunately; the bar was very slow
Pros: Good location Interesting although rather strange village Food in sister hotel very good
Cons: Relationship with sister hotel unclear Better directions would have helped
Located in Bra, Albergo Cantine Ascheri is within a 10-minute drive of Cherasco Synagogue and Castello di Pollenzo. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and an elevator (lift). Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Super cool and modern design. Fantastic tour of their wine cellar. Incredibly helpful staff.
Cons: Property was under construction and completely covered in scaffolding without prior warning nor any reflection on the price
Pros: The hotel is very new, and designed and built to a very high standard. It is run by a wine-producing family, and is built over the wine cellar. There is a good restaurant within the complex, where the wines can be sampled with the food.
Cons: The hotel is so new that parts of the exterior complex are still being finished, but that is only a minor temporary inconvenience. The buffet breakfast could be a little better organised.
Pros: Did not have breakfast. Ate in th hotel restaurant - excellent
Pros: Very cool design. There were even viewing ports in the walls where you could look at the various sights. Bonus, it is built over a working winery.
Cons: This place will be great once it is completed. It is currently under construction.
Pros: Modern and well maintained with good well appointed rooms, excellent shower and mattress. The staff at reception and restaurant were friendly and eager to please. Good parking and great breakfast selection including eggs to order. We tried to book a month earlier and they were full, they wrote back to us as soon as a room became available.
Cons: But difficult to find.
Pros: Beautiful and unusual building - very special architecture. Rooms perfectly appointed and very comfortable. Bottle of wine in the room a nice touch. Recommend the wine tour of the cellar - very good. A 5 minute stroll into the centre of Bra.
Cons: The building work going on was a little unfortunate (the terrace was closed) but it will look amazing once it is finished.
Pros: Breakfast not fresh enough
Cons: More options in the breakfast
Pros: Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location, just minutes walk to the train station, and 10 minutes walk to the main shopping and dinning area. It is more central than it seem to be on the map. Hotel seems quite recently renovated with good facilities and room is of good size. Fired eggs, omelettes, and salmon are available for breakast
Cons: Breakfast could have more choice, such as more choice of bread and cold cuts. The price is a bit expensive for a medium size town.
Pros: The concept of the hotel
Cons: They are restructuring the property, so I lost part of the ambience and atmosphere

Pros: very comfortable apartment perfect for a 3=4 days stay
Pros: Location was great and parking was very convenient and free. The room was pretty close to the pictures. Nice decor. Anna was helpful. Their restaurant downstairs is interesting and we had a nice breakfast with a discount.
Cons: The WiFi was weak and the room was very hot at night.
Pros: Lovely place , and great staff in the cafe . Would recommend it as it is in a good location and facilities for a family visit.
Pros: Pleasant staff, clean accommodation, good food, reasonably priced.
Pros: High value for money
Pros: Nice apartment in an old building very close to town centre and also the train station (and an ample public parking right at your doorstep, if you come by car) Consists of two rooms and a bathroom (we used just one room) and has anything you might need for your stay
Cons: actually all the experience was quite nice, nothing to brag about
Pros: Great location. Property is charming.
Cons: Charming comes at a cost. Wi-fi was really bad, kept cutting out. Pedestal fan kept overheating and the manager didn't care(I couldn't leave windows open due to mosquitos loving me). Blu room stays warm due to afternoon and evening sun. Bed squeaks every time you move. Noisy above restaurant until late at night and some chatter and music can be heard also.

Pros: It’s clean, cost, well located and the staff is super nice and helpful. Overall outstanding experience. :)
Pros: Very friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Made me feel very much at home. Very central location with free parking very close by.
Cons: Rooms can be a little noisey if there are guests next door. Italian rubbish and glass collection is also very early and very noisey
Cons: the breakfast was mediocre
Pros: Friendly welcome
Cons: The appearance of the reception which is neglected, sad like a place where there is now enthusiasm and motivation to welcome the guests. Instead the kindness and helpful support of the staff largely compensate for the setting of the entrance which really looks oldish and démodé.
Pros: Pleasant owners, immaculately clean rooms, great location, good breakfast.
Pros: Most friendly staff.Very helpful and well informed.
Cons: Breakfast very average
Pros: The place is comfortable for a few nights stay if you're not looking for luxury. It is very conveniently located right in the centre of Bra and everything is walking distance from here.
Cons: The room smelled like smoke when I got there. Breakfast was disappointing. Would have liked some eggs, toast etc instead of just sweet breads / tarts and breads.

Cons: No WiFi. But this was the fault of the broadband provider. The hosts apologised and compensated by waivering the payment of local tourist taxes. The steep and narrow driveway up requires a bit of navigating and good clutch control.
